Cache Valley

Warning! Warning! Huge Post!
Last weekend we went up to Cache Valley to visit some of my family. My Uncle Klark and Aunt Terri let us stay in their gorgeous home and we had so much fun. By the time we left my kids were calling them Grandpa and Grandma. :) My cousin Honna has two boys, Carter and Mason. And my cousin Jessika has a little girl, Sophie.
We went swimming at the Logan Aquatic Center. It was a blast. I can't wait for the one in Cedar to be built. There was a huge kid pool and oh did we play! Gideon finally talked us into taking him down the slide. I went down with him the first time, then he was the brave boy and went by himself a few more times. Carter and Mason were excellent swimmers, and Sophie in her crab floatie reversed all over the pool :)

The next day we went over to a park to help the kids release some energy. It was so fun to have all the kids together. My kids couldn't remember any of the kids names, so I would hear "Where is the big boy?" "Mom, where is the other brother?" And Honna's kids couldn't remember names either, so they just called them all cousins.

I forgot my camera so thankfully everyone else took pictures and sent them home with me. THANK YOU!

Garrett is Jessika's hubby. And he was definitely campaigning to be Gideon's best friend. Gideon begged and pleaded to go on a motorcycle ride. Gideon loved every second. Gideon was a huge flirt on this trip. There wasn't a moment that I wouldn't look over and see him smiling and flashing his dimple at Honna. Or saying "How you doin?" (with the wink) to Monika.

If Gideon got to go on a ride, then Kodi had to go on one too. Isn't that how it always works? Uncle Klark loaded Kodi up for a quick ride around on the "lellow" motorcycle.

Sophie and Heath made out to be quick friends. She is one of the happiest girls ever. And oh does she love to jump. Heath was more than happy to accommodate just to hear her laugh.
We had an excellent weekend that was over way too fast. It was so much fun to catch up with everyone and see every one's kids. THANK YOU for a fabulous weekend Gailey Family!!

Bath Time

I would like you all to welcome back a very misunderstood hairdo. The Mohawk! Yes, this is how my boys emerge from the bathroom when Daddy is in charge of bath time. :)

The Apple Seed

Kodi loves her little swimming goggles. She dressed and accessorized herself this day. Daddy being wrapped around her little finger couldn't help but love that she did this on her own. I will admit that she is adorable, BUT the story behind the hand action fills my heart with joy. When Heath was younger he was an apple seed in "Johnny and the Apple Seed". He held his little arms out and went "oh yeaaaaaaa". In song form of course. Anyways, even now when he does it, I smile, I laugh, it brings me joy. Consequently he taught all the kids to do it. It is not unheard of to walk around my house hearing the random "oh yeaaaaaaaa"! :)

Fun In The Sun

Sandhollow here we come! Ok, so really we already went. It was hot, hot, hot this weekend so what better to do then head to the lake. The kids had a million and one floaties. But within 20 mins the death grips had subsided and we began to have fun. By the time we headed home all the kids were comfortable and didn't want to leave. Kodi wanted to go take one more swim with no floaties. And slowly but surely we are getting used to putting their little faces in the water. Oh, and Tell. My little Tell man. He tried and tried and tried to drink the ENTIRE lake. :)

Motherhood

Tonight is one of those nights where you should just go to bed because tomorrow is bound to be better. One of those nights where you want your children to be good so badly, and they aren't. One of those nights where you are "encouraging" your children to be good, and they aren't. One of those nights where you can't wait for bedtime. But bedtime comes and you just feel like a bad parent. Now they are all safe and comfy in their beds and you are thinking, what kind of a mother are you?? Probably one of those nights that you shouldn't be blogging. :) Here's to a better tomorrow!

We headed to the hills again this last weekend. We borrowed another 4 wheeler so that we could all ride around together. I learned a few fun things on this trip.

1 - Mommy is not nearly as fun as Daddy is on the 4 wheeler. Gideon informed me several times that I was not going as fast as Daddy.

2 - We had the best camping sleeping night yet! Nope, I didn't forget the tent.

3 - There was a really neat log tee pee that someone had built. Kodi did inform me that there were spiders in there.

4 - We had loads of relaxing time in the hammock!

5 - If your children's faces are not dirty while you are camping there is something wrong with you.

It was so beautiful up there. It was some great family time with no interuptions. Daddy cooked us up some authentic camping food. :) Surprisingly, it was yummy. It was a GREAT weekend!!

Oh, we also went swimming at a friends pool on Saturday. I have had some bad experiences with 4wheelers, and also swimming with the kids. So this weekend was a bit of a stretch on my nerves. Hopefully the kids can get more comfortable in the water and I wont have to be so tense. :) And I'm not sure if I will ever be comfortable on the 4wheeler, but we keep trying. :)

4th of July

Like many of you out there, I love the 4th of July. It is one of my very favorite holidays! We had a great day. Heath helped out with the parade and the festivities over at the park, so the kids and I loaded up the triple stroller and headed to the parade. Thankfully we had loads of family there to help me with my excited kiddos! After the parade we came home to enjoy some "Americana Fruit Pizza" (thanks Grandma)! I made some fruit pizza with strawberries and blueberries that looked like a flag. YUMMY! I'm sure that all we eat is Heaven is fruit pizza. :)
Off again to the park, to check on Daddy. OK, and to see all the fun stuff going on over there. But Daddy running the dunk tank was pretty entertaining. :)

That night we had a BBQ in our backyard, and the kids played in their pool and ran through the sprinkler.

And the fireworks! We played with glow sticks, ran around with sparklers and watched the big fireworks. It really was a great day. I am so thankful that we live in this country and enjoy the freedoms that we have!!
