two fully finished ornaments

 I finished 2 ornaments yesterday.

Designer: 4Boysand a girl (I think) from ETSY
Design:  Stitch Noel
I stitched this in 2019 and it has lingered in the box of unfinished objects until now.

It was hard giving this one away.  It was my favorite ornament this year, but I don't really need any more
ornaments for my tree.

We went and got our tree yesterday.  The place we usually go wasn't selling trees this year.  So, we went to the local hardware store.  They only had about a dozen trees left but we did find one.  It cost us $90.00.  We both said at almost the same time "maybe it's time to invest in an artificial tree.

A small stitching finish

I finished this before Thanksgiving but haven't had a chance to show it off until now.

Bob and I both tested positive for COVID.  I tested positive the day after Thanksgiving and Bob tested positive the next day.  Yesterday was my last day of quarantine and today is Bob's last day.  Shirley also tested positive the same day as Bob.  Needless to say, not much has been done around here.  I did feel good enough to bake some cookies.  I made Snowballs on Monday and shortbreads on Tuesday.  Today I am going out to a local candy store, Sweet Ashley's, to pick up boxes of candy for Sandy, Kathy, and Lori for Christmas presents.  I have a coupon that expires today and while it is only 10% that is money in my pocket not theirs.  I will be going back to wearing a mask again when I go into any stores.  While I know where we got infected, it was from a family member, I will not take a chance of getting this again.  It wasn't worse than a head cold but if I can protect myself from getting it again I plan on taking every percaution.

Got a text the other day that a friend from the Welfare office passed away.  Mary Hartzman was a clerk in my clerical unit for many years and then became an Income Maintenance Worker.  She was such a nice person.  She has had MS for many years and died from a heart problem.

Two More FFO'd Christmas ornaments

This is the back of all the 2022 Christmas ornaments I am making for my Great Nieces & Nephew.
The only difference will be the color of the ribbon, green, red and white.

Only 2 more ornaments that I have to finish for this Christmas.  I have some more that I want to finish but I think they will be made into pillows not ornaments and be for me.

I was hoping I would finish Cardinal Point yesterday.  But the frog came to visit.  I won't have much time to stitch today as we are going out to lunch with some of Bob's high school friends.  I should have some time this evening but the words have been slow going.  Tomorrow for sure.

Stitching for the past week - 10/25 to 10/30

I finished the stitching on Cardinal Points except for the words.  I love it.

Cardinal Points - All that is left is the words

I also finished the stitching on Brittercup Designs Autumn is in the Air.  I think I am going to make this into a no-sew cube.

Notes:  I loved stitching on this fabric.  I think I am going to drop out of the Colour & Cotton Fabric of the Month Club and see if I can get into the BeStitchMe Fabric of the Month Club for 2023.
This is my 32nd stitching finish for 2022

Yesterday I stitched on my November Christmas ornament.  It is another snowflake on Red.  They look like such easy stitch, but they are intricate.  I started this one in July for Jolly July stitching and got about half of it stitched before I put it away to finish this month.

I've been trying to do the finishing on this year's Christmas ornaments but I just can't get into it.  I think part of it is that I want to sew in the early afternoon and Bob is always in the office, where my sewing machine is, on the computer.  He isn't just here for an hour or so, it is the whole afternoon.

Happy Halloween

Wishing all a happy and safe Halloween.

bob and I aren't doing anything for Halloween.  We haven't gotten any Trick or Treaters in years.  Even when we got them it was only less then 10 or so.  Our street isn't conducive to kids walking on; no sidewalks and the car traffic is scary.

I have finished the stitching on Cardinal Points except for the words.     I was going to change the wording on it but have decided that I'm not talented enough to do that; so, I will stitch as charted.  I will have to chart my name, City and state along with the year, but I will stitch the verse 1st and then worry about the rest.  I'll post pictures of Cardinal Point and Brittercup Designs Autumn is in the Air when I can get on the desktop as that is where the pictures are stored.

Cardinal Points progress as of 10/25

I'm getting so close.  I just need to stop making the same mistake over and over.  I counted wrong on Sunday night and didn't notice it until Monday night when things didn't line up correctly.  Looked back and noticed I had made the same miscount in this set of leaf and flower that I had made on another set earlier in my stitching.  You'd think I would learn.

I love this.  However, I don't like the saying that is charted for the top blank box.  I have been toying with the idea of just putting "Cardinal Point" there or finding a quote about cardinals that would fit there.  I'm still thinking about it but I need to finish thinking soon.  It looks much more vibrant in person then it does in this picture.  It is getting really hard to take a picture of.

I am also stitching as my 25/7-piece Brittercup designs Autumn is in the Air.

I'm a farther along than this but this is the latest picture I took.

I had a stitching finish this afternoon

This is the 2nd time I have stitched this project.  I posted a picture of the first one on Instagram and CJ responded "Me, me".  So I decided to stitch it again and give it to her for Christmas this year.  I just have to fully finish it.  I have an idea.

Weekly progress on Cardinal Points

I'm still plugging along on page 5.  Every time I look at the whole thing I say to Bob "isn't it beautiful".  The colors are amazing.

On October 1st I picked up one of the Christmas ornaments I started in July and made it my October ornament stitch and it is also my 25/7 stitch until I get it finished.  It is a Lizzie Kate Tiny Tidings XXII Mr. & Mrs. Elf.  I have both of the elves stitched and a little bit of the boarder.  I have an idea of how I am going to finish this year's ornaments.  I just hope it turns out like I picture it in my head.  I am also almost finished the stitching on I Believe in Christmas which I got from a Punch Needle and Primitive Stitcher magazine.  I can't remember the designer off hand so I will post all of that once I finish the stitching on it.  Should only take an hour or so as I only have the reindeer to stitch.

Back from the framer

This is the 1st thing I have ever taken to Michaels to have framed.  I am pleased with it except that I don't like glass over my cross stitch.  I have to do what I have to do.

Cathryn from KYKS sent me this chart many years ago.  I liked it but I just never got around to stitching it.  In February of this year PBS had a Masterpiece Theater of Around the World in 80 Days and I remembered I had this chart.  I pulled it out of my stash and started stitching it.  I did enjoy stitching it.  It has been sitting around in my to be framed box since I finished it on March 30th.  I decided to take to Michaels for framing because it is a small piece and if they made a mess of it I could restitch it.  Although that lawn and ocean was no joke to stitch.  Especially the lawn with all those sheep.
