Homespun Merry Christmas!!

 Happy Friday HH Fans!!

We have had some pretty hot weather here in Ontario this week...actually crazy hot & humid.  What better way to cool off than make a Christmas card lol.

I chose Homespun Hearts Snowy for this card, I just love homey he looks.  One of my favourite sentiments is our Fun Merry Christmas.  I have used this so many times.

I was going for a totally non traditional set of colours so I could use some older (much older) Bazzil patterned paper from my stash.  I thought is was perfect for this adorable snowman.

The card layout is pretty basic so I added a couple of enamel dots & a little satin bow.

Copic Colours

Little Nicholas & Rodney Reindeer

Happy late Friday night to all our HH fans!

Phew what a week!  So many things to do & not a lot of crafty me time.  I actually was able to finish up this card earlier today but ran out of time to get it up earlier.  Meet Little Nicholas with Rodney Reindeer & the Fun Merry Christmas sentiment all from High Hopes of course lol.

Last night over on the High Hopes Facebook page I posted my WIP of the images.  I wasn't 100% sure what I was going to do with them at that point but after fussy cutting the images out the light bulb went off.

I chose Photo Play's Christmas Cheer pad for these images.  I am in love with all the colors in this pad, great for masculine cards....can't wait to make more cards with these fab papers.  I picked out 3 different papers before I started to color just to give me some guidance while choosing my Copic colors.

I matched the brown cardstock base to the brown in the plaid paper & went with a Vanilla for the matting.  I picked up the cream with gold twine on clearance at a Winners store a couple of years ago in their after Christmas sale.  I knew one day I would use it.  I cut out the Fun Merry Christmas sentiment with a die & added some self adhesive dots.  I also used some Nuvo Snowflake Glitter on the pom pom & the fur on Nicholas's hat...just a bit of bling.

Buddy's Gift!

Happy Monday & welcome to today's blog post!

This sweet little bear is called Buddy's Gift Block which I have paired with the Fun Merry Christmas sentiment.  I love the whimsical feel of the sentiment & that it's a little chunky.  So remember yesterday I said I'm not a super fan of traditional Christmas colors...well...here we go with a whole lotta' blue.  I suppose some folks may consider blue to be in the realm of traditional colors but I always think just red & green.

I wanted to add some glitter on the patterned paper so out came the Sookwang tape & my ultra fine glitter.  I put three strips of Sookwang tape down & burnished then well so the glitter wouldn't get underneath the tape.  I pulled off the strip that was going to be blue 1st, once that was complete and cleaned up I pulled off the remaining two strips to do the silver.  I always have to remind myself to burnish the glitter down very well.  It makes it more shiny & prevents it from coming off onto everything & everyone.

Copic combos

Bear - E27, E25, E23, R02, R01, R000

Blues - B05, B04, B02, B37, B34, B32

A Merry Christmas Gnome!

Thank you for joining me today as I share another creation from our new release called Christmas Gnome.

As I said in my previous post a lot of my Christmas cards this year will be CAS (Clean & Simple) using Kraft cardstock as my base.  My friend just got back from the Netherlands and she brought me quite an assortment of patterned paper...oh la la!  On today's card I'm using a new Gnome paper from Polka Doodles....oh gosh I just love it!

I paired today's card with the new Fun Merry Christmas sentiment.  I had fun playing with some different colours for this image.  I can't say that I have really done much of pairing BG's together with YG's....so it was interesting, but in the real the combo looks pretty cool or at least I think it does lol.

Copic Colors
Yellow Greens - YG99, YG97, YG95, YG93
Blue Greens - BG49, BG13, BG11
Beard - W5, W2, W0

I hope today's post brightened your crafty spirit!

Hugs,
