Tonight I caught the 4:45 showing of Twilight with a couple friends. I have to say I really liked it, yeah! I was a little nervous because movies are never as good as the book but they did a good job and I think it helped that I haven't read the book for a long time so all the details weren't as fresh in my mind. I went in being very skeptical of Edward (like most) but thought he was good. I could have done without the booing from the audience when Jacob showed up and the screams when Edward did but I really liked it!
When the show was over I had a text from Mark saying "call me, Charlie won't stop crying." I called him and by that time he was at the express care, again, and said that Charlie had an ear infection and his ear drum almost burst. He woke up from his nap crying in pain saying "my face hurts!" First of all I'm so impressed that Mark took him to the express care and figured it all out on his own! way to go Mark! But I was very surprised that he had such a bad ear infection. He hasn't been sick, a little cough but that's it. So as I was putting him to bed it dawned on me that he was playing with a q-tip in his ear yesterday, I told him to not do that because it could hurt your ears, not too worried about it though. It didn't look like he had it jammed in there. So now I'm thinking that might have been what caused the ear infection. Has this happened to anyone? I looked it up online and it says that it can happen and can rupture ear drums. I know it was the same ear that has the infection too. Just wondering if I'm crazy or not.

Kangaroo Zoo
What a fun party at Kangaroo Zoo! The kids were so tired and quiet by the time we had pizza, cake, and presents. Porter feel asleep in my car on the way home. We had a fun time. Love this picture of Kody and Charlie sliding down the slide.
Here's Cocoa the Kangaroo, she stopped by for about 30 seconds before it was time for her "nap"
They all loved hitting the flying ball.
This is Jaxon and Kennedy our neighbors. I think there's a little love connection going on between the two of them, they were inseparable. At one point there was another kid not from our group picking on Kennedy, she came and told me and said "I called for Jaxon to come save me but he didn't here me!" A little bit later we witnessed a little kicking going on between Jaxon and the kid. And when Charlie got mad at Kennedy for sliding down the slide with him and hit her Jaxon jumped on him and said something like "Next time I'm going to punch you!" She's got her own little body guard, smart girl!

The Joys of Housework with Kenya
I'm sure many of you can relate to this but it's not easy getting stuff done with this little one around! Here are a few pictures of what she does all day if we're home.
She loves when I bring the vacuum out. She thinks it's funny when she sits on it and i can't push the vacuum any more.
She is constantly on the counter or table. She climbs on the bar stools really well and has been for a few months now. Here she is caught with her hand in a dessert.
Finger prints! Need I say more? I wonder how this one got on a cupboard so high up!? Looks like a charlie print.
Last but not least, pulling things out of drawers and cupboards! she is wearing an old hat of Charlie's that she found and put on her little head.

Happy Birthday Charlie!
Charlie turned 4 years old today! He was so excited, he's been telling everybody for the past month or two that he is four and when I tell him "not yet" he says "I know but I'm just pretending!" So now that he's officially four that's the first thing he's been telling everybody- "Hi, I'm four!" Most of his friends are four so he's been very anxious I think! He had a very eventful week starting off with going to his friend Kody's birthday party (they were born on the same day and we use to be neighbors, crazy huh?) at Chuck E. Cheeses. He knew all about it (from commercials) and really just wanted to see the mouse and see if he talked. He had a blast. Then we went to Disney on Ice with the Sayes fam (pictures to come) Saturday we had all of his cousins over for our weekly kid swap (pictures to come) and Sunday was his big day! We had the family over for cake and ice cream. Charlie was pretty excited about his cake. I made an Optimus Prime Transformer cake and he loved it. Actually Mark was the one who really liked it, I think he wished it was for him. :) Monday was his friends party at Kangaroo Zoo and Tuesday is his "special day" at preschool. So as you can see he's been busy, or I've been busy!
That is the cheesiest smile ever! I think he's actually saying Cheese! This is Sunday morning before church, little cuties.
The cake. Mark wanted a picture with it. :) To be fair so did I. It took me a long time (about 4 hours cooking and decorating time.) And it didn't taste that good (It was too dry, sorry everyone!) But luckily all Charlie cared about was what it looked like.
Charlie and his cousins on my side (like you couldn't tell :))
Samara was late to the party so she made it up to him by giving him a birthday kiss! Well he couldn't get enough and kept asking for more!
Cake number 2 for party number 2 at the Kangaroo Zoo! This one tasted much better and it was pretty healthy for a cake. It had yogurt and pumpkin in it, very moist I've been eating it all night! Yes he loves transformers and before his birthday he didn't have any, now he has an army he's so excited!
These are the only pics from Kangaroo Zoo that I have because they took a bunch and are mailing a cd so I didn't take many.
Well, Happy Birthday bud! What a great kid you are, I can't believe it's been four years since you came into our lives. We love every bit of you and are such proud parents. Some nights we lie in bed telling eachother funny stories of the things you've done recently. You're always keeping us on our toes. Oma said today after she talked to you on the phone that you're the only grand kid that she doesn't have to ask so many questions to on the phone. You just talked her ear off, all about your birthday and your friends. Even asked her what she was going to be for Halloween! Such a friendly boy. We love you Charlie, Happy Birthday!!

New Pictures
As you may have noticed from the new picture on my header we got some new pictures taken. Charlie is turning four and Kenya is almost 18 months so I had my friend Paige do a little photo session. She's been doing photography for a few months and she did a great job! You can find her photography blog here. Let's just say it's not easy getting pictures with a busy 18 month old who didn't have a good nap and a stubborn 4 year old! :) I was going to be happy if we had just one turn out. I actually love that they're not pulling the cheesy smile in any of them. :) Thanks Paige! so here are just a few...
I love the brick wall in this finish. It adds such a cool texture to the picture.
He looks so big! I put this hat on him which he didn't love but insisted on wearing it backwards.

Trick or Treat!
Ok so I know I've done like twelve posts in the last two days but we've been busy! We had a fun Halloween. Mark and I started the day by going to our ward temple session at 7 am. It was a great way to start our day I love going in the morning! Anyway, we didn't really have anything planned on Halloween during the day so I had Cami and her kids come over and we frosted cupcakes and scrounged some stuff up to try and decorate them with. They weren't the cutest but we had fun. :) Charlie didn't understand the concept of decorating a few of them, not decorate one, eat it, decorate one, eat it. That night my whole fam went to Cami's for dinner then we came back here for trick or treating. Mark took the kids and Charlie was so proud of all the candy he brought home. He loves sorting through it and showing it to everyone that comes in our door. Kenya loves sorting through it too and trying to eat it but getting nowhere (thank goodness for wrappers!) I'm having a hard time taking good pictures with my camera or maybe it's getting my kids to sit still, so sorry for all the blurry ones!
Here are the decorators. Charlie was really proud of this one.
Here's Charlie with our cute neighbor Kennedy.
The little black kitty. She wiped her nose and whiskers off pretty quick.
And the most exciting part, looking at all the candy you got! I always loved laying out all my candy and sorting through it, bargaining candy trades with my brothers and sisters, bragging about how many full size or king size candy bars you got!:) Charlie was really excited about the big sweet tarts and starburst that he got.
And next year I am going to dress up, (I say this every year but now you can all hold me to it!)

First Haircut and Halloween Preschool Program
I know Kenya has hardly any hair but it's amazing how much of a difference a little trim makes! Her hair looks so much better now that all the little scragglies on the end of her hair are gone. She was great too, a binky, baby einstein and her little high chair, she couldn't be happier!
Charlie had a little preschool singing program the day before Halloween. He was a great singer and it was fun to hear how the songs that he's been singing at home really go. :) His favorite was 5 green goglins (goblins) jumping on the bed. And "Look at my big googly eyes." He's really loving preschool and his teachers.
Here is Octupus Prime, he was all business at first, so serious. The mask did come off once he started singing.
