ODBD Challenge 19 - Bookmarks

Here I am racing again to make the deadline for the ODBD Shining the Light challenge!   This time the challenge is to make a bookmark, something that I have never done before.  But what comes to my rescure today, but my Splitcoaststampers WeeklyInkling newsletter with an article on how to make a bookmark!  Yay!!!!  I recently got a 6x6 pad of super yummy Cosmo Cricket DeLovely patterned paper.  I paired it with PTI's white and raspberry fizz cardstocks.  The yellow cardstock is from SU! (yoyo yellow, I believe.)   The stamp is from the ODBD set Grow in Grace, which has fast become one of my very favorite ODBD sets.  I finished the bookmark with a DeLovely chip sticker.  My picture is a little wonky because it was hard to take a photo of it actually positioned on the pages of a book.

Thanks for taking a peek.....

DeNami Summer Theme #2

Back with my 2nd card for the DeNami Design theme challenge:   Summer!  I also made this card for the current SCS CAS challenge to use the colors of Pumpkin Pie, Certain Celery & Bashful Blue.  I wanted to make a card using all three of the drink stamps from the set and here it is.  I had wanted to put a sentiment on the card underneath the drinks, but got so intent on making sure the embossing came out right that I forgot all about the sentiment.  Oh well...

Thanks for taking a look....

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI White; SU! Pumpkin Pie; Certain Celery & Brocade Blue; Ink:  SU! Pumpkin Pie, Certain Celery & Brocade Blue; Cuttlebug, dot embossing folder; Prisma pencils & blender pencil.

DeNami Design Theme Challenge #2 - Summer

A super quick card I made for the current DeNami Design theme challenge, summer.  I used DeNami's cute little set of tropical drinks for the card, as well as some Stampin Up! designer paper.  The card layout is based on the current clean&simple sketch, FTL 96.   I simply cut the dp to fit the card front, matted it with cardstock and adhered to the card front.  I stamped one of hte cute little drinks on white cardstock with Tuxedo Black ink, colored it with several different Prisma pencils and the blender pencil and it was trimmed out.  The sentiment from Close to my Heart was stamped in Tuxedo Black and the little drink attached to the card front.

Thanks for taking a look!   Will be back later with a 2nd card for the challenge.

Supplies:  Cardstock:  PTI Hawaiian Shores; Stampin Up! Old Olive; Stampin Up! DP; Ink Memento Tuxedo Black; Stamps:   DeNami Design Tropical Drinks set; Sentiment:  Close to My Heart; Prisma Pencils

ColourQ 38 & 4 Butterflies

Finally got a card done for the current ColourQ challenge.  I was feeling pretty mojo-less this week and just couldn't seem to come up with any good ideas for the lovely color combo Arielle debut on Tuesday.  On Monday a box of goodies had arrived from Creative Play Stamps (lightening fast delivery, too, as I had only placed my order on Friday evening, I think! Check them out as you can sign up to get monthly coupons and they always have new stuff discounted.) and with it came this cute stamp Little Butterfly from Hero Arts.  I had already used it once this week on another card, but last night it hit me:  it was perfect for an idea I had for ColourQ.

Using each color I stamped the butterfly twice.  One image was punched out using my SU! 1 3/4 circle punch and the 2nd image just had the wings trimmed out.  I also did a bit of rock n' rolling with the 2nd image.  I decided to match up the Riding Hood Red (my favorite red!  so glad SU! is bringing it back!) with the Pumkin Pie and the Kiwi Kiss with the Bordering Blue (I don't have Bordering Blue ink so I used VersaMagic Aegean Blue, which is a good match).  Using my SU! scalloped circle punch I punched out circles of corresponding cardstock and then layered everything up as you see it.  I kept the cardstock based plain white so the colors could really pop!

Thanks for taking a peek.  Hope you are having a good weekend.  Its sunny here, finally, in western Washington, yay!!!  Looks like summer has finally arrived!

Paper Play Challenge 25 and a Little Extra

I recently took a look at the PaperPlay challenge blog after my fellow blogging friend, Heather Maria, became a design team member.  I got the chance to make a card for this week's challenge... to make something that includes the sun.  I had recently stepped a little outside my box and purchased the Hero Arts set: Kiss from the Sun.  It is a really cute set and while a little outside my comfort zone, I'm glad that I got it!   I actually made two cards with it.  The card for the PaperPlay challenge (the 1st card) and a little extra (the 2nd card).

Both cards were also made using patterned papers from October Afternoon's Thrift Shop 8x8 pad.  Love that paper! So cute and perfect for what I wanted to do.  I kept things pretty simple for my first outing with this set.  But did do some paper piecing.  And I added a bit of eyelet lace to the dress of the second card.  I love how it turned out!   Now that I have gotten my "feet wet" with this set, I'm excited about all the possibilities the set holds!

Thanks for taking a peek!

Supplies:  Cardstock: PTI kraft; SU! white and soft sky; Ink:  Memento Bahama Blue, Dandelion & Pear Tart; SU! Soft Sky & Close to Cocoa; PP:  October Afternoon Thrift Shop; Crystal Stickles; Eyelet lace; Stamps:  Kiss from the Sun; Cloud DB - Hero Arts

Hope Your Day....

A card today for the current CAS-tastic challenge (CWC009) to use blue, yellow and a neutral.  I had this little kite already stamped on some October Afternoon Thrift Store pp that fit the challenge perfectly.  The card layout is based on the current SCS CAS challenge.   The kite stamp comes from the {Stamps}of Life set Kites2Fly.   I used a sentiment from the SU! set Flight of the Butterfly for the tail of the kite.  The Kites2Fly set includes some little clouds and one of these days I'm going to remember to use them!

Thanks for taking a peek!  As the sentiment says: hope your day is as happy as happy gets!
