The shunt is able to drain the fluid in HM's brain much better when he sat upright. Overnight, the site with skull bone removed due to his craniotomy/brain surgery totally sunk in. We are aware from the size of skull bone removed that it's substantial. But it still takes a while to take in the shock.. the different look. I can only ask visitors to try to be prepared..
When HM comes out of coma, we can get an artificial skull bone replacement surgery done. Think we wouldn't want him to go under the knife again anytime soon.

HM is abit lethargic today.. he must be tired.

HM's spinal surgery finally goes thru this morning!
It's the 1st time after so long, we get to see him propped up, & the enthusiatic nurses are v. happy to put his limbs in different patterns :)
HM is 'big-eye' alert when he got out of OT. He doesn't seem to like the slightly different view fr his bed (upright one).. My fren says he is quite 'chao bean'/black face abt it. :P
It's a great start for the year of pig! Hope he'll maintain the sense of curiosity abt things around him.. & become more aware soon.

The results of HM's shunt surgery is more visible now, the area with the skull bone removed started to dent/sink in abit as the swelling caused by the water retention goes down.

I'm declaring 17-19feb CNY break.. so dun worry abt ur slots then. Think your family wudn't want u folks visiting the hospital during chinese new year.

It's a stuffy day today at the hospital, seems pending rain yet it didnt.
All the patients in HM's ward ran fever, HM has slight fever too.. but it's quickly arrested by mum who is ever so sensitive to his temperature & needs. I'm more worried that some virus/bacteria is affecting & spreading among them. Keeping my fingers crossed that HM will remain fever (virus/bacteria) -free & best condition in the next few days..
