December 2012

 My beautiful little baby.

I attempted to make the "gingerbread" houses out of graham crackers this year.  The recipe for the frosting was great.  It's just that cutting the graham crackers was really hard and the house ended up looking a little crooked.  Oh well the girls had fun anyways.

 Christmas Dresses
We were so blessed to have my parents come and spend Christmas with us.
First thing on the agenda when they landed Christmas Eve was make homemade tamales.
My Mom and I always somehow forget how much work goes into it.  We always say we aren't going to make them again and then somehow we get to that point again where we're cranking them out again.  Christmas just isn't the same with out them.

My dear friend Emily hauled this dollhouse from CA back here to TX for me because she knew we didn't have on and her mom was getting rid of it.  So "Santa" scored some furniture on eBay, did a little wallpapering and a little sewing to turn it into a Barbie house.

Sadly Simone was pretty sick the whole time my parents were here.  So she was pretty fussy.  One thing that did calm her down was walking outside so my Dad took her for walks daily.

We celebrated New Year's at about 9pm cause this Mommy needs her beauty sleep.  Between teething and sickness Simone was not sleeping well at this point.

We bought a whole bunch of fun stuff and then took it all next door and made a mess on their porch with it.  Ha ha ha.
 We helped clean up.

November 2012

Simone continued to be that happy baby, never without a smile on her face.

My birthday came and went and I was just fine with that.  Rob had to work that day so it was just me and my girls. (we had gone out to sushi to celebrate earlier in the month)

We attempted Christmas card photos and this was the favorite. Why do I torture myself?  It's only getting harder to get everyone to cooperate as we add more little ones to our family.

Highlight of the month having Grandma and Grandpa Holt come visit for Thanksgiving and also having Uncle Dave and his family as well.  The girls loved having their cousins come visit.  Sophia cried several times in the coming days because she wanted them to come back.

We had a Texas Thanksgiving with a smoked Turkey from Rudy's BBQ and some brisket!

We toured the Alamo and Riverwalk.  Most of the photos are taken from the beautiful gardens behind the Alamo.

Then we spent a little time on our Main St. one evening for some "snow", entertainment, and Santa.

My original plan was to put our tree up at the beginning of the month.  What can I say we LOVE Christmas, but much to my dismay it didn't get up till after Thanksgiving.  Baby Simone and the girls kept me busy that month.
