Snow again

I have been working the morning shift since Tuesday. Their monring shift is 5.30am . I got to wake up at 3.45am. How can this pig do it? Stun.

Tomorrow for me here is saturday. My requested off day. Jen, me and the 5 nice NTU people are going to Flagstaff to shop. Flagstaff is the nearest town we can go to. Journey from Gand Canyon to Flagstaff takes about 2 hours drive.

Finally I can get out of the national park after 1 whole week here.

Oh, early in the morning, I have to walk to the bus stop to gp to my work place. IT IS FREEZING in the morning. OMG. Super duper cold. Crazy!

Today is the thrid day I see snow in my whole life. First was when I just reached USA. Second was yesterday. Third today.

I like working at my work place. It is similar to the GV work, frontline server. Siap siap shui. Peanut. People here super nice, friendly. Cant avoid slackers. I think there is slackers everywhere. Me as usual, after the 4 years training in GV, always putting on a smiley face when serving. Zhi ye bing.

Just worried cant earn back money. That is the worst for me.

Jen work as a dining room server. Very tough job, maybe like banquet, or even worst. Need take orders, serve, meet people's needs, cashiering. Tough bah. Many things to do. But her tips for the 4 days totaled USD$200 plus.

Intenet Super not stable

OMG... I cant stand the wireless connection here. Super unstable. I can not have wireless internet access for a few days.

It snowed today again. Wanted to take some pictures but too lazy. My working hours is rather short. How can I earn back my $3800?

Qian zai lei lei. Help. I needa wait for the Thailand people to return to their country before they allow us, Singaporean to work longer hours.

Deer's Attack

This morning went MSN at 9am. Orientation starts at 10am. Singapore is 12 midnight. Sister came online chat with me. She woke fatty niu niu up and we started a on-way web cam conversation. Luckily it is sunday morning, niu niu not that sleepy.

Heng they can not see me through web cam, if not they see me cry like siao. Miss you guys, love you my stupid and lame family.

Oh think yesterday I called back home and ah ma there using the international phone cards. Talked for a few minutes. Now then I realized how expensive it is for the Bangladeshis to call home. Poor thing, worst if the connection sucks. The ringing is also counted as a fee. Thus best is to pick up the phone immediately.

After dinner, Cyndi, Jen and me is walking back to our hall. Jen saw a big deer, and the deer is blocking our most fang bian way back to hall. We tried walking near the deer, hoping to pass it. Deer saw us, came towards our direction. I stood right in front, didn't know what to do. Shit! I am going to be knocked by a deer. It came so close to me. I wanted to run but Cyndi says don't run. Deer will run after us like a dog.

It came super close, I am prepared for it to lick me, but very worried that deer will attack me too. Thanks to Cyndi, telling me to move backwards slowly then the deer stopped moving towards me. Heng ar.

Maybe I stood too close to the deer, intruding the deer's territory. Deer's approach may just signal that it wants me to back off.

Stun. Relief.

Jealousy in Friendship

Hey. It is good to socialize, to be friendly and to make new friends.

But I think effort need to be made to maintain the old ones too. There may be a stage where friends became too close but still possible to preserve the friendship without much contact.

Maybe that is because we have one another in our hearts. The perception of the friend still stay with you and we assume that the friend will always be that way, hopefully. As time passes, the friend may have changed, but we do have the specific impression of how the friend should be.

If it is just a minor change, we can accept and be friends forever.

If it is a major change, friends will be drifted further apart. What we have left is the memorable memories we had previously. We will lose contact forever.

Anyway, what I wanted to say is that many of us may have forgotten that there is always something called jealousy among friendship.

I know that it is good to socialize, be friendly, but I am just a human, with flaws. I always see what I see, I may be influenced. I tried to take it easy but, hmm can’t leh. At least show that I am still the one you would like to look for when you have something to share. Be it a good piece of new or a bad one. I may not be the first person in your mind always. But there bound to be once, right?

Jealousy…

Hey all. Finally I can blog. Haha.

Ok firstly, I ALMOST cried on the day of departure, which is what nini is expecting, but no. Haha! Can’t throw my own face ma.

Called and met up with Clemence along with a group of 5 more super nice people from NTU before boarding the plane to Taiwan. Maybe, NTU people are really more hyper and out-going than NUS’s toots. I am too, from NUS.

Departed Singapore at 2pm. Reached Taiwan at 5 plus. The trip was ok, watch “Cant be your Woman”, “Kang Xi Lai Le with Stephen Chow”, played games and listened to music. Time passed rather fast.

I didn’t do the “I love Taiwan” action as the connecting flight is 10 mins away, and I am too pai seh lah.

6 plus took off from Taiwan and the start of the 11 hours journey to Los Angeles. I got separated from Jen as there are no more seats for us. Booked too late. But I managed to get change one of the seats to an aisle.

As predicted by me, some of you may remember, I guessed that I will have my menses on the plane. It came true. Call me god please. I am that damn accurate lor. How suay can I be? Menses on the long-haul plane. WTH. Heng I asked for an aisle and thank you Jen for letting me have that seat instead of being stuck in between of 2 people. I will die in the middle.

Watched “Dan in real life”, “Freaky Friday”, “Zhuan Yan Zhui Zhui Zhui”, “Super Idol from Taiwan”, “Story of Twins, Triples and quads”. By the way I took EVA Airline, that is why most of the variety show is from Taiwan.

I wanted to die taking the plane ride. It was super duper unbearable. There isn’t much spaces for me to sleep too. I love lying flat to sleep. Oh I had 3 meals altogether on the 2 plane rides. It is like so siao can. Do nothing and keep eating. Diet plan day 1 failed.

Reached Los Angeles at 7am Singapore time. It is still 4 pm plus in LAX. There is a 15 hours lag. Checked out took extremely long.

Timing all in USA now.

Let’s start with 11th May 2008, 5pm in LAX.

The Los Angeles airport is like kind of warm. Once stepped out of the airport, we childhood dream came true. It is to have sunshine while having air-conditioning temperature outdoor. It is so cooling and so many ang mohs look like statue while they are not moving. We a group of asian people created a scene and topic for them to chat about.

The flight doesn’t really end here after those 15 hours. We waited for another 2 hours to hop into USA domestic flight to Phoenix, Arizona at 7pm plus. The domestic flight is another hour.

Reached Phoenix at 8pm plus. The Phoenix airport is much better than the LAX airport. How can it be? Strange.

Took van from Phoenix airport to Greyhound bus station, paid US$6.

Found out that there are 7(including me and Jen) of the 27 of all the students going to Grand Canyon, did not reply to a helpful student who volunteered to book the tickets from Greyhound in Phoenix to Flagstaff, Arizona too and accommodations. Thus the 7 of us had to stay overnight at Greyhound station.

20 people left Greyhound at 1130pm.

12th May 2008, 12 am.

7 of us tried to sleep, but the position we are having is really too uncomfortable. We woke up after the more 30 mins of nap. Since the plane ride, most of us did not have any sleep. It is a torture to me as I am a Pig. Singapore timing is 3pm 13th May. And I am still travelling to Grand Canyon. Ned to thank nini for your cookies, my dinner.

Played games using laptop to ao the most difficult time from 3 am to 5 am. We had tickets for the 910am bus ride, US$29.

Sunrises at around 5m. Strolled around Greyhound and the scenery is beautiful and aircon again.

Bus journey started at 910 am. Finally reached Flagstaff at 12. Rushed to the Social Security Centre at 2 pm plus to apply for the Social Security number. Only with this number then I can work in USA. Only then we found out that the bus to Grand Canyon National Park for the day is fully booked. There are only 2 trips offered by 2 companies I think.

SHIT!!! How suay can we be? Look for a motel, each one is charged US$18.40 for one night. We checked-in, saw the 20 people checking–out. I concussed after a bathe at 4 pm plus. Woke up again near 7 pm to strolled around Flagstaff. Super cold again. I didn’t know that it is that cold. I thought it will be around 20 degree C. Backed into hostel by 8 pm. Surf net to mail to bro and sis. Slept at 9 pm until the very next morning. Cold until don’t know what to say.

13th May 2008, 630 am.

It snowed. SNOW!!! For the first time of my life, I saw snow. It was snowing early in the morning. How beautiful it is and how fortunate foe us to see snow in May.

Had our free breakfast provided. Eat until we are super full to make the money worth and since I did not have any dinner. Built small snowman and played mini snowball fight.

These few days, I think I got dehydration can. Super dry weather and not much water to drink.

Took a Flagstaff Van to Grand Canyon National Park at 830 am, US$ 19. FINALLY reached Grand Canyon at 10 am plus. On the way we met a friendly 19 years old American guy.

Settled paper work and drug test and accommodation rooms only at 4 pm plus. The workers here need to have their lunch from 12 pm to 130 pm. We went for ours then. Quite cheap with the workers’s rate.

Jen and I have to split rooms. Me living with one ang moh girl and Jen supposed to stay with another ang moh lady too. Our rooms were next to each other. But due to reasons, Jen shifted into a room with the friendly NTU girl, Cyndi, and a don’t know who, Bathaiya I think. Her name sounded like a girl guide camping song. Cause their room has an extra bed. Heng.

My room is very dirty but heng is that the ang moh girl is quite friendly lah.

Signed up a sunset tour around Grand Canyon with Jen, Lin and Jie, after the NTU people told us about that free sunset tour. Lin and Jie are the other 2 girls out of the 7 people.

Tour is at 550pm. After the tour is 8pm plus. We walked further for dinner cause the nearer one was closed at 7pm.

Saw Gigantic Antelopes next to our Colter Dormintary. Bathed and started blogging.

People here are super friendly. But can sense that some are rather fake but some are really nice people. They like to talk a lot.

Missed you guys. Love Ya. Tell fatty niu niu I love her ya. I ok living here de. No worries though there are many things not settled yet.

See you guys soon.
