Last Friday we went to the Ventura County Fair.
Kent and I love to "eat our way around the fair"
and this year was no exception. And we thought we'd
check out the livestock for Jack's sake.
Here Kent is showing of is
prize winning cow
(who looks amazingly like Jack).
Jack loved looking at all the animals. His favorite animal
was the
rooster. It crowed at him, which he thought was
hilarious. His least favorite animal was the
turkey. For some
reason the turkey really spooked him.
My favorite was seeing the
mama sow and her
12 little piggies. Can you imagine 12 babies at once?
INSANITY!Gotta take a photo of an old fireman in front of
the
old fashioned firetruck. Dad, you're my
hero.
Kent's favorite gimmick of the night was the Turkey
Race. As you can see, all the turkeys are chasing
a red truck full of feed. If you've never seen turkeys
race you just haven't really lived!
By the way, the Red turkeys were the winners.
Eating through the fair is hard work; we started with
giant
corn,then had
fish tacos,
candy coated almonds,
dippin' dots, and topped it all off with
hot gooey cinnamon rolls.
You know it's time to go home when Jack starts to
wilt.
At least he's extra cuddly when he's tired.
Grandpa didn't seem to mind.
Look at that smile...
Oh, and I promise I was at the fair too. It's hard to
be the
camerawoman and still be in the shots.
