This was a great day! We were able to go to the Sacramento temple and witness the sealing of Scott and Courtney. It was also the last time we attended the temple with Aaron's dad, Harlan Leroy Eller. Recently, I have been getting into doing family history and was thinking that I need to help motivate Aaron to do some on his line. So, I went to his line and noticed that their was some research to be done. So much has changed recently with family history. It is so much more convenient! There are 3 family search sites that are free to use now if you have an LDS account. I was able to find a whole line of Aaron's father's family that most of the work had already been done, but they are now connected to his line. I was able to find a couple of men's names that had not had any of their work done. It was super exciting! The most exciting part was to see Christian get baptized a week or 2 ago for these 2 names that I found. I imagined his grandpa running off to teach these men that he knew he was related to. The veil is very thin sometimes and I'm so grateful for that. :)
This little girl turned 8 and was baptized. She is such a sweet girl with so much desire to do good and be a follower of Jesus Christ. After her baptism, Meliah and I went in to the dressing room to help her dry off and get dressed. She was so happy she was bouncing! She said, " I want to be baptized again!!" Meliah then said, " When you turn 12 you'll be able to do it for the dead in the temple." I loved that response. I also love that when we take the Sacrament every Sunday it is as if we are getting baptized and wash our sins away every single week. What a blessing and a gift to have that kind of ordinance performed on our behalf every single Sunday. Heavenly Father surely knows us and loves us. None of us are perfect!

My parenting plan!!
I have been thinking a lot lately of what I need to teach my kids to help them become independant physically, spiritually and mentally so when they turn 18 they will be able to survive on their own. The last 9 years has flown by so quickly I can't believe it. Nine more years and my first child will be old enough to be on his own. That is a real wake up call for a mother who hasn't prepared her children for those important days. I realize that I have gone on way to long without a list of what needs to be learned and done by what age so that my kids will not be horrified when they get out into the world alone. So, I've come up with a list of most everything I can think of that would be important for my kids to know and learn and what ages they should be capable. Of course, every child is different and is capable of different things at different ages. Some learn things faster and are more motivated. Others would like to just live in the home cave for the rest of their lives and have no motivation to do any of it. So, I am including my fairly flexible plan. But if you let too many years slip by, you may need to up the work to fit everything in. I got most of my ideas from a very experienced LDS author (Merilee Boyack) who has raised several children successfully! So, hopefully you find this as helpful as I do!
