BE AN ANGEL DAY!

Hey, everyone! Did you know Friday, August 22 was BE AN ANGEL DAY? It sure was! You can read more about it right here. I think it is great that someone thought enough about volunteering to make an official day of it! You don't need to wait until next August 22 to be an Angel, though! You can start today! There are lots of ways to help others. You could sponsor a child through organizations that take monthly donations and use it to help feed and clothe children, drill water wells, and provide education and housing. You could make and send cards to kids who are facing life-threatening illnesses to cheer them up. Visit Make A Child Smile to see these beautiful children's faces and read their stories. One card, one postage stamp, one moment of your time will make a big difference in their life and in your own, too! If you have a heart for helping others, enjoy making cards for them and mailing care packages, why not become a real ANGEL and visit ChemoAngels today. You can become a Traditional Angel like so many others do, or a Card Angel like me! You can choose to make a donation, if would rather not sign up to be an Angel, and that lets this not-for-profit group continue running smoothly while you get a tax deduction and most importantly lots and lots of men, women and children battling cancer can continue receiving the help, love and support they need right now! There are other ways you can make a difference in your own community: volunteer at a soup kitchen, pick up trash along the road you live on, call a friend or family member just to say hello and take the time to listen to how they are doing. If you enjoy paper crafting, why not ask your local library if you could teach a free class on how to make a card or mini-album. Sometimes just smiling at someone, letting them go ahead of you in line, or holding the door for them if their hands are full makes such a big difference. When I have my son in my arms, several packages to mail out at the post office and my daughter's hand to hold, it really warms my heart when I see someone standing at the door, knowing I could use an extra hand and holding it for me while I go through. You can always make a difference big or small!!
Hugs,
