Days Like These
I have decided to rename my blog to "Days Like These" after the title of a song by Over the Rhine. Right now in my life I am trying to focus on the days I have, days surrounded by the love of family and friends, days full of sunshine, days full of long talks and coffee, and days of just the mundane. These are all days that I love.
If I can keep up with the blog those are the things that I hope to write about, days that when recalled bring a smile to my lips or even perhaps a tear to my eye!
Big Boy Bed
We finally got Hudson's bed set up. Let's just say it is really big! He loves it so much. He loves being a "big boy".
I remember laying him in his crib (which has turned into his bed) the first time. It is so hard for me to believe that in a few short months my "baby" will be three! I am trying to enjoy each day for the gift it is to me.
On another note Hudson just told me that he was getting married. I asked to who and he said "himself." He is quite the character!

My Boy is Growing Up!
It's so hard to believe that Hudson is two and half years old already! He is a joy and wonderful boy all around!
God is answering my prayers in a big way with this little guy. Ever since Aliyah has had potty training issues, going on two years now! I asked God to let Hudson potty train himself! Guess what?! He is doing it. He loves to sit on the potty and he usually goes every time he sits! Also, he woke up dry today! I am amazed at the goodness of God. Maybe to most potty training isn't a big deal, but for me I think that He knows what I can handle. So, I am thanking Him big time for this blessing.
Hudson is now in an official big boy bed. The picture you see here is the set up we have right now. We have a beautiful sleigh bed that will go in his room and matches with the rest of his furniture. It started out as his crib. We are just waiting until we can get a double mattress, who knows when that will be. I looked on Craig's List yesterday and decided that even if there was a free one up there it would be a little too gross to give my son a used mattress from someone I don't know. Anybody with me on that? So, we will wait and I am sure get him some cute big boy sheets, because he is all about being a big boy!

2010 Recap
I know that January is almost over but I must say something about 2010. I think that 2010 was one of the best years I have had in very long time. There were some rough patches but that is part of what made it a great year. We got to work through some of the hard things and that has brought a lot of growth in my life. I still have so far to go, of course. I am a life long learner.
Some 2010 Highlights:
Going to Houston with my mom to attend the Siesta Scripture Memory Team we did together
Bill getting an awesome job with a church campus plant
Selling our house in 2 weeks in a slow economy
Finding a great new house that we love
Meeting new people and making new friends
Taking Aliyah to Disney World
Those are just some of the little highlights that remind me of God's faithfulness over and over again. I would be lost without Him guiding and directing our lives! So here is to another great year...

Christmas Recap
We had a great Christmas this year! It was our first Christmas in our new city and new home. We were blessed to be able to renew some traditions and start some new ones. The biggest blessing of all was just being together after some hectic weeks before Christmas and some hectic weeks waiting for us.
We enjoyed Christmas Eve dinner at the Waffle house. It was a fun experience. Hudson charmed everyone and Aliyah was asking all kinds of questions about the people that had to work there all night long. She is very inquisitive. On Christmas Morning we enjoyed a homemade breakfast that was yummy, if I do say so myself. Gifts, more homemade food and lots of together time made Christmas 2010 one of my favorite ones ever.

A Broken Computer
Our computer, which happens to be the main one I use, has been broken for about a month. Our hard drive crashed, so I have been absent on the blog for that reason. Thankfully, we have a mac and actually used time machine to back up everything. Otherwise, I would be a total wreck about it, we would have lost everything. If you don't back up your computer I highly recommend it!
I rarely get to use Bill's computer only because he has it with him all day at work and if he is not using it in the evenings we are usually relating, so I don't want to blog then. Hopefully the end is in sight and the blogging shall recommence! See you soon!
