Patterns in Nature

"The beauty in the natural world lies in the details."

Nature provides such lovely patterns for inspiration.

Picture Perfect

Gosh, I live in a beautiful spot of the world!
We took a drive up to Artist's Point near Mount Baker yesterday, our annual trek. We hope to go up again next week as the colors are barely changing. It's already winter up there and the higher spots have had a bit of snow...
Playing with the lens adjustments on my point and shoot.
This shot makes my photo of Mt Shuksan look like one of those cool old postcards; taken from a wide spot in the road on the way back down from Artist's Point.

I loved the look of these pillar rocks along the side of the road. This was taken from the wrong side of the road still winding down from Artist's Point. Luckily most motorists up there are most patient with crazy camera carrying folks. :)

More photos to come soon...

Happy Friday!

Textured Abstract

Added to my Etsy shop this week...
Autumn Mountain III by Helen H Campbell
This is one of a series I created last year after a wonderful Autumn day with my husband up at Heather Meadows near Mt. Shuksan and Mt. Baker. We make an annual trek the last "good" day before the snow flies (based on the weather predictions) Based on some of the photographs I took, the abstract painting includes "upcycled" lace, mesh, threads, and vintage lace. Acrylic with recycled/upcycled materials.

It brings back lovely memories every time I see it. :)

Sharing with Paint Party Friday.
