My Sunday!!!

Been a long time since I've blogged...

Anyway had such an exciting Sunday that I have to blog about it...

1.  Jamie, Chloe and I went to buy balloons to surprise my brother and sister when they came back from malaysia... we bought a lot a lot of balloons!!

Then we stuffed it all into Jamie's car... it was really an incredible sight.. every one looked at our car as we drove around...

Here's a picture of chloe and all the balloons... she said she was choking on the smell of aluminium..

more photos...

The final surprise...

2.  We went to saddle club and saw horses...
it was such a surreal place.. quaint and pleasant
Didn't seem like singapore

3.  We went to Orchard Central..
The new shopping centre... didn't have much... was a horrible carpark.  I got dizzy driving up.

found Pastor's fav. sandwich place there... Quizno... a new outlet opened there... we ate a sandwich on 50% discount... :)

Bumped into a coffee bean man...

We were going up and down the escalator to catch the lights at the right colour...

4. I went back home and cooked dinner for my family when they came back...
Was Happy Father's Day...

Steak with mushrooms and boiled broccoli

Asparagus wrapped with bacon

Portobello mushroomed baked with bacon and mozzarella cheese

Was a nice dinner...

My Sister and brother were very happy to see the balloons... My sister came to hug me after that... Aww....

that's all... =) see you soon!
can't wait for pastors and rinnah to be back this friday.

happy chinese new year

It's the year of the Ox... so just want to wish every one a very Happy "Nui" Year

It's a very different new year this year... I'm in Cebu ...
That might mean less Ang Baos for me.  Ha ha...
Every year now is very significant because i don't have many more years of collections...

But anyway after this break I really hope to come back more recharged and energised to continue to "chiong" and do more things.

I realised that as we grow up we will be faced with more and more grown up issues in life.  Life's sometimes not as straight forward and simple.  But I guess these things can't be avoided and we just have to grow and deal with them when they come. But as we grow up there are many things that make us happy too... and I'm happy to grow up.

I also thank God that we are born in a 1st world nation.  Looking at the people in the Phillipines, I can't imagine living in such conditions and lifestyles.  Despite us still having problems etc, I think all of us born in Singapore should thank God and count our blessings.  Life may not be perfect... but we are already very fortunate.

Anyway... no starfish yet...
Can't wait to be back... 1.5 more days!!! =) Miss being back in Singapore...

In Cebu

Hi everyone...

Happy Chinese New Year!  Every one seems to be overseas ...
Some are in Australia, some in KL and I'm in Cebu, Philippines...

Just arrived here today, the flight was about 3 hours plus.  Do really miss being back in Singapore.  But at least Pastors and Rinnah are here together with me.

Anyway, things are quite boring for now... went swimming for a while today with my siblings.  Food is quite nice though.

I realised that technology is such a cool thing.  It links people up all over the world.  i can't imagine how centuries ago, people had to write snail mail to each other and it would have taken months to reach the other party.  Now we have instant email, sms, skype, "pin"ing for Blackberry... everything is so instantaneous.  So though we are all so far apart we still are very much connected and in tune with each other's lives.  Thank God for technology!

But technology can be irritating too... Pst Lia's blackberry Pin has some problem, so she can't ping people.  So let's keep her phone in prayer.

Things I plan to do in Cebu...

1. Do my internship report ... if not I can't graduate...
2. Catch up on my BRP
3. Rest... sleep...
4. Spend time with my family...
5. Reply emails
6. Exercise?
7. Shopping...

Maybe catch a tan... and maybe a starfish too... ha ha..

But honestly I can't wait to be back...

i'm back... school's back ... but it will be out soon...

It's 9 am and I'm in school again, in a very boring class about intelligent organization...
On my left is tay weili, on my right is daniel goh... great to have them in the same class.  it makes a very boring lesson a bit more tolerable. but anyway it's my last semester in school... hurray!

Good things about leaving school...

- no more exams
- no more school fees
- no more boring classes
- no more horrible SMU food
- no more 8.30am classes
- I get a degree
- It's finally over!
- New phase in life
- Most of all more time to do more in church

Bad things about leaving school...

- less opportunities to make new friends
- no more student concessions and student price!!! argh...
- less time to blog...
- No more allowance
- Makes me feel older

but overall i guess it's great to be finally graduate...
but need to finish my internship report and comm service hours...

ramblings... ...

wah... it's been a very very very very very very long time since I've blogged.

Well anyway i think things are really going to get very exciting from here onwards...
The events coming up in Nov and Dec is going to be so exciting and awesome.   More updates in service this week... combined service will be so cool.

I know the church is going to breakthough 1400... And I know E and G zone will breakthrough too...   So everyone let's jia you!  Let's all work together to bring our church, zones and Cgs to breakthroughs!

Anyway school's really scary now, cos project deadlines are coming and exams are coming too.  Actually I'm really happy that I am graduating soon.  Next year April!  Then it is time to work in church full time.  Cool.. but it's going to be a new challenge too.  I really want to rise up and breakthrough to the next level.

*I'm rambling now because I'm in class and I am bored.

Esther Pok asked a few of us to go out this Sunday... she said that she wants to come back to church.  Isn't it interesting that everybody that leaves church at the end of the day will still want to come back?  There is really something special here eh.  Only in God and here in church is there really a purpose in life.  I can't imagine what I'll be doing if I'm not in church.

Oh my parents just mentioned that they will get me a car when I graduate... haha.  Just a few more months I guess.

* I think I'm rambling more to make up for the last few months of missing posts... ha ha

Pastors are coming back tomorrow! I'm happy and looking forward to it.  Really miss Pastors and Rinnah!  Woah.. but the last 2 weeks were exciting.  I think it is really cool to see how Charleston, Dom and Myself were holding up the services.  Finally we have grown and risen up to a level where Pastors don't have to worry anymore... And thank God for the wonderful training that Pastors brought us through.  Ha ha... Pastors literally taped down our feet during our prep for our sermon so that we don't move so much.  So if you noticed, Charleston and I hardly moved when we were preaching.  ha ha...  I hope that we will be able to continue to preach more and more like Pastors.

* I'm still going on, cos my prof is still talking...

Also I really think that it is really cool when Charleston, Dom and I work together... i think we make an awesome team.  We are so different and at the same time we work together so well.  We all have different strengths that complements each other... But more than just work... I think it's awesome to have friends like them.  We have great fun working and playing together.  Such a privilege to have grown up with them and to support Pastors together.

Anyway i really feel that we have a great church and great destiny... just like what I preached about last sunday!  It was really really what I felt... haha.  Let's not take what we have for granted.  the future's gonna be amazing...

* Here's something interesting...

Oh I must tell everyone something exciting that happened last sunday.  Did you know that last Sunday after i preached, they told me that my friend from SMU actually came for service??? I was totally shocked.  Thank God they only told me after service that he came.  I'll be so stressed and awkward if they had told me before I preached.  They all kept it a secret from me even though they knew he was coming since friday.  I had been inviting the previous few weeks... but I conveniently forgot to invite him the week I was preaching because I would have felt so stressed... but seems like they used the chance that I was preaching to invite him instead.  Haha.. btw he is Cedric's teacher in ACS Barker.. that's how he came... They are sneaky eh... invite him and not tell me... haha
*Ha ha anyway my friend is right in front of me now... in class...

Any way... going for Ops check later.. woah.. going to try many many new things this Saturday.  It will be fun.  Try to look out for them this Saturday.  Don't miss combined service this week.  It will be so cool..  41st day will be on too!

*.... .... my prof is still talking... ... haha ...

I feel the key to growth this season is...

4th dimension and prayer
With God it is easy.  God is mighty and powerful.
Watched Pst Kong's service on 4th Dimension, was really cool.
But I really feel we need to keep praying and believing God for supernatural growth

Leadership
Everything rises and fall on leadership...
we need new leaders and the current leaders to grow and rise up.
If all our leaders can be tight for every new friend and integration... we will definately grow...
The more leaders we have that are great shepherds and tight... the more we will grow.

*Yeah.. class ended...

Hi everyone, thank you so much for the birthday celebration you guys had for me last Sunday.  I was really really touched... and even lost for words at times.  You guys are the best! =) I really appreciate all the things you guys did for me.

Thank you Peck Hoon, Eli, Adri and Han for the american idol thingy, DT for hosting it and YH for guest appearing... Thank you Yilun, Wei de and Esmonde for editing and do the video... Thank you Fu rong, Gab, Jia yang and everyone who acted in the video... Thanks to every one who helped made the whole celebration happen... I know wendy was involved in it too... thanks.  Thank you everyone for the presents and also thank you every one else whom I may have missed out and lastly thank you all who were there...

It's a great privilege to be in the same spiritual family as all of you and having such awesome spiritual parents, our Pastors.  I thank God for placing me in heart of God church.

Looking back at my life, I'm really amazed at how God can use some one like me.  I could never imagine that God could use me to do the things I'm doing now.  It's incredible to realize that God and through my Pastors my life has been totally changed.

I really thank God for all the seasons of molding that God brought me through.  Times where God would speak to me, where Pastor How and Pastor Lia would teach, guide and disciple me.  Without God and Pastors I would never be who I am today.

The past was great but I know what the future holds is going to be even more amazing... I believe God will continue to grow me and He has great things installed for heart of God church and all of us.

Once again, thanks everyone for the awesome birthday celebration.  Let's continue to build God's house and run with and support our Pastors.

Love you guys!

Amazing Grace

The original hymn written by John Newton.

John Newton - A man who was once a slave trader, unloving, inhuman and cruel... but was radically saved by God and became a minister for God. A man who truly understood the amazing grace of God. Yet a man who understood the fear of God... A man that could say - "T'was grace that taught my heart to fear, and grace my fears relieved"

"Amazing Grace"

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound
That sav’d a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears reliev’d;
How precious did that grace appear,
The hour I first believ’d!

Thro’ many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace has brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promis’d good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease;
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, who call’d me here below,
Will be forever mine.

I had loads of fun meeting people these few days... really enjoy spending time with people.

It's amazing to see how God changes the lives of people.  I've seen tremendous differences between people with God and without God in their lives.  Seeing that, I wonder why people will choose not to have God in their lives.

We have an amazing God!

Miss Pastors and Rinnah
