Classes, The Woodland Cabin (and Bella!) is Famous!

Hello friends

I had a lovely time in Bury St Edmunds yesterday, I ignored the rain, sleet and snow!
I've never been before and after the class I took a quick look around the town,
it's lovely and reminds me very much of Canterbury here in Kent.
This is the shop and I immediately espied the new teal Grand Caliburs in the window!
A lovely group of ladies and it felt so good to be back doing classes.
If you have a craft shop near you that would be interested in a Spellbinders visit
then please let me know.  I quite fancy setting a bit of a craft shop challenge -
just how many can I visit in one year!?

The fame bit... :)
This magazine came out last week and I'm delighted that they have included
my woodland cabin in an article about craft spaces.

Here are some pictures of the article, not great quality I'm afraid as it was scanned
but you get to see the important stuff...Bella!

The magazine is full of lots of useful crafty info and you can order a copy here

Other news...

Ros asked yesterday if I will be stocking the dies that were on Create and Craft last week,
yes I will be.  Of course if there are any dies in particular you need/would like to pre-order
then please drop me an email.

I haven't announced the winner of this month's Charity Kit just yet...
they are still selling - I'm so pleased this one is popular and obviously every kit raises
that little bit more for the charity.  The winning ticket will be announced next week
along with last Sunday's Sentiment giveaway.

I think that wraps up the latest.
Please stop by tomorrow for FDD.
Take care friends.

Happy Birthday

Hello friends

I really enjoyed making this card!!
Does that happen to you?  Sometimes a card just comes together exactly
as you imagined it, instead of hours of fiddling and moving embellishments about!

This is using some of the new Donna Salazar products - Donna has teamed up with
Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L® and launched beautiful ribbons, lace and more.
I promise to stock these as soon as I get my mitts on them!
The 'happy birthday' is Sentiments 3.
And my favourite Bitty Blossoms also make an appearance.
All the details of this card are over on the Crafty Power Blog here.

Today I'm off to Bury St Edmunds, I'm starting my Spellbinders Ambassador Tour!
I've had my nails done and Bella couldn't be left out!

I will keep you posted of all the future dates and venues, there is a new tab on the website where
I will also list everything.  Organisational emails are flying about at the moment -
it promises to be a very busy and fun year!

Take care friends.

Tuesday Tip/Technique

Hello friends

It's TTT Day!
I'm on a roll with Sentiment dies so how about using the negative of one?
This is Sentiments 4 but you can of course use this idea with lots of dies.
I've die cut 'get well' from white cardstock.
Trimmed the negative to a rectangle and placed it as a feature at the top of my card.
A dotty kraft card base with pastel green and pink bunting on pastel twine.
The further die cuts are Bitty Blossoms and Les Papillions Two.
Nice to see a butterfly - I must be craving Spring!
Another TTT idea where there is no waste at all!

Take care friends, I'm back tomorrow.

Sunday Giveaway and Iris

Hello friends

Brhhhh it is certainly cold, my cabin has been quite frosty but thankfully
warms up with a heater inside.

I've been working away on quite a few projects and planning for February's
Charity Kit, think hearts.... details to follow beginning of next month.

January's kit featured Sentiments 5 and the Sentiment dies have been
proving very popular.  Today I thought it would be nice to have a giveaway for
a set of Sentiments 5 - two dies that say 'hello' and 'just a note' - very handy for projects.
Easy peasy, just leave a comment on today's post and a winner
will be announced next week.
Also pleased to say Floral is back in stock, the die featured on Friday Die Day,
this is one of those dies that isn't going to leave my craft table for a long time.

Last Sunday's giveaway was Create a Flower dies and Pat was the lucky winner of
Create An Iris.  As soon as it arrived she began crafting and I'm delighted to share
her card with you all today.
I really like the natural colours and the touch of hessian/burlap.
A close up of the Iris, it looks superb.
Thank you Pat for sending the photos through, I'm always thrilled to see Spellbinders projects.

I hope you are all having a great weekend and keeping warm!
Don't forget to leave a comment on today's post if you would like to win
the set of Sentiments 5.

Take care friends.

Friday Die Day

Hello friends

It's Friday Die Day and today I'm featuring Floral.
This is one of the Spellbinders® decorative card front dies.
There are two dies in the set and the measurements are:
Inset: 3¾ x 5” Border: 4¼ x 5”.
(That border die used alone is brilliant for plain rectangles too!)

This is how it looks cut/embossed.
And this is how it looks embossed only.
Just use your embossing sandwich and the result is just as beautiful.
I've applied a strip of floral washi tape along the bottom.
(This washi tape is available on the website at a bargain price here).
I then cut/embossed Pretty Petals B and Sentiments 3.
Attached them to the base area of the card so not to detract too much from the lovely
floral embossing.
Just a couple of gemstones for extra sparkle and done!
A fresh clean card with a shot of blue and pink.
Floral is also the die I used for this month's Charity Kit (details here)
Imagine inserting a backing of rainbow paper...that would be effective.
It could be a very useful die indeed! :)

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, let's hope for finer weather please,
at risk of being blown away!

Take care friends.

Charms and Rods

Hello friends

Thank you for all the comments yesterday regarding the Platinum - the
new Spellbinders die cutting machine.
I do have a little more information - take a look here -
Cut@Home blog have more photos and a video too.  Well worth watching as you get
to see the inside of the machine and believe me...it looks super strong!

I have made a note of all the questions and as soon as I have even more information
I will be definitely be answering them all.

A while back I was able to lay my hands on some retro Spellbinders dies,
I'm still trying to obtain some more and I will keep you posted.

In between revisiting a project using Charms and Rods.
A retro die set featuring little frames which I adore.
I cut/embossed them using Craft Foil.
I put together a simple card stringing the frames on twine and adding tiny flowers and leaves.
The scalloped edge is achieved by using Classic Edges One.
I have just one set left on the website - available here!

Back to City job today (seriously...it comes around way too quickly!)
Stop by tomorrow please...it's Friday Die Day!

Take care friends.
