Cooper's Baseball Party!

Since Cooper loves baseball so much, it was easy to decide what to do for his 2nd birthday party. I think he had a lot of fun this year and is starting to get the idea of what birthday parties are all about!

I attempted to make Cooper a baseball glove cake and baseball cupcakes. Not the prettiest thing, but at least it tasted good (thanks to my MIL and her yummy frosting recipe)! :)

The birthday boy cramming his mouth w/ one of his favorite snacks....popcorn!
Cooper had lots of visitors at his party, including Granny and Nana from Indiana!

Uncle Rhett and Papa came up too and helped Daddy put together Cooper''s new playhouse/slide we got him for his birthday.

Cooper got to play a little ball w/ his friends!

This is the BOYS club! We'll welcome 3 more boys to the group this fall, including a baby brother for Cooper!
We couldn't forget that Cooper's birthday is on Cinco de Mayo so a basball pinata seemed appropriate!

Everyone got to take a swing, including Cooper's little buddy Lucas w/ help from his daddy!

Lots of fun prizes to scoop up!
Cooper received lots of fun gifts! Thanks everyone!! So many fun toys to play with all summer long!!

"CHEESE!!!"

Can't believe our littly boy is 2 already! We've laughed and smiled more in the last 2 years. We feel so blessed! Such a fun little boy! His personality shines so much now that he's so verbal. Every day I'm excited to hear what he is going to tell me and what new words he's going to use to describe something through his eyes. Can't wait to see what the next year will bring us, especially since Cooper will gain a sibling!

Cooper actually blew out his own candle this year. He definitely gets how this works!!

Make a wish...

Cooper's 2 year old pics

Cooper turned 2 in May! Can't believe how quickly time goes by! I can't believe I haven't posted to our blog in so long either! So much going on lately! I least wanted to get Cooper's 2 year old pictures posted for those of you who haven't already seen them on Facebook. My college roomie Beti's husband Tim is starting a photography business and took them for us at a local ball park. He did an awesome job! He got some great action shots of Cooper playing what he loves the most....BASEBALL! Dutch and I were not dressed to be in these pictures, but Tim was able to capture a few fun family shots!

I'll post some pictures from his birthday party too. We took all the pictures on my mom's camera so I need to get them off of her photo chip. Stay tuned...more to come soon! I have some cute/funny videos of Cooper I need to get uploaded too!

Ha! Ha! Ho!

...as Cooper would say!

We had an amazing Christmas this year! We're so blessed with wonderful families who spoiled us to pieces. Cooper was a lot of fun this year and was really into opening his gifts (as opposed to just the gift wrap and tissue paper like last year). We kicked off our Christmas festivities by returning to Liberty to spend a few days with Dutch's family.

Here we have 4 of the 5 Hughes boys and 3 of the 4 grandbabies. Not easy to get everyone in the same photo anymore!

Cooper with Hagen, Hallie and Raegan.
I don't think we'll ever get a picture with all of them looking at the camera!

Cooper playing patty cake with Nana and Raegan

Cooper received lots of fun gifts, including this cool tent, which he loves to hide in!

Cooper is obsesed with these zoo animals from Granny
Cooper's 1st baseball glove from Uncle Rhett!
I'm not sure who is more excited...Dutch or Cooper!? ;)

Cooper is a bit obsessed with Hallie too. As soon as she left, he started asking "Where's Hallie?". He was even asking for her the next morning!
Should I be concerned that he likes to play with Hallie's girly toys too!?

On the morning of Christmas eve we headed to my parent's house to celebrate with my family. We went to church and then spent the rest of the evening with my dad's side of the family. Santa even made an appearance! Some how they convinced my Uncle Neal who is over 80 years old to dress up as Santa. He may just be the worse Santa ever, especially since his pants are falling down and he can't see because of the beard, but he sure had fun doing it! I haven't seen my dad & his siblings laugh this hard in a long time! And the kids loved it, including Cooper!!

Uncle Ben should be proud...even Cooper wore a tie to church!

All ready for bed...and anxious for Santa to come!

Christmas morning...need I say more!

Cooper loves his new John Deere tractor from Santa!

He especially likes to give cute girls (like Lyla) rides!

...Or he's happy to have Santa give himself a ride!

Do tractor's really moo????

Cooper is rockin' out with his new Elmo from Uncle Craig

Uncle J and Auntie A got Cooper a cool race tower
To go along with his new glove, Dutch got Cooper a personalized baseball bat and helmet. Again, who is more excited!?

While Cooper loves his helmet, he's still trying to figure out how to put it on!
One of his favorite words is HELMET so this is very fitting. He loves to point them out where ever he sees one!
He's got the hang of it now!

Cooper is so excited about all his new gifts that he can't decide what to to play with. Therefore, he ends up trying to carry around like 10 toys at once. Thanks to everyone for making our Christmas so fun and special!

More fun with new toys!

Cooper's Grandma and Nana think alike because Cooper got a tent from my parents too. Now we can have them in every room of the house! Fortunately, they fold up easy. If it were up to Cooper, we'd keep them out at all times!

Grandma checks out Cooper's new Thomas tent. There's definitely room for 2!
