Has it really been almost a year since I have been on this last? Well so be it. At this point life is wonderfully crazy. Ike is almost done with summer rotations for school and we will actually be able to see him again for more the just the sleeping hours. He will get a 6 week break from all school related things after that and we are all SO excited for that to come. Braydn is loving the fact that I let him go outside and play almost whenever he wants. I love all my neighbors and being in a cul de sac makes it great for all the kids to go out and play with each other in safety. Braydn is also experiencing new things a lot lately. He is in a tumbling class. The first time he was so scared and had to just sit by me on the mat and watch the other kids until he figured out it wasn't scary at all and now he loves it. He will probably be doing swimming lessons sometime soon too. Ethyn is not really my baby anymore :( He is so full of personality and entertains himself frequently. He is walking and started figuring that out at 9 months old. Now he cruises all over the house and finds plenty of things to get into. As for me I mostly keep busy by just being a mom, but I do extra things here and there just for me. I am currently taking a jazz dance class. It is a lot of fun to remember how to do all these dance moves that use to be second nature to me. I also am doing a quilting class starting in July. That is the basics. Maybe I will be better and posting on this if I keep them short.. Ha.. I doubt it, but we'll see.

Pharmacy School
This a month old, but I have to say how proud I am of Ike!! He is now in the swing of things in pharmacy school and things for him are very busy!! Between going to school and then immediately going to work afterwards, I wonder how he does it!! He leaves for school at 7 am and get home from work at 10 pm on most days of the week and then of coarse he somewhat wakes up in the middle of the night when Ethyn wakes up to eat, so his nights aren't completely restful, but he's doing good. He has passed all of the tests he has taken and is understanding what he needs to learn. We are SO blessed!! This pictures are from his White Coat Ceremony that took place a few days after Ethyn was born and right before school officially started. This is when he got is White Coat and the official status of Health Care Professional. Awesome!!

Ethyn Rayne Whitehorn
Well I am going to attempt to work on this blog again. Last Friday we had the wonderful blessing of welcoming Ethyn Rayne Whitehorn into our family. He was 7 lbs 5 oz and 19 inches long. He came out with tons of dark hair and looks like his Mama. I got induced with him, but I think that he would have come on his own that day or the next regardless. Once they started the Oxytosin, I was only in labor for 3 hours before he came. In fact my epidural didn't even end up getting the pump on it because the anesthesiologist was so busy that he only had time to give me the initial dose which only lasts about 1½ hours, but I didn't need more then that.☺ He is such a big eater. He wants to eat every 10 minutes and is not fully content unless he is latched onto Mom. He had a bit of a hard time in the hospital because his blood sugars were low from the get go and had to have a tube shoved down his throat so they could get his tummy full of food. He then had to be poked every time he ate for a while and then every 6 hours after that. The poor kid had so many little poke holes in him that by the time that we took him home he looked like a pin cushion. He is now at home and I am hopeful that he will figure out what is daytime and what is nighttime. So far he has them backwards. But despite keeping me awake all night, he is such a joy to have in our family and it is exciting to see him learn and grow. The next big thing is meeting his big brother. Braydn has been with my mom for a week and so he hasn't met Ethyn yet. He will come home tonight and I hope it all goes well.

Just Life
Well lots has happened since April and at the same time not much has happened. Braydn turned 1 in May. He still has way to much fun destroying my house so I have just given up on that fact that toys will always be scattered around the house no matter when you last pick them up and things that you don't want touched will definitely get peanut butter hand prints on them.
Ike finished his Pharmacy Tech Program and just started a couple of days ago working at Walgreens. It is kind of nice working for the same company(different stores) with Ike. He completely understands what I am talking about when I come home from a rough day because he has been in the exact situation. Not to mention that if needs be he can take my shifts for me if I get sick or something. Its like a built in back up plan. Sweet!
Ike started normal school again in August with a demanding schedule which means we don't see him very much, but that is just the price to pay I guess.
As for me I am the same as ever. Working and being at home and that's about it.
Over the summer we have enjoy several trips to my Mom's house(mini vacations) and we have been rejoicing over very few 100 and up days considering that we tried very hard to use the AC as little as possible because it is so expensive(I think we only turned it on for like 5 days the whole summer. Crazy huh?). I am very excited that fall will be here soon and so excited for Halloween. It will be a great new experience taking Braydn out to Trick or Treat this year. He's going to love it! I know I will.

The Braydn Update
So I figure I would let you know how Braydn is doing because every time I post He has changed. We will start will the worst story I think. This morning as I was posting the Easter info, he came running at me pretty much at his full speed(which is pretty quick I must say) and he ran straight into my computer desk face first. It was a hard hit so I picked him up and realized he had a mouth full of blood. I took him in the the bathroom to find out that he had seriously bitten his tongue close to all the way through. Needless to say he has had a rough day. If it was a cut anywhere other then his tongue, it would probably need stitches, but they can't stitch a tongue. So instead he gets a lot of comfort and back to the soupy baby foods. It has also been a struggle getting him to drink since if he sucks on his sippy cup, the cut breaks open and he has a mouth full of blood again. Well, at least tongues heal quickly(I sure hope!!).
On more positive news... Braydn will turn 1 year old in 3 weeks. Where does time fly to? We are going to put something together for him although I not sure what yet. He now has 7 teeth that were a serious help in the above injury. He says the normal "mama" and "dada", but he also learned a new word. Tickle. He said it constantly for like a week and now he won't do it very often anymore, but we still consider it his 1st real word. He learned something else in the last week or so that makes me very happy. He will throw his dirty diapers away. After we change him, we hand him the diaper and tell him to throw it away and he walks into the bathroom and puts it in the garbage. YES!! It works!! The next thing we will work on is putting his toys away... Same kind of concept. Anyway that is about all for now.

My happy Boy

I walk in his room one day and had done this, but his drawers apart and threw clothes everywhere.

Ike put together the timeout chair since it will be needed soon. Braydn was learning the tricks of the trade and decided he deserved credit for all of Dad's hard work.

This is what happens when we pack at our house. Braydn wants to make sure that he is coming with us.

Did the Easter Bunny come?
I know it is a couple of weeks late, but Easter was a lot of fun. We decided to have a sleep over Easter weekend with Ike's family. We had people in and out all weekend(11 adults and 4 kids in total) and it was great fun!! We played tons of games and of coarse had an Easter egg hunt. Braydn was so cute with finding the eggs and went all out for it. They were plastic eggs filled with money(thanks Grandpa, I mean Easter Bunny) and Braydn thought it was really cool that they made a fun noise when you shook it.

For the adults, I think the biggest fun came the night before Easter. There were 7 of us at the time and we stayed up until 4:00am playing a really random game called Quelf. This game is the perfect game when you are all tired and loopy and acting like fools. It has you do the most random stuff and you never know what you are going to have to do. We were all laughing ourselves silly. Oh and to make it even better, Dad said that he was in the mood for pizza at about 1:00am and so we ordered pizza which promptly got shoved in LeElla's face by mom.

Also on Easter morning, the boys went out and did a perfectly normal thing to do in the middle of April. They went out and built a 15 ft tall snowman. Is there something wrong with this picture to anyone else? Where did all that snow come from? Well they made the best of it and had a great time putting it together and then tackling it to the ground, but not before I got a picture.
All in all we had a really wonderful time together!! Here are some other pics that were taken at Easter that I thought were cute.

Our niece Daea was posing for the camera while hunting for eggs.

"No Nana you may not speak."

Look at the toothy grin!! So freakin cute!!

Just enjoying our Easter snowstorm.

Is it spring yet?
So I know it sounds crazy coming from me, but is it done snowing? For probably one of the first times in my life I am anxious for winter to end and spring to be here. I just want to be out working in my gardens (fruit, vegetable, and flower). We have started our flower beds because they got overrun with the grass and therefore we had to dig up the whole thing and then replant all my tulips. We haven't gotten very far yet because it takes a while and every other day the forcast says its going to be cold and snowing. Although I can't complain to much because we need the moisture I would just rather prefer rain to snow at this point.
In other news, we are doing good here. Not to much has changed, but I do have an update that we are excited about. Ike found a program that will train him to become a pharmacy tech. He has worked with Pinnacle for a long while and is ready for a stable job where he wont be on call all day every day. Ike really wanted to work in a pharmacy now so that he could get some experience in before he goes to pharmacy school and all that jazz, but UVU doesn't offer a tech program. We thought about going to one of the applied technology schools that you see advertised on TV all the time, but most of those programs are a year or more and it would be crazy to go to 2 different schools at the same time, but we looked into it anyway. Ike just happened to find one of those schools that is across the street from UVU that does a tech program only for BYU and UVU students that are studying to become Pharmacists and here is the kicker, the whole program is completed in 8 weeks. HOORAY!! So he will start that in June and be licensed by the beginning of August. We are so excited for him to have a normal job most likely with benefits ( even more excited about insurance through an employer since last night they passed that dumb healthcare bill).
As for Braydn, he is a very loveable hugable monster. I thought that he got into everything when he started to crawl, but now he walks. For a couple of months now he has been playing with the idea of walking and taking steps here and there, but now you could say he is comfortable because he discovered that walking is faster then crawling and off he goes. I just keep looking at him and thinking your just barely 10 months, aren't you suppose to stay my little baby a bit longer then that? Apparently not.
Also in good news, we don't have to pay taxes this year. We actually get a refund!! YEAH!! Every year we have been married we have had to save up and pay because Ike didn't get any money taken out of his checks for taxes, but this year with everything (house, baby, my job) we get money back which is a really good thing considering that our refund will have to pay the mortgage until Ike gets his Pharmacy tech job and we will both be working. Well that pretty much sums things up for now.
