Prayers Requested

This kid...he’s hilarious, laid back, smart, kind, compassionate, loves BIG, super strong, and very brave. I am in awe of him daily. He has been through more in his 9 1/2 years than most experience in a lifetime, and he does it all with a smile on his face. He just rolls with the punches of life and chooses to be positive and optimistic about it all. I pray I can be more like him!

We would appreciate your prayers for this one of a kind kid this week. After a few good surgery free years, he will be having another heart surgery on Wednesday, June 13. He will be getting a pacemaker. We have always known this would be a possibility, but we of course didn’t expect it at 9 years old. Please pray for a successful procedure Wednesday, easy recovery, and a much stronger (and faster ðŸ˜Š) heart rate afterward. Thank you!

Memorial Day Classic

We got an awesome Burn group together to run the Memorial Day Classic in support of the Crisis Pregnancy Center.  This is the first 5K I have done in probably 5 years, and I am so glad I did.  Before the race, one of the girls reminded me that I need to continue challenging myself...not just pushing others to challenge themselves.  So, before the race started, I challenged myself to run the 5K in 25 minutes.  The fastest I have ever done one is around 27 minutes.  I was so happy to finish it in 23:03!!!!  I beat my goal and PR'd by 4 minutes, which earned me 1st place in my age group and the 5th overall woman!  I think we might have to make this one an annual Burn event!

Surfing Fun

My boys (including Jason) were finally able to try out surfing, and they loved it!!  I see a lot of surfing days in our future!

Last Day of School

The last day of school came way sooner than I ever expected.  With each new grade, I feel like the years go by faster and faster.  It is so hard for us to believe that Brody just completed 5th grade, making him a middle schooler in the fall!!  Colby is now moving on to 4th grade, meaning he only has 2 more years in elementary school.  I've heard the expression, "the days are long, but the years are short" so many times, but I never actually believed it until these sweet boys came into our lives.  I sometimes wish I could slow things down just a little, but since I can't, I just try to cherish every moment I have with them...even on those days that feel extra long!!  : )

Brody received an award for having the highest GPA in his class, and we are so proud of him!! I pray that he continues to love school and works hard to achieve good grades.

Colby received an award for being the most humorous in his class..no surprise there!  This kid is always cracking us up, and apparently he has been cracking his classmates up as well.

First day of school vs last day of school.  These boys have grown quite a bit over the last year!  Goodbye 3rd and 5th grade, hello 4th and 6th grade!!  But first...summer fun!!

Clarksville Soccer Tournament

Brody's team played in their final tournament of the season in Clarksville on May 19th and 20th.  They played up one age bracket to play 11 v 11, and they looked awesome!!  They won two games and tied one, earning them the title of Tournament Champs!!  We have so much fun watching these boys play and continue to grow as a team, and we can't wait to see what they accomplish in the years to come!

Mother's Day

Mothers Day started with brunch in Franklin, followed by watching our little number 9 do what he loves most...play soccer!  He had two great games, and we had a lot of fun cheering him on!

After soccer, we headed straight to the lake.  This was Messi's first time to come on the boat with us, and I think he loved it!  I know I loved having all of my people (and dog) together on the water!!

God has truly blessed me beyond what I could ever deserve. These boys are loving, kind, smart, funny, and fun to be around, and I am so thankful that God chose me to be their mom!!  My prayer is that I am always the mother they need me to be, and I pray that I can be half the mom to them that my mom is to me.

3rd Grade Reading Celebration

At the beginning of the school year, the 3rd grade teachers challenged all of their students to read 40 books by the end of the school year.  After Christmas break, they decided to take the challenge up a little and make it 45, and these kids succeeded!!  To celebrate, they invited family to come and hear a book talk on one of their favorite books, followed by a little reception.  We are so proud of Colby for achieving this BIG goal!!!

After the reception, the kids presented their moms with a present for Mother's Day.  I could not love this little coaster any more!!!  I have one just like it from when Brody was in 3rd grade, and I am very happy to now have a set!
