I cannot believe Brody is 10 years old...double digits...a decade! He is growing up so fast, and there is nothing I can do to stop it. Believe me, I have tried. This boy has always been older and wiser than his years. He is a hard worker, compassionate, loving, and a funny little guy. He has a gift for bringing a smile to my face when I need it the most. We are so thankful for him and for the blessing he is to our family! Happy Birthday Brody Briant!

Family Birthday Dinner
We had the boys' family birthday party on Saturday, August 20. Unfortunately, Jeanine and the girls couldn't make it, and Gacky was sick. We missed having them here, but the boys did enjoy celebrating with the rest of the family. We have truly been blessed with a great family, and we are thankful for any time we can spend together.

First Day of School
I cannot believe these boys are already headed back to school. It feels like the summer just got started, but just like that, we have a 2nd grader and a 4th grader.
Happy 8th Birthday Colby
August 4th is Colby's big day, so we spent the whole day celebrating him turning 8 years old! We are so blessed to call this funny, smart, happy, goofy, strong, brave, and inspirational boy ours. He keeps me on my toes by challenging me daily, but I wouldn't want it any other way. Happy Birthday Colby Chance! I pray this is your best year yet.
Colby's Birthday Sleepover
Colby wanted to have a sleepover with two of his best buddies, Bennett and Myles, to celebrate his birthday this year. These boys ate, played, and had a great time together. I'm so thankful that Colby has great friends to celebrate with!
Another great check up for Colby
Colby had another great cardiology check up on August 2. The only real concern is his slow heart rate, which has actually gotten even slower since his last visit. His body continues to tolerate the slow heart rate well though, so we will just wait and watch...and I will try my best to not worry!
Colby was excited to take his book for Dr. Doyle and Mary Beth to read. It was funny seeing their reactions to some of the things Colby wrote, like when Colby said he always beats Dr. Doyle in the races. This of course led to some additional challenges...push ups, jumping jacks, and the big race in the hall. I'm not exactly sure who won, because I think there may have been some cheating by both participants.
We are so blessed to have such an amazing cardiology team on Colby's side. The whole office came into the room when we finished to sing Colby "Happy Birthday" and give him a toy. It is easy to understand why Colby loves going to the hospital for checkups. It is always an adventure and a fun time!
