Fabulous Weekend

We took Charlie on his first overnight excursion. I had a youth temple trip in DC so Andrew and I decided to make a trip out of it. I was nervous about how Charlie would do in a hotel. He was amazing and slept ALL night for the first time. He had been waking up every 3 hours on the dot, but at the hotel he went 9 hours. It was amazing. Too bad I didn't sleep that long. I kept waking up thinking charlie would wake up any minute. I was proud of myself for getting everything packed for this little adventures. I even remembered the camera and video camera. Unfortunately I forgot to charge them. Luckily Andrew's phone takes decent photos.
Anyway, Friday we went to Mount Vernon and loved it. It was just such a gorgeous day . The grounds were so pretty especially with all of the changing colors. we were impressed with the Visitor's Center and were excited to see George Washington's dentures-no they were not made of wood. The mansion was also pretty. I loved all of the bright colors George had the rooms painted. Saturday we took turns at the temple and then went to the zoo. It was a perfect weekend.

Recent Happenings

Here's what we've been up to the last couple of weeks: Charlie met Papa for the first time. My dad was so nice to drive a total of 7 hours to see us for almost 3 hours while he was in North Carolina for business. We also ventured off to the pumpkin patch and met up with some friends. It was a hot day and a long wait for the hayride that takes you into the actual pumpkin patch. So we were lame and opted out of that and did not even get a pumpkin. We did get door bell ditched later that week and there was a pumpkin on our door. We have great friends.

At the pumpkin patch

Leave the room for 20 seconds and Charlie scooted off the blanket. He was not loving the carpet in his face.
How could you resist this cute face?

Nana and Grandpa

We were so lucky to have Nana Deb come out again. She brought Grandpa out with her who got to meet Charlie for the first time. We had such a great time with them. The weather was perfect and we were able to see a lot of fun things and watch General Conference with them. We played some mad "Hand and Foot" and Rich and Deb finally beat us. It was a close one though! Charlie loved having Nana and Grandpa around and gave them lots of love and smiles. We sure love you guys. Thanks for the quick trip.

Outside of the Civil War Museum

This is what Charlie did for most of our outings. The car ride always put him to sleep.

Charlie's Room

Charlie's room is still a work in progress, but it's close enough. A few people have been asking to see some pictures of it. So here it is. We'll get pictures on the wall eventually.

Andrew is so sweet and painted while I was out of town (and pregnant) so I wouldn't have to breathe the stinky fumes.

My mom painted these to match Charlie's bedding. They are my favorite things in the room (besides Charlie of course!)

1 Month Old!

Our sweet Charlie just had his 1 month appointment. Here are his stats:
Weight: 11 lbs 1.5 oz (90%)
Height: 23 inches (90%)
Head : 15 inches (55%)
We have a very healthy boy on our hands and we are not sure how we got such a big baby. Neither of us were very big. Charlie is such a sweet and happy baby. He loves to smile and has been consistently doing it for a couple weeks now. He is very alert and loves watching everything. Charlie is a strong little guy and can hold his head up really well . He is also a champion pooper. Can't wait for the day when he's down to 1 messy diaper a day. Charlie is almost walking and can say "momma" and "dada". Okay, maybe not, but Andrew and I think he's pretty amazing. We feel so blessed to have him in our lives. He is truly our little (I guess I should say big) miracle baby.
