Norah: Two Months
We have a two month old!
Here are the stats from this month's appointment:
Height: 21 inches (10th percentile)
Weight: 10 lbs. 10 oz.
Head: 15 1/8 in.
What's she up to this month?
-Cooing and smiling! Norah has the sweetest little coos I've ever heard. She's getting more and more interactive and is "talking" to us when talked to.
-Sleeping. THANK GOODNESS!!! In her ninth week, she slept through the night for the first time. Yay Norah! She's been off and on with it since, but it's encouraging to at least know that she can do it. Remember when I told you we thought she had "evening colic"? Well, we've rediagnosed her. She didn't have evening colic. What she had was a little thing we like to call "parental ignorance." :) We didn't do a very good job the first month helping Norah take naps, so it was basically a constant free-for-all. When she wasn't sleeping during the day, she was having total meltdowns from exhaustion in the evenings. So for the last month, we've tried to build a little more structure into our day and Norah's become a much better napper! And a MUCH happier baby when awake.
-Watching her feet. Yes, her feet are her favorite "toy." She loves to sit in her seat or on our laps and watch those little things kick back and forth. Exhibit A:

A girl's first accessory is a special thing.
The obligatory tree post
A few days ago, we went Christmas tree shopping! At some point in the future, I'd really love to go cut down a tree at a tree farm, but with a baby this year, we opted for Home Depot.
Here's Norah all bundled up:

I promise Matt was there too! He was just behind the camera :)

How to take a shower
1. Put baby in bouncy seat. Turn vibrating button to "on".
2. Carry seat into the doorway of bathroom.
3. Turn on loud dryer next to bathroom, causing baby to stop fussing and perhaps even fall asleep.
4. Shove blanket next to baby lest she fall over.
5. Shove one pant leg into sock. Why? No real reason.
6. Shower quickly since you'll have exactly 11.5 minutes before baby wakes up!

Thanksgiving 2011
This past week, Matt's family came to visit for Thanksgiving! It was his sisters' first time meeting Norah and our first time meeting Laura's now-fiance Seth (congrats Seth and Laura!!!). We had a great three days hanging out, eating, and just being together. Here are some pictures!
Meeting Aunt Laura and Uncle Seth:
Meeting Aunt Ellen and Aunt Emily:
Some time with Mamo at Thanksgiving lunch (By the way, Seth made the hat Norah is wearing!):

Norah, the celebrity, and her paparazzi:
And finally, everyone together. Thank you all for making the trip!!!
We are so blessed.

Matt's birthday
Matt's birthday was two weeks ago (I'm a bit behind on blogging), and we celebrated by going out to one of his favorite restaurants in town: Chuy's! I'm pretty sure we ate our weight in chips and salsa, and, as you can see, Norah was thrilled to be eating out:

She did great! She slept the whole time which gave Matt and me a chance to have a date :)
Happy birthday hubbie!
I should have known...
A few days ago, Matt was taking an unusually long time to change Norah's diaper. I asked him a few times from the other room if he needed help and he kept saying no.
The next day, though, I found a full-out photo shoot on the camera! I should have known...he loves his girl. Here's some of the pictorial fruit of his diaper changing...

*Sniff*
Over the last few days Norah has been proving she's less and less of a sleepy newborn and more like a growing baby girl. While we're thankful that she's healthy and getting bigger, Matt and I are already feeling sad about how quickly she's growing! And it's only been six weeks!

For example...
She's now taking bottles (though still not the biggest fan):

She sometimes takes a pacifier. She actually really hates the pacifier, but we've been fighting her on this one to get her to like it.
And this one really kills me:
She's already outgrown her newborn clothes!

One month pictures
I'm going to attempt posting monthly pictures of Norah for the first year of her life. I think it will be fun to compare them from month to month! So, here's the first batch:

Oh, and here's the part where I was a really bad mom and let her start to fall over...

Whoops!

Now, what you can't see from these is that I was standing over her on the bed, in my PJs, bouncing up and down between pictures to keep her happy! Otherwise, they'd all look like this:
