Last night I was with Eric and he burned me a disc of pictures of all the stuff we've been up to lately. I thought it would be fun to play catch-up. I'll start with the stuff that happened furthest away and then work my way to the most recent.
My Fair Lady
A while back (when we first started dating) Eric took me to the Ahmanson Theater in LA and we saw the production of "My Fair Lady." It was fabulous and lots of fun. I absolutely loved it the cast was amazing.
Goofy Golf
We went miniature golfing with some friends. It was down in LA (I have lived in California all my life and I don't think I have been in LA as much as I have since I met Eric. It makes me laugh.) at a cosmic golfing place meaning they use dark lights so everything glows and it's indoors. It was lots of fun. We were playing teams Eric and I and his friend Lincoln and his date (who played the daughter of the older man traveling to meet Joseph Smith in the Joseph Smith movie they played at the temples for a while) anyway she is a competitive soul and asked if I was any good at golfing. I told her that I hadn't played in so long so probably not. Well I was really lucky that night and was making some great shots. She thought Eric and I had practiced just to beat them. It was pretty funny. That was a fun night. Eric made up some silly rules to make it more interesting. I'll just say in involved kissing and hole-in-one.
Grunion Run
Have you ever heard of a Grunion Run? I had, but I had never witnessed it. Well on some of the beaches of California you can watch the Grunion Run. For those who don't know what it is, it is when a small fish called a Grunion comes on shore to lay eggs in the sand. They actually ride the water on to shore and then beach them selves to basically procreate. It is actually a pretty interesting thing. They cover the beaches, lots of small silvery fish, between the hours of 11pm to 2pm depending on the season. Well Eric and I decided to take a trip to the beach and catch a Grunion run. We grabbed a blanket, a couple of flashlights, and Eric brought treats (sweedish fish ;) and headed to Long Beach in hopes to catch the fish in action, and we weren't disappointed.
July Fourth
July Fourth is a pretty big jump in the time line. The previous things happened before New York and then there was New York and the British Columbia trip and then we come to July Fourth. Anyway we celebrated the fourth with my family down at my Aunts house in Thousand Oaks. That's where he met my brother because he was in town for work, most of my cousins, and my Aunt and Uncle. I really didn't get any pictures of the family party, but there was lots of food of course, swimming, and then fireworks. The fireworks actually happened in Oaji at Eric's old roommate's house. We drove up there after saying good bye to the family and saw a great show. They had parked a truck earlier that day to save seats for us, which was good because the street was packed with people. We sat in the bed of the truck and watched the show, it was great. You got to love Independence Day!!
