Three cheers
It was five year-old Argy's first day at primary school today. He was very excited and it all went well. His younger brother - four year-old Bargy - starts kindergarten this Wednesday.
Some days the boys will be at school and kindergarten ... at the same time.
The house will be quiet won't it?
Yipppppeeeee!
Hip-hip-hooray!
[Insert sound of clinking glasses, party tooters and marching band here]
Wooohooooooo!

It has happened here too...2 entire kid free days. I can hardly believe it and have been chinking glasses since last week!
ReplyDeleteBut honestly now - did you shed a tear??
ReplyDeleteOh lady - you won't know yourself!!!
ReplyDeleteLet the games begin!
ReplyDeleteMe too!! I have one day when I don't work, but I do the school run. Pretty excited. Shall I volunteer for canteen?
ReplyDeleteLook forward to it! I am missing my Maya so much of the time while she is at school. I just can't get used to not turning on Playschool for her in the afternoon. I hope Bargy had a great day too. What a milestone!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Freetime. Years ago when our younger ones went to preschool I told a friend how I used those cpl of hours to do 'me' things - reading, napping, painting, etc. She was stunned. Apparently she wasted that precious time doing housework. Weirdo.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the free time that is coming - it's the beginning of a whole new part of your life - just a way of paying you back for the 24/7 time you've put in for the last umpty years...and letting you mentally prepare for the next few decades!!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww how sweet for little Argy and Bargy, but even sweeter for Mum!
ReplyDeleteI hope you manage to get a little 'ME' time. You deserve it!
Enjoy that bliss, I am a year away from that but wonder if I will ever get it, when they are in kinder / creche I work, thus the time for me is limited. But I do sneak in a pedicure every now and then at lunch.
ReplyDeleteSO there's no chance you're the homeschooling type xo
ReplyDeleteYes and don't waste time cleaning anything!!!
ReplyDeleteYay for you!! And as for any suggestion of a part-time job "Pfffft" to that I say.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!! Hooray!!! (chink)
ReplyDeleteAh!! Mine are at Uni now...but I still recall those thoughts of......YES!! peace and quiet, finally....but I still missed them, whilst enjoying that morning stroll at the shopping centre - ALONE!
ReplyDeleteOh Congratulations! We have just sent number two off to school and number three starts 3yo kinder this year, so I have another 2 years until I get that silence for a whole day :-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it, you deserve it!
Yay for the New Year! Yay for school going back! My smallest boy starts kinder on Wednesday too. Exciting!
ReplyDeleteAw, you'll miss them really.
ReplyDeleteWell, ok, you probably won't! Happy sewing!
Happy sitting in total peace and quiet with nothing getting fought over or broken for hours!
Cheers,
AJ
AHhh your a crack up!
ReplyDeleteSO have you plans on how you will fill your days?
Trust me you will suddenly wonder how you did it with children!
Think of all the sewing you can get done!!! Sometimes I dream about the quiet days before me. Only 2 years to go!
ReplyDeleteYou're hilarious! No 'sad about the first day' blog post for you teehee
ReplyDeletewoo hoo - fun fun fun
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it, funny lady...your fireworks made me laugh out loud!
ReplyDeleteOnce I got caught by the postie twirling about like a bad Stevie Nicks tribute act just because there was no one else in the house and I could. Only happens once a week so far for me but more to come - the stuff you can get done.
ReplyDeleteHow's the serenity Daryl?
Ha! Love it! Enjoy :)
ReplyDeleteI'm still a couple of years away from such EXCITEMENT!!! Glad all went well for your little man on his first day.
ReplyDeleteIt is sheer bliss, yes!!! Enjoy.
