Gingerbread Houses
Are these things really worth it? The girls and I had a lot of fun about a week ago making this gingerbread house. Tonight we decided that we would take some bites out of it. It was really pretty gross. I mean really gross, we couldn't even get Melanie to eat it and she pretty much will eat anything that has the main ingredient of sugar. I guess that is what you get when you buy a kit. I should have taken my sister Julies advice and made it from scratch. Anyways it was a lot of fun making it, the girls had a blast. As you can tell Melanie had a fun time eating the frosting and candy while we were making it. So I guess it was worth it for the memories.
This is really fun and the frosting is yummy!
A few final touches
Here it is, with two proud and happy girls!!!
One big mess for mom to clean up!

Next up Hiatt Christmas Party
Next up was the Hiatt Christmas party. The kids have anticipated seeing Santa at this party all year. Kaitlyn even told me that she wasn't going to cry this year and she didn't. At least while she was on his lap. Matthew was the bravest and I think he gave his biggest sister a lot of courage after seeing him doing it. It was a lot of fun to see all of Brad's cousins and such. Here are some hightlights of the party.
Waiting our turn to sit on Santa's lap.
Matthew was amazed by him and just kept staring at him.

Tis the Season: Family Christmas Parties!!
We had a lot of fun at our family Christmas Parties. First off the Blake Christmas Party. We enjoyed singing, playing games and opening our cousin presents. The highlight was that our Texas cousins, the garlicks, got to join us for part of the time via web cam. It was really fun having them there. We had a lot of fun and always enjoy being together

Matthew's First Birthday!
Matthew had his first birthday on the sixth. We had a really fun party here at home. The girls love to party and I think enjoyed it more than him. Enjoy the slide show of his birthday. Please excuse the Christmas tree in the background. I have officially given up on it. I am sick of fixing and picking up ornaments so they are all either really high or on the floor, or broken. We will try and have a better one next year.

Fun times with Luke!
Almost every time we drop Kaitlyn off at preschool Melanie says that she is going to play with her friend. I then ask her who her friend is and she says Luke. Well believe it or not we never have done it until the other day Luke came over and played during preschool they had so much fun together and were the best of buds.

Black Friday!!
I just have to say a little something about Black Friday. This has got to be one of the best days of the whole year. And I got to do it all with Julie, Mindy and Lisa. I could hardly sleep the night before out of excitement of the great fun we would have the next morning. We were out the door by 4:30 am and didn't get back until about noon. We got some super great deals and yes it was worth it. Between the four of us we packed Julie's van. When we were done I don't think we could have fit another bag in it. Can't wait for next year!! Here is a picture of the back of the van, I had to crop Mindy and I out because honestly we looked horrible in the picture, can you blame us though we got up at 4 and had shopped for about 7 hours.

Happy Thanksgiving!
We had a super great Thanksgiving!!! We enjoyed not having to travel for dinner this year. My family (Blakes) all gathered up here in cache valley. We have so much to be thankful for and feel very blessed to be where we are at today. We ate way too much, but the food was just so good!!! And hey it was thanksgiving. Here are some pictures from the festivities.

I've Been Tagged
Ok so I am still really new at this but here goes. My wonderful and great friend Amanda tagged us.
Rules: Write 7 facts about yourself...silly, serious, random - you decide. List who tagged you and then who you will tag at the bottom. Leave a comment on their blogs and let them know you tagged them.
1. I (Kristi) love to shop, ask anyone I just get a glow in my eye when I am shopping. I especially love sales and even better the after thanksgiving sale (which is just around the corner). I am like a little kid and can't even sleep the night before.
2. We love to go for night rides, not as much lately since gas prices had gone sky high. It is really fun when all the Christmas lights are up.
3. We love a good movie with popcorn, the girls call it a pajama party.
4. We love to travel and have many places we would love to see and probably will. Brad would really rather just stay home, but goes for his three girls.
5. We hate changing diapers and can't wait until all of them are potty trained.
6. Brad loves his jeep and wishes it was in better shape.
7. We love to be with family especially our cousins.
We tag Garred, Jami, Lindsay

One Year!!
Can you believe it we have lived in our home for a year now. Wow, time sure does fly by. A lot has happened since, we tore out six trees, got new toilets, planted bushes, put a fence in and a lot of yard work. There is much more to be done but plenty of time to do it. We feel like we have been so blessed this past year and are very grateful.

Happy Halloween!
We had a really fun Halloween. Kaitlyn was a Fairy, Melanie was Cinderella and Matthew was crush the turtle. Kaitlyn and Melanie loved dressing up and going trick or treating. Matthew on the other hand couldn't wait to take his costume off and get back to the floor to explore. I thought that I would just take the girls around our circle, but they kept wanting to go on to more houses. I think their favorite part was all of the candy they got. When we got back to the house Kaitlyn insisted on sitting on the porch, holding the bowl of candy and passing it out. I finally made her come in about 8:30. Needless to say they had a really fun Halloween. Here are some pics of the fun night.

Pumpkins!!!!!
We all had a blast carving pumpkins. Kaitlyn loved making the big smile on hers and Melanie loved pulling out all of the goop. I think they turned out pretty good and as soon as we got done Melanie turned out the lights expecting them to magically light up. We very quickly piled in the car to go and buy candles so that they would light for her.

Jump-o-lene
Melanie got this jump-o-lene for her birthday and the girls have so much fun playing in it. Here are some pictures of them enjoying it on her birthday. It sure does get a lot of their energy out and came at a perfect time with the weather starting to turn cold.

Happy Birthday Melanie
Melanie had a really fun birthday on the 21st. We can't believe she is already three. She enjoyed celebrating with both sets of Grandparents and The Johnson's. Here are some pictures from her party. She was so excited and is still talking about it. She loved her cake, she was so excited for it that she blew her candles out before we were even done singing happy birthday to her.
