Training for the 5K

"Heath, could you tune-up my bike for me?"
"Sure"

It is Saturday, so naturally the kids are in Heath's back pocket. So my team goes out back to retrieve said bike from the clutches of (I'm being honest here) years of spider webs. They emerge triumphant and head to the garage. After wiping it down, filing the tires with air, and oiling the mechanics. Where Gideon asked 500 times "Why are we painting Mommy's bike?" (He thought the oil was paint) It was ready for a test run!

Who knew that by merely fixing Mommy's bike you would get your own personal training for the next 5k run? On your mark, get set, GO!

Uh oh, you are falling behind. Faster! Faster! (I think you are enjoying this too much Daddy.)

Don't give up now, Shoeless Joe! Well maybe you should. One should never run a marathon without proper footwear.

Slave Labor

We had a few chores to do around the yard yesterday afternoon. We hired some help to get the job done faster. Let my introduce you to our help:

"Finds more rolly polly bugs than anyone" (Kodi)

"Loves the wheelbarrow the most" (Gideon)

"Eats dirty ice off the driveway" (Trace)

Grab the shovels kids! We must move that pile of sand from the driveway in the front to the sandbox in the back.

Uh oh. "Eats dirty ice off the driveway" got some sand in his eyes. Can't imagine how that would happen as all the help are very skilled workers.

He must tell Dad all about the injustice of it all! Enough of this back to work my little minis! At this point you may be thinking about all those child labor laws out there. Well, as the work progressed it turned into this...

Five Years Old

My darling girly turned 5 years old today. She was so thankful and happy the entire day. Kodi has a gift for making everyone she meets feel special and loved. She is a delight to our family and definately the "Princess" around here. :) Happy Birthday Kodi!

Our herd is growing...

Well last week we added to the herd around here. Kodi and Gideon named them for us. Can you guess which kid picked which name? Let me introduce you to our chickens - Bitty and Lola!

Trace is now the ripe old age of 2. :) He wasn't too sure what to think of the whole thing, hence the head on the table picture. But once we got to eating cake he seemed to be just fine. ;)

Hard Workin' Boys

We have been working hard to get our backyard ready for our new garden. Papa got us hooked on Squarefoot Gardening. :) The boys love to "help" Daddy in the backyard. Lots of tools, lots of dirt - what more could you want? I could listen to Gideon jabber to Heath all day. "Dad, nice cut. Dad, I need your hammer. Dad, come look at this Hannah pooped. Dad, what is that? Dad, can I use your saw?" And Trace just follows them around taking anything that is set down and not guarded.
