Thanks Brendon for your call to ask about Haoming and the family! Yah, i'd been lacking in updating the blog lately. Just not sure what to write about as we don't have exceptional good news to share about Haoming's progress.. or unable to report the outcome we have all been praying for yet.

Reflecting on my very short status call, I found that there are updates regardless.. ! Will try to continue celebrate every little success, and share them wherever possible.

Emily, I'd been reading your postcards aloud to Haoming, keep sending them ok? :)

Acupuncture
We have started Haoming on regular acupuncture treatment recently. Managed to find a physician that is willing to make housecall and convinced mum to continue to try. The acupuncture are to help to stimulate the brain cells, and 'loosen' his limbs to make movements easier. We are starting to see him move his legs abit more over the months, and after a week of acupuncture, Dad is thrilled to find that HM managed to 'kick' a cushion off his bed one morning.

There are some highs and lows with the treatments, and latest with mum getting overwhelmed with the possibility that HM may turn into a different person or even violent when he wakes up. We can't deny that it is a remote possibility.. among all the positive or negative outcomes that only God will decide. She has got her imagination run wild for a few days thinking back at what we saw at the hospital, and it took me and dad quite a while to convince her that we can only take one day at a time.

Chinese medication is prescribed and we juggle between chinese and western medicine intake.

NUH Neuro Doctor Review
This is quite a none event, that the doctor only check that the BP shunt is working and HM is well looked after. Trachy will have to stay as he is still producing phlegmn and the family is to monitor and decide when we want to remove the shirley. No other advise except that we can only continue to wait, and the next appointment is scheduled 6mths later.

Coma Therapy
We stopped coma therapy sessions with Peter & helpers involvement. Did not manage to fill the expected slots deemed effective for HM, but we are continuing with the exercises on our own.

Home care
We have been feeding liquids to HM by mouth (against speech therapist's advise :) since he's home. Recently mum progress to feed HM rice porride water which he takes to well at times, so we continue to hope that mum will be able to feed HM his favourite food: fried chicken one day. :D

There are sometimes that we seem to drift to a different diamension and forgot where we are. Mum and Dad on two separate occasions called and ran after a tall, well-built guy that appear in our neighbour, bearing much resemblance to Haoming.. much to the our new neighbour puzzlement. While I have the tendency to drive abit hazardly when a youthful guy riding a bike follows behind my car.. reminding me of times when we leave home for work together in the mornings.

I missed my brother...

Sorry I'm abit late in saying this..

thank you to the friends who dropped by to celebrate Haoming's birthday! Despite your efforts with the loud birthday song, he just ain't very cooperative to stay awake.

In fact, the bugger suspiciously only want to open his eye when the crowd left. It happened for 2 consecutive nights so mum is nagging at him for doing it 'on purpose'.
