Weekly Report
Superman has interviews in Iowa and Ohio...super excited about Ohio!!! He was also asked to complete round 2 of the applications for Utah. Progress...I love it! He also survived snow camp. :)
I made sourdough tonight...and it was a bit less sourdough-y than I thought it would be. I'm still pleased with the results.
This weekend I will be making candy and next week I'll be learning some self-defense with the young ladies of the ward.
Kiffer's canines are all FINALLY through his gums...hurray for small favors!

Teething Biscuits
I subscribe to a family/parenting magazine called Wondertime. Each issue undoubtedly contains an article I take issue with (no pun intended). However, the activities/recipes are so much fun! (Especially now that Kiffer can help out.)
Saturday night we made teething biscuits (recipe found in February issue) from flour, applesauce, and maple syrup. And they're GOOD. Really good. Kiffer stirred, kneaded, helped sprinkle flour on the counter, rolled out the dough, and "squished" (cut out) the cookies. Voila!
Not only does he have a new snack and something to comfort his poor gums (He's still teething at 2 years...those darned canines!), but we've discovered a wonderful new activity to delay bedtime. Such fun to bake!

Something New Weekly
This year I am trying to learn/see/do/make/cook something new each week. So far: went running with Superman, visited a local flour mill, and learned to create a blog header. (I am behind the times when it comes to tech stuff. I was too ashamed to actually post my header...so I'll be creating another one.)
This week: I plan to bake sourdough for the first time. Wish me luck!
*Stray thought: Superman will be snow camping (igloo and all!) with the 12 year old Scouts this weekend. Too cold to send a decent camera with him...wonder if they still make those disposables...

2009 So Far
Seems to be a SLOW year so far...at least as far as we are concerned.
Superman is back at school, but only 2 days a week. (And can't seem to find a job that will take him the other days.) All the applications are in...and he has one interview scheduled. Sigh. It's that silly waiting game again...don't you just LOVE the waiting room of life? Fun, isn't it?
Kiffer's really into trains, trucks, puzzles, and interpretive dance. Seriously. It's not your average toddler dancing...it's more like toddler modern and hip hop. Oh! And he ADORES robots. Did you know that all robots say "cheese"? You would if you'd seen that episode of The Backyardigans with Kiffer! It's cute...I'll have to get more video.
I am working hard to do new things each week...the first week I ran with Steve...twice! ;) Last week we visited a local flour mill. This week...? It's almost over and I need something new! I've been busy enough with Kiffer and my DT work. Hoping all this crazy exercising will start to pay off again...I'm at another plateau as far as weight loss goes...but I'm down 12 pounds. Yay!
If you have any suggestions for "new" things...leave them in the comments! I'd appreciate it.

Happy New Year!
Today I am grateful for the experiences I had in 2008...happy to have "survived" and pleased to realize I've learned a lot more than I had anticipated. It was a GREAT year.
Especially happy to have made the Tally design team for January-March 2009. I am looking forward to working with a fabulous group of women from across the nation. Still grinning! ;)
Hoping 2009 will bring the same sorts of opportunities as 2008...but with a little less drama. Anxious to find out where Steve will be attending pharmacy school (and where we will be living). The list of things to learn/do/see/read this year is getting longer by the minute...will post my "master" list sometime this week.
