ramblings... ...

wah... it's been a very very very very very very long time since I've blogged.

Well anyway i think things are really going to get very exciting from here onwards...
The events coming up in Nov and Dec is going to be so exciting and awesome.   More updates in service this week... combined service will be so cool.

I know the church is going to breakthough 1400... And I know E and G zone will breakthrough too...   So everyone let's jia you!  Let's all work together to bring our church, zones and Cgs to breakthroughs!

Anyway school's really scary now, cos project deadlines are coming and exams are coming too.  Actually I'm really happy that I am graduating soon.  Next year April!  Then it is time to work in church full time.  Cool.. but it's going to be a new challenge too.  I really want to rise up and breakthrough to the next level.

*I'm rambling now because I'm in class and I am bored.

Esther Pok asked a few of us to go out this Sunday... she said that she wants to come back to church.  Isn't it interesting that everybody that leaves church at the end of the day will still want to come back?  There is really something special here eh.  Only in God and here in church is there really a purpose in life.  I can't imagine what I'll be doing if I'm not in church.

Oh my parents just mentioned that they will get me a car when I graduate... haha.  Just a few more months I guess.

* I think I'm rambling more to make up for the last few months of missing posts... ha ha

Pastors are coming back tomorrow! I'm happy and looking forward to it.  Really miss Pastors and Rinnah!  Woah.. but the last 2 weeks were exciting.  I think it is really cool to see how Charleston, Dom and Myself were holding up the services.  Finally we have grown and risen up to a level where Pastors don't have to worry anymore... And thank God for the wonderful training that Pastors brought us through.  Ha ha... Pastors literally taped down our feet during our prep for our sermon so that we don't move so much.  So if you noticed, Charleston and I hardly moved when we were preaching.  ha ha...  I hope that we will be able to continue to preach more and more like Pastors.

* I'm still going on, cos my prof is still talking...

Also I really think that it is really cool when Charleston, Dom and I work together... i think we make an awesome team.  We are so different and at the same time we work together so well.  We all have different strengths that complements each other... But more than just work... I think it's awesome to have friends like them.  We have great fun working and playing together.  Such a privilege to have grown up with them and to support Pastors together.

Anyway i really feel that we have a great church and great destiny... just like what I preached about last sunday!  It was really really what I felt... haha.  Let's not take what we have for granted.  the future's gonna be amazing...

* Here's something interesting...

Oh I must tell everyone something exciting that happened last sunday.  Did you know that last Sunday after i preached, they told me that my friend from SMU actually came for service??? I was totally shocked.  Thank God they only told me after service that he came.  I'll be so stressed and awkward if they had told me before I preached.  They all kept it a secret from me even though they knew he was coming since friday.  I had been inviting the previous few weeks... but I conveniently forgot to invite him the week I was preaching because I would have felt so stressed... but seems like they used the chance that I was preaching to invite him instead.  Haha.. btw he is Cedric's teacher in ACS Barker.. that's how he came... They are sneaky eh... invite him and not tell me... haha
*Ha ha anyway my friend is right in front of me now... in class...

Any way... going for Ops check later.. woah.. going to try many many new things this Saturday.  It will be fun.  Try to look out for them this Saturday.  Don't miss combined service this week.  It will be so cool..  41st day will be on too!

*.... .... my prof is still talking... ... haha ...

I feel the key to growth this season is...

4th dimension and prayer
With God it is easy.  God is mighty and powerful.
Watched Pst Kong's service on 4th Dimension, was really cool.
But I really feel we need to keep praying and believing God for supernatural growth

Leadership
Everything rises and fall on leadership...
we need new leaders and the current leaders to grow and rise up.
If all our leaders can be tight for every new friend and integration... we will definately grow...
The more leaders we have that are great shepherds and tight... the more we will grow.

*Yeah.. class ended...

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the birthday celebration you guys had for me last Sunday.  I was really really touched... and even lost for words at times.  You guys are the best! =) I really appreciate all the things you guys did for me.

Thank you Peck Hoon, Eli, Adri and Han for the american idol thingy, DT for hosting it and YH for guest appearing... Thank you Yilun, Wei de and Esmonde for editing and do the video... Thank you Fu rong, Gab, Jia yang and everyone who acted in the video... Thanks to every one who helped made the whole celebration happen... I know wendy was involved in it too... thanks.  Thank you everyone for the presents and also thank you every one else whom I may have missed out and lastly thank you all who were there...

It's a great privilege to be in the same spiritual family as all of you and having such awesome spiritual parents, our Pastors.  I thank God for placing me in heart of God church.

Looking back at my life, I'm really amazed at how God can use some one like me.  I could never imagine that God could use me to do the things I'm doing now.  It's incredible to realize that God and through my Pastors my life has been totally changed.

I really thank God for all the seasons of molding that God brought me through.  Times where God would speak to me, where Pastor How and Pastor Lia would teach, guide and disciple me.  Without God and Pastors I would never be who I am today.

The past was great but I know what the future holds is going to be even more amazing... I believe God will continue to grow me and He has great things installed for heart of God church and all of us.

Once again, thanks everyone for the awesome birthday celebration.  Let's continue to build God's house and run with and support our Pastors.

Love you guys!

Amazing Grace

The original hymn written by John Newton.

John Newton - A man who was once a slave trader, unloving, inhuman and cruel... but was radically saved by God and became a minister for God. A man who truly understood the amazing grace of God. Yet a man who understood the fear of God... A man that could say - "T'was grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved"

"Amazing Grace"

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!

Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.

random...

I had loads of fun meeting people these few days... really enjoy spending time with people.

It's amazing to see how God changes the lives of people.  I've seen tremendous differences between people with God and without God in their lives.  Seeing that, I wonder why people will choose not to have God in their lives.

We have an amazing God!

I'm 24!

Thank you everyone for celebrating my birthday and also for all the surprises and gifts that you all gave to me.  I am truly very touched and feel very very loved by all of you.

I really thank God that I have such an awesome spiritual family.  Love you guys...  Let's continue to grow old together in the house of God, supporting our Pastors and growing in God.

It's really amazing and unbelievable that I'm so old already.  We have literally grew up in church.  we have grow from boys to men, girls to women... from spiritual babes to mature christians.

Growing old in church is the BEST thing that can ever happen.

I love God, love my Pastors, love people and love my life!

Cinderella

Recently there was a really sad news that Steven Curtis Chapman's 5 year old adopted daughter passed away in an unfortunate accident.

A few years ago he wrote a song inspired by her.

Here's a music video on the wonderful song and the story behind it.

oh no... my birthday is in 1 week's time.  oh man, time passes so fast... I'm growing old!!!! Argh... haha... I don't want to grow older.

Ha ha but as my birthday approaches, it makes me a bit nostalgic and causes me to reminisce about the past...

if you were my age you would probably remember:

- Buses were non aircon and had red seats.  Super buses were really super
- The MRT track ended at "Yishun"
- Mediacorp was called SBC
- We had lousy waxy paper text books that tears every time you try to erase
- They introduced PETS text books
- You could buy a bowl of noodles for 40 cents at the school tuck shop
- The malaysia channels had the best cartoons
- Watching cartoons like Smurfs, Transformers, My little Pony, care bears and MASK (not the green one)
- Wee Kim Wee was president
- There were no 2 dollar notes ( I think.. if i remember correctly)
- Har Par Villa and Tang Dynasty were considered an exciting places
- Big Mac came in styrofoam boxes and there was no such thing as upsize
- There was a playground on the roof of Wisma Atria
- The walkman was the coolest thing you could have
- There was no such thing as the world wide web

Wow... as i think of it, lots of things have changed... Thank God I have changed too... =)  Thank God I found Jesus in my life...

With God, I know that the future is going to be amazing!

Seoul, Korea

Hey.. I realised that it's not easy keeping up with blogging.  ha ha.. but i also realised that people actually do read my blog.  Even Isabel from all the way from Canada knew that i killed Elmo.

Anyway... I recently came back from Korea and had an awesome time visiting Pst Cho Yonggi's church.  The world's largest church at 750,000 members.  It was mind blowing and faith stretching to see such an amazing church.  It was a great great privilege as well.  So grateful to Pastors for bringing me along in this trip.  It literally changed my life.  I'll try to talk more about it another time.

But a picture is worth a 1000 words so in the mean time i'll just post up some photos I took.
At the Seoul Olympic Stadium

At Yoido Full Gospel Church building
15 mins before service the place would have been filled and people literally run into service when the doors open.
They have 7 services every sunday starting from 7 am and each service seats 15,000
They have at total of 11 choirs and 3 Orchestras...

The key to the success of the church is prayer and having dreams and vision.  And I'm so inspired to grow in these areas.

Tuesday, March 04, 2008

It's been a long time since I've blogged...

Well things has really been quite busy.

The strange thing is that this weekend I am going off to Vietnam. Some secluded place in Vietnam. I went to the "hotel" website and guess what it said...

" Where all you find is relaxation..."

I knew that there is not much I would be able to do there. I've planned that I will be going there to catch up with my school work. It is the beginnings of sorrow for school. haha...

End times seminar was really powerful.

year of the rat

Hmmm... it is the year of the Rat!

It suppose to be an auspicious year for me... (i think) but I'm not very happy.. because it means that I am quite old now... haha

Anyway I used to like mickey mouse because he is a mouse... That was the time when I thought mouse and rats are the same. To my horror I realised that Rats are disgusting and disease spreading animals...

Was at maryse's blog and chanced upon an interesting photo...

Strange things happen in the admin office past midnight...

I wonder who killed elmo... ... =)

2008!

hey... long time never been bloggin... sorry. Today I realised that actually there are people that are still seeing my blog. Today Jian Ming came to office and started to talk about my last post. Ha ha.. he was kind of making fun of it. He said that it was like saying:

Jian Ming is a Christian
A Christian is Jian Ming
And Jian Ming is Jian Ming...

Ha ha... well anyway I think he got something out of that post...

Anyway... it's 2008!

This year is the beginning of leadership...

3 prayers I have?

1. That leaders will rise up this year. Leaders with widsom, able to think and plan. People that will really rise up to help build the church with our Pastors. Leaders that are competent, dependable, with a heart to love and spiritual

2. That our church will breakthrough 3000 by 2010 and 1500 by this year...

3. That our church will be a strong church and the heart of God church and Pastors DNA will be replicated in every member of our church. 3000 people that loves God and loves people. A church that will be loyal not just to the vision of our Pastors but loyal to the man and woman of God.

See you soon...

Have a great 2008!
