4th of July Fireworks!!

Oh how we love fireworks!! For the 4th we went out to the Lewiston firework show. We love going here because you are literally so close to the fireworks. And when the show is over the traffic is not too bad. This year we ended up right under the fireworks it was really fun.

4th of July Weekend!

We had a really fun weekend! My brother Alan and his family came and stayed at our house for the weekend which was a lot of fun. My kids have been waiting for the day Alyssa got to come and sleepoverer for a really long time. It was a busy weekend, on top of the holiday my nephew Blake was baptized. Like always we had so much fun being together.

As the kids were getting ready for bed we heard some fireworks outside. Brad came downstairs and told the girls you could see them out of the girls bedroom window. They watched the whole USU firework show standing on top of their nightstand.

Kaitlyn and Melanie thought that baby Joshua was adorable and loved holding him.

It is not the 4th of July without swimming

Instead of going to the movie Walle in the theaters with the rest of the family with older kids, we rented some movies and watched them at home. According to the review of the movie I think we were glad we chose to stay home.

The Dads took the kids on a nature hike, looking for rocks.

Melanie and her rocks. Brad finally got her to throw them in the river. For some reason she liked all the big rocks.

Matthew was so sad to stay behind and not go on the nature hike, so I caught up with them so he could join the fun.

The Johnson's four wheeler was a highlight the whole weekend. Blake taking Kaitlyn for a spin.

Just Some Cuteness!

Just thought these were cute. Swimming in our backyard for the first time this summer. My kids love to go in the backyard and swim!!

Down Memory Lane

I have seen this on a few blogs and thought it was fun!

1. Leave one memory that you and I had together, as a comment on my blog. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Mattew is dancing now too!

Ever since Kaitlyn's dance recital we do her dance in our kitchen a lot. Matthew has decided that it is really fun. He knows the dance alomst as good as the girls do. I would be a little worried if he didn't like to throw the ball so much. I fianlly got it on camera, well sort of. Enjoy!!

Peter Breinholt Concert!

On the way home from Payson we were able to attend the Peter Breinholt Concert at the Layton Amphitheater. We met Johnson's and had a really fun time. A few times while we were there he had all the kids and I guess the kids at heart come down to the front and dance to the music. So Dave and I took all the kids down, I think that was a favorite among my kids. It must have gotten a little bit wild down there because the second time we went down Kaitlyn came to me with a bloody nose, so Kaitlyn and I went off to find a bathroom which ended up being on the opposite side of the park. Needless to say that part wasn't too fun. Melanie can't stop singing his songs now and wants to go to another concert in the park. We had a lot of fun like always.Matthew, Brad, Luke, Juile, Blake

Gladys Wride Hiatt

Brad's Grandma Hiatt passed away on June 11, 2008. Brad and I were able to go down to Payson and attend her funeral. This was a hard concept for Kaitlyn and Melanie to grasp. Kaitlyn was full of questions. One question that I thought was kind of cute was when she asked me, "mom, will Great grandma go wet and mess in heaven?" She was genuinely concerned about it too. Grandma's death gave us a great opportunity to teach our kids once again about death and how we can live together forever in eternity. Sweet Melanie was over joyed to see Brad's mom at the viewing on Sunday night, I can't help but think that she thought we were going to see her in the coffin and was just ecstatic to see her alive. I am so glad that my children got to know great grandma even if it was for a short time. She is truly a great example to us in enduring to the end and keeping a positive attitude. She had the cutest moto of "no matter what challenges we face, it could be so much worse. I am so blessed." We can't even imagine her homecoming with her husband and son and are sure that she was overjoyed to see them.

No More Training Wheels!

Brad took Kaitlyn's training wheels off of her bike. She is trying to learn how to ride a two wheeler. She is really excited to learn and Brad is very patient with her. It is harder than we thought it would be. Brad practiced with her for a while and then she got tired. She and Melanie then decided they would attempt to fix their scooters (the scooters are not broken) They thought they were really cool using dads tools though. We will have to keep practicing with her. Hopefully she can learn before the summer is over. Look at how beautiful the mountains are behind them. I love the views from our house!

Sleepover at Sam's

A few weekends ago we went down to Joshua's blessig we were lucky enough to be able to stay with the Taylors, or in my girls words, a sleepover at Sam's. We all had a lot of fun!!! Needless to say the kids went to bed really late because Mindy and I were gone shopping pretty late. I just love having Sisters!
