Peaches

We headed back to the farm to pick some peaches and to play.

Hanging out in the shade while we wait for our wagon ride out to the peach grove (Mommy may have forgotten the sunscreen... oops!)

Nice haul!

The Roosteraunt was open and we had a picnic of hot dogs and bbq.

Brennan was so happy that we finally let him pan for treasure.

One happy kid with some arrowheads.

Checking out the emu.

Bouncing on the big pillow; the obvious thing to do immediately after eating a big hot dog lunch on a hot day.

We finished up in the corn crib (it was shady and cool.)  Here is Brennan making a corn angel.

Time to head home with our peaches, just another fun day on the farm!

Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum

We recently spent a rainy morning at the Loudoun Heritage Farm Museum.  We got there nice and early and had the place to ourselves for a little while.  The kids had tons of fun.  First we rode the tractors.

Then we milked the cow...

...collected eggs from the hens...

...groomed our horses...

...saddled up and went for a race!

They were having so much fun that I didn't mention the fact that they seemed to be losing. ;)

Next stop was the puppet theater.

The general store and post office were a huge hit.  Brennan loaded my basket up with fruits and veggies and Isla emptied out all four egg cartons.  Prices fluctuated wildly and I paid quite a bit for my groceries!

Not so sure about the bonnet.

That's more like it.

We revisited the tractors and tried on some overalls before we left.

Isla Turns 2!!!

Our sweet baby is 2!!  Isla started her big day off with the breakfast of champions: pancakes.

This was followed by a little early morning gift opening.  Brennan helped a lot with the unwrapping and with keeping the momentum going.

Daddy testing out some of the toys.  Quality control is important!

A hug for the birthday girl.

Brennan helped bake and decorate the cupcakes.

Oma came to help celebrate!  Patrick and Oma enjoy a rousing game of cribbage during nap/quiettime.

 Time for more gifts!

A special birthday dinner of meatball subs.

Cupcake time!

Make a wish...

One last gift from Aunt Sarah and Uncle Tim.  Brennan had been waiting for days to see what was in the big bag.  Needless to say, this was a huge hit with both of them!!

We're still working on steering.

In other news, Isla has begun vaulting out of her crib like it's going out of style.  Unfortunately she can't climb back in, which has resulted in naps like this one.  (Those are Brennan's rain boots)

So now our big girl has her own bed and more of a free range situation.  I am definitely not ready for our crib days to be behind us, but at least she's not sleeping on the floor.  Happy birthday Isla Marie, we love you!!!
