the price of motherhood
a) tesco, jusco, sunshine (groceries)
b) life insurance, medical insurance, family insurance, education insurance (GE, ING, HSBC)
c) popular, borders, mph
d) medical bills**
** this is not the whole picture, as usually MH is the one who brings the kids to see the doctor. i.e he paid for RM297.40 a week ago for Josh's immunization shots. the total amount is much more scary!

It’s all for nothing.
I'm such a lazy parent. I take comfort in reading this type of article.
I just read an article that says “All those extra bedtime stories read, violins purchased, chess clubs driven to, trips to the museum made, cosy fireside chats delivered; all the arguments over homework and bribes, all the blueberries served, all the guidance offered, all your values instilled, all your world-view shared, all the worry, heartache, effort, blood, sweat and tears of being a responsible parent. All the things you do that make your child special. It’s all for nothing.”
Whether your child will be a success or a failure in life boils down to his luck in the gene lottery. Research has found that adult twins who were separated at birth (how come so many twins get separated at birth?) are very similar on almost every count. It seems that by the time a child has grown up, the impact of parental encouragement and nagging will have disappeared.
The best thing you can do for your future children is find yourself a good mate. And remember, four left feet do not make a ballet dancer.Bill Gate's Advice to Kids
RULE 1: Life is not fair - get used to it!
RULE 2: The world doesn't care about your self-esteem. The world expects you to accomplish BEFORE you feel good about yourself.
RULE 3: You will NOT make $40,000.00/year fresh out of high school. And you won't be a vice-president with a car phone until you EARN both.
RULE 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. He won't have tenure.
RULE 5: Flipping burgers is NOT beneath your dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping - they called it OPPORTUNITY!
RULE 6: If you mess up, it is only your fault; learn from your mistakes.
RULE 7: Before you were born, your parents weren't as boring as they are now. They got that way from paying your bills, cleaning your clothes, and listening to you talk about how COOL you are. So before you save the rain forest from the parasites of your parents' generation, try delousing the closet in your room instead.
RULE 8: Your school may have done away with winners and losers, but life has not. In some schools they have abolished failing grades and will give you as many times as you need to get it right. This doesn't have the slightest resemblance to ANYTHING in real life.
RULE 9: Life is not divided into semesters. You don't get summers off and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time.
RULE 10: TV is NOT reality. In real life people need to leave the coffee shop and go to work.
RULE 11: BE NICE TO NERDS!! Chances are you will end up working for one!
Luxury to breathe down someone's neck

This was what I got when I was breathing down his neck.

However, I only have the luxury to breath down his neck when my MIL is around because she helps me to handle most of the housework. So grateful for that, but we don't have the luxury often.

One of the best things you can do for your child's emotional well-being is to attend to yours: carve out time for rest, relaxation, and, perhaps most important, romance. Nurture your relationship with your spouse. -Bob Murray
