Busy semester~

Saturday, November 26, 2005

Sorry ppl..I'm chasing after time these days..Loads of assignments and tests kept me away from the computer for few weeks..This coming Monday there's another accounts paper waiting for me which I haven't started yet. Moreover, I didn't understand what the lecturer lectured for the past few weeks..Gotta catch up all those he thought myself. After this accounts exam, we have to pass up our management account assingment and another assignment on Law a week after that. The week after law assignment, tests on audit and law will be conducted..cham~ This semester is mostly assignments and tests. It's all because of the raya and deepavali holiday!!!shorten our semester duration which caused all the lecturers rush everything within the short time...It's rather sad than happy..

Japanese classes ended last Thursday. Japanese exam is on next Thursday..Not sure how I'll do for the exam..wahh~!!!exams exams exams...can become insane one day...

By the way, these are my group photos taken last week for our college's e-journal...

Langkawi

Wednesday, November 02, 2005

Just came back from Langkawi.. It was a tiring trip but enjoyable for a sick person like me..
Well, this is how the story goes...

29/10/05 night ~ 30/10/05
I was having flu that night (quite terrible flu). After an 8 hours journey to Kuala Perlis jetty, my flu was getting better (surprisingly). Perhaps insuffient sleep made my body weaker cz every stop the bus made, I'll wake up..
When we reached Langkawi, we went for shopping at those duty free shops from the time we reached till 5pm. In between, we visited the birds park, underwater world of Langkawi and Mahathir's Gallery.
Here are some nice shots I've took..

The main symbol of Langkawi~ meaning of Langkawi is actually describing the colour (kawi) of the eagle (heLANG). If this shot is not taken when u went to Langkawi, it simply means that you have not been to Langkawi..haha...

From left: Shirley, cousin sis , mum(Shirley also) and Khuan at the same place of the great eagle statue but sitting opposite the Helang...
At the Bird Park..

at the underwater world..

This anaconda is the heaviest snake in the world weighing up to 250kg and the length measuring up to 8.8m. It is fed on capybara, deer, fish, turtles and cayman in the wild. Food is ususually taken in whole, allowing it to fast uo to 6 months.

Weird type of penguins..
Looks like weeds but it's not.. It's seadragon...

Creatures that glows in the dark..
That evening I went to swim with cousins, brother and Shirley as I felt alright and no signs of sickness. Who knows that night, during dinner, I felt very very cold and did not have appetite to eat. But I managed to eat something..After that, we went shopping but I was terribly sick..Having fever.. My cousin said that my forehead is very very very hot but I felt cold instead..I slept early that night.

31/10/05
Surprise!!! I had recovered over the night!! This day, we went for island hopping the whole day eventhough it was raining.. Everything was fine till lunch when I started to throw out those undigested food..I felt much better after throwing..

1/11/05
We started our journey as early as 7.45am and reached home at 8pm..My body is aching till today..

Indian Food for Dinner

Saturday, October 15, 2005

I've never had Indian food for dinner till today. Normally, I'll just have a roti canai and a cup of teh tarik for snack. But, tonight, Kenn took me to old town for dinner at the Indian mamak shop.. The rice with vegetables and curry fish filled my stomach very fast. An additional cup of teh tarik, a little bit of mee goreng and rava onion made me feel full but the level of satisfaction is pretty high as this can be considered a special dinner for a cold, rainy night like today. Sitting under the fan, cold wind blowing from outside nearly caused me to shiver. However, the warmness and spicyness of the food calmed me down..hehe..
Once in a blue moon have some different type of food is syok!!!haha..I'm making people abroad jealous as they do not have the chance to enjoy the delicacies over there..Sorry ya, people who are studying in countries like UK and Australia...hehe..
Cheers!!~~

1st week of college

Friday, October 14, 2005

10/10/05
Today is the new begining of a new semester. Meeting old friends, chit-chatting, lectures, giving out notes, settling our group stuffs and so forth has became routine for me. The 1st lecture we had was Financial Accounting Practical. This was taught by Mr Soo, lecturer who used to be our Financial Accounting lecturer. Tak sangka this semester him again..He's pretty good in calculations but certainly not theories. This new FAP is mostly theories. I guess I shall sleep through his lectures..haha..

11/10/05
Management Accounting and Tamadun Islam today...MA was pretty ok as this subject is a continuation of last semester's MAF. The only difference is MA goes more detailed into theories compared to calculation last semester. As for Tamadun Islam dan Asia, the lecturer is a Malay but sounds kinda funny cz he talks kinda fast and difficult for me to catch his English terms sometimes. This is a stupid subject as our college made this subject compulsory for all the students!!!The lecturer is gonna teach us mostly on Tamadun Islam and touch a little on Tamadun Asia like Jepun, Cina, India...reminds me of Sejarah!!!

12/10/05
Introduction to law and Auditing!!!Law didn't learn much today but for auditing, the lecturer was like rushing for time and talk talk talk and talk..I didn't understand what she was trying to say at first. However, I tried hard enough to imagine and visualise the concept and I got it!

13/10/05
Demand, Supply, Elasticity and Taxes are the topics for today's Business Economics..This is the most interesting subject as it is also the combination of Microeconomics and Macroeconomics from 1st and 2nd semester..As it is very familiar to me and I got most of what the lecturer meant, it's pretty easy for me..BUT, consistent studies are needed to excel me in getting good grades..

14/10/05
LAW!!!INTERESTING!!!Ms Anne got us 2hours non-stop for this subject explaining what are laws, why do we need laws, who set the law, how laws are form and bla bla bla...She made us visualise law in our usual life before entering to the business law..It's a good head start..
After Law session, we went for a relaxing session in Petro Sains, KLCC..Although some things are pretty lame in there, there are some excitement which caught our attentions and we really had a wonderful time in there...10 bucks wor..of course la!!!

Overall of the subjects in this semester:-
- Theories are a lot in this semester
- Consistent studies are needed!!!
- Attention in class and lectures are crucial!!!

Abnormal Sunday

Sunday, October 09, 2005

Wow..today is a super duper Sunday not only cz parents not in but I went out since 9.30am till 9pm..Woohoo~Had lots of fun in the Ampang temple, ate Hakka Noodles in Cheras and spent precious time in KLCC..We enjoyed this day to the max as college is going to start tomorrow where the time will be locked to studies, assignments and tutorials as well as lectures. And the most surprising thing for today is we spent less than RM20 including petrol to travel all the way from PJ to Cheras.
It was extremely warm in the crowded temple. The sun was brightly shinning and there wasn't a drop of rain for the whole day. Although the smoke was thick enough to suffocate a person, people were busy burning incense and praying for the best of luck for themselves. We prayed that everything goes well for everybody including family, friends and ourselves. So, hopefully everything really goes the way they are suppose to go..

Insomnia

Friday, October 07, 2005

I'm not sure what had happened to me. I've been suffering from insomnia for the past few nights. I kept waking up in the middle of the night, having bad dreams that seem so real and I kept turning left and right on the bed. The day before yesterday I felt as though I did not sleep and dreams kept coming after me and I've to wake up early to the office. I slept at 12.30am this morning and forced to wake at 6am because I've to take brother to school. Although sis slept earlier than me, she did not make the effort to wake up early to take bro to school perhaps she's too tired yesterday. Haiyo..I don't want this to happen anymore cz college gonna start soon..I can't stay up so long without a proper sleep!!!Please help me...If you have any suggestions to cure this, pls tell me...

Home Alone~

Thursday, October 06, 2005

Oh nooo...Daddy and mummy went to Nepal this afternoon..Only the 4 of us and the maid again being left behind for 5 days.

My new semester is going to begin in 4 days time. I felt a little guilty as I had not completed my revisions on both Micro and MacroEconomics. Well, I do think there are still some information in my skull after 2 semesters didn't touch them.

As promised, I'd finally completed the Falling Leaves (the true story of an unwanted Chinese daughter). It was filled with China history since 1880s. Wars and conflicts among siblings and parents can be found in every chapter. The author narrated her as the Chinese daughter who had been badly discriminated since she was born and worse when her father married a French woman. Although she had became a successful anaesthesiologist, settled down with a family of her own in America, and she had tried to reunite her broken family caused by her stepmother, her efforts were being treated as betrayal to her stepmother because of her own sister who stepped her down privately to their stepmother. The complicated conflict had been described in the book. When the parents passed away, the author did not get any share from them as she was being described as a betrayer by the stepmother. The author was very frustrated eventhough she had helped a lot during the last few years before her parents' death and did not get a penny at the end while her brothers and sister, who had been the real betrayers, got the share of all the properties and jewelleries.
So, this is the summary of it. It might be difficult to understand what I was trying to say because there were too many characters to be known and this small little part is not enough for me to write. If anybody wants to know more, I'll try my best to describe it more detail.

Below is the front cover of the book and that little cute girl's picture is the younger version of the author when she was young.

For these last few days before my new semester begins, I'll be in around in my parents' office. I'll be bored and might think of what to write.

Syuen's Farewell

Friday, September 30, 2005

This was our farewell party for Cherrie Chee Syuen-Yin..She's leaving for UK on Sunday. These are the pictures we took today at One Utama. After waiting for hours for the VVIPs from Samad to arrive, we finally settled down at Esquire Kitchen for lunch.

See, how impatient were Jin Ning and Yin Wei till wanna ZzZzzZZzzz. However, there were a group who were overexcited to meet old friends although they are still in the same school now. Pity Ben Lee, the only guy at the end of the table. At the end, after a great arrangement by our OCs (Aipomz and kenn), he ended up with the guys at another end.
Group photo 1:- Syuen was too excited for this photo session till she raised her hand up and said," Hey, I'm the main person today, take a picture of me!!!"..Look at Aipomz, she was about to stand up and say," ehh..cannot..must take all of us, don't take only Syuen!!!"..Jae Mie was in between them, she didn't know what to do but to laugh..Meanwhile, the Esquire Kitchen waitress was smiling as well cz in her mind was" look at me, although I'm not their group but I stand a chance to be in the photo!!!"..haha..actually she was saying "HI" to Leona who just returned from somewhere.

Here goes our 1st group photo..

Holiday~Day 7~

Tuesday, September 27, 2005

Wuuuahahhhh...Time flies when we are having fun..2nd year's 1st semester has ended and I'm in the 7th day of the semester break. Another 2 weeks of holidays before we, TARCians, meet again..In other words, our loads of assignments, tutorials and lectures will be handed into our hands again and the most scary thing in college is the RESULTS!!!

What have I accomplished this holiday?
Let's see...
Right after exams, I started on a book by Sidney Sheldon "Tell Me Your Dreams". It took me 5 days to finish reading it. This book is marvellous. It gives many unexpected scenes and senarios. The language Sheldon used is very understandable and can really make me imagine myself in the scene. This story is about the MPD (Multiple Personalities Disorder) being encountered by a young lady in the States. She had murdered and castrated men who tried to XXX with her. Her tendency to murder and castrate is caused by her past experience when she was young. This led to a legal case which is to prove that she did not murder the victims and to prove that it was done by her alters. The process of curing MPD is included in the story. Although there were many things that stroke the young lady's life, a phycologist succesfully cured her and returned her to lead the beautiful life she once lead.

Next, I started on another book called " The True Story Of An Unwanted Chinese Daughter". But I'll inform u guys when I've finished reading it.

Hmm..I'm going for golf this afternoon with my brother and sister. Hopefully it will be an enjoyable game for us.

Freedom~

Wuhuu..at last I had finished my exams...Completed this semester..
the next thing I'll be worried of is my results..die mannn...I wouldn't know what I'll get for this semester whether I'm qualified for the scholarship for advanced level..Hopefully I'll get it so that I can reduce my parents' burdens on academy...

For this last paper, it's pretty easy compared to other papers..However, there are 2 calculations part on the multiple choice that I couldn't calculate as I think the questions are not complete. But at least I "shoot" for the closest I think is the answer..

Exams week

Saturday, September 17, 2005

huhuu...finished 4 papers already in this whole week. It had been a tough week for me as exams are on for the whole week (from Monday till Saturday). So, here is the schedule and a little spice to them..

Monday (12/09/2005)
Organisation and Human Resource paper
I had spent plenty of time doing notes for this subject and went through many times those mentioned important from the lecturer. However, things went very very wrong on that day as I had planned earlier to stay at home to study more and planned to go through the past year questions at home but things turned down when my somebody asked me to take my youngest brother to school and I had to make a sudden change to my schedule.
Later during the exams, I browsed through the paper before it started. To my surprise, I found that the objectives questions were very easy and straight forward. But, the essay questions were difficult and they were rather indirect and I did not know what the question exactly want. All I can hope for now is that my answers are all that the examiner wants.
Night time, something really bad happened to me as something stressed me out even more than what I'd encountered in the morning and during exams until somebody doesn't want to talk to me anymore.

14/09/2005
English Paper
This paper is quite moderate to the TARCians but for me, I'd spent most of my time on graph intepretation and on letter writting which took up a lot of my precious time which I should have spent in comprehension part. When the invigilator said, "5 minutes more", I was still at question number 7 out of 9 questions of the comprehension part. As a result, I simple crapped some rubbish in to fill up the empty spaces of the exams sheet.
After this English paper, Emily and I went to the MPPJ library to continue our battle for Managing Information Systems subject. Later, Kenn joined us in the library. This is the day when the stupid security guard of the library came over and warned us because we were writing on the paper to communicate instead of talking!!!!!!!We were horrified by the stupid guard's action and we left the library early.

16/09/2005
Managing Information Systems paper
For MIS is the exceptional paper which is being scheduled in the morning and it is also the paper that took us 3 hours to complete this exams. As I'd prepare a lot for this paper even before the study break, I somehow have some faith in this paper. It turned out quite alright. Although some of the questions are rather tough and took me time to do, I spent my 3 hours writing non-stop. I was sort of became lazy towards the last 15 minutes when I was still struggling to answer a 15 marks questions which requires the 5 main steps of the SDLC because I have many things in mind to write but my mind was quite unorganized and I had 2 more questions at that time. At last, TIME'S UP..HAH~~ My breath was relieved and my mind was empty at that moment. It was filled with joy as our toughest paper had finally completed!
However, this is not the end for this week! I had another paper the next day (Saturday)..I spent hours reading and understanding the entire set of notes and tutorials as I had forgot those I'd read before..What a short memory I have!!!

17/09/2005
Fundamentals of Finance
Finance seems to be an easy and simple subject. It has the least notes to read and the past year questions look easy. BUT, this paper is the most confusing paper and I had not enough time to do all the questions..well, I mean I finished all just in time but do not have extra time to check those I'd done. This is the reason that my 8 marks for 1 question confirmed gone..and I do not know how many more marks I'd lost!!!feel like crying..I should have judged this subject by the notes and the past year questions..I have learn my lesson..please let me get an A for this finance paper.....
Right after this exams, I had a tea break feast in Mid Valley..I ate everything I want just to release the tension I have had for this whole week...I'm feeling much better now and I'm ready to start revisions for my last paper on the coming Tuesday..

Financial Accounting Exams~ Day 1

Friday, September 09, 2005

I fetched my brother to school today and I drove to college as usual and reached college at 7.30am..izzn't that very early?

I began studying and memorising the theories and concepts as well as the formats for FA at 8.30am in the library all by myself coz my friend, Emily, did not turned up..but this is a good thing for me as I get to concentrate more in memorising..This is due to the reason if my friends are around me, I'll be wandering around and relax..FA is my main paper, that's why have to get A..

12pm arrived..Emily picked me up from the library for lunch..After that, we had a simple talk so that we will not be stressed over exams..As our normal saying,"Time flies when we are having fun"..1.30pm came by and all the 3 of us got ready and so we were ready for exams!

2 hours had passed..

I was rushing to finish my exams questions..Luckily, I managed to finish everything on time and corrected one of the question which was imbalanced..In between that 2 hours I was suffering under the cold environment as the fan and air-cond are blowing quite direct to me..

Huuhhh...after exams everybody was rushing home until traffic jam can happened in the college for more than half an hour! can you believe it?!

everywhere is jam jam jam and jam!!!!!!OBVIOUSLY!!!!!IT'S A FRIDAY NIGHT...

There goes my day for this very special 9/9/05...
