Davis doo dah at 2.5 years old

This kid cracks me up! He has the funniest personality and I love his little voice. He has started talking more, but is still in speech. They have awesome speech programs here in Utah and he might even qualify for a free preschool for 2.5 year olds! We will see if he still makes it in for that.
He is not as easy going as he was as a baby, but he is still pretty easy to calm down and distract.
He loves both of his brothers so much! He wants to be just like James and adores Calvin.
He loves cars, trucks, (especially garbage trucks) dirt, rocks, dogs and dinosaurs.
James and Davis are either best friends or worst enemies. They can play so well and then the next minute be in a full on brawl. Davis has a habit of throwing things when he is mad. Working on that. He also has picked up hitting. That's what happens when you have an older brother I guess? Working on that too. His laugh is contagious and we will all be sad when he stops saying "hi dada, hi mama" in his sweet, soft voice.
Davis is in a big boy bed and sharing a room with James. It didn't go so well at first, but has gotten a hundred times better! He still naps everyday anywhere between 1-2.5 hours. He is an early riser :(

Davis still takes "Bippo" with him everywhere! Giraffe has joined the crew, but Hippo is still #1.

3 boys in matching PJs is the cutest! Thanks Nana and Bop!

Calvin at 6.5 months

How cute is this guy? Dana got me this cute outfit for Calvin when he was born. It said it was for 3 months, but always looked huge! So I tried it on him for church this week and it fit! Now that he is bigger, I feel like I can actually put him in clothes that are cute... besides PJs. For some reason, my kids always look funny to me in actual outfits until this age. The pants are always too big or the button up shirts too baggy. This outfit has inspired me to start dressing him up a bit, at least for church. It is still pretty warm here, so he spends most of his time in onesies or "comfy clothes".

Stats at his 6 month checkup:
15lbs 9 oz (10th)
27 inches (55th)
HC 43.6 cm (45th)

What he is doing:
Rolling to get to things
sitting unsupported (eventually topples over)
coo's, laughs a lot, sings, but doesn't really babble yet (bababa)

My Boys

Life right now is a little crazy with these 3 little boys. Ours days are filled with laughing, crying, playing, fighting, fun, discipline, learning, questioning, joy, frustration... but most of all... a lot of love!
My boys challenge me and enrich my life in so many ways. I love being their mom, even though some days I wish I could just "check out". I love watching them grow, but lately I get sad thinking about how these young years will be gone before I know it. I'm trying to cherish the fact that right now Haws and I are the center of their universe. I know we won't be forever and that is a good thing. I just want to be sure I enjoy the moments they are all ours!

James' swim lessons

James loves to swim! We finally got him back in swim lessons and he had a blast with group swim lessons. He also took some privates along with Davis who was not a fan of swim lessons, but loves going in the pool with us. He will have to just tough through them so that he can actually swim on his own at some point. James especially loved jumping off the diving board. He has no fear.

Strawberry Days Rodeo

We went to the Strawberry Days Rodeo in Pleasant Grove.
It was the boys first Rodeo and it was a lot of fun! The strawberry dessert was delicious. James ran out with a ton of kids to chase a cow that was covered in dollar bills. I took a video of it, but somehow it got lost.
Davis really liked the dessert. He wasn't too happy about sharing it with dad.

We made it through most of the rodeo, but it was getting late and the boys were starting to lose it. So we missed the bull riding and fireworks :( Oh well...

7 year itch??

This year we celebrated 7 years of marital bliss :)
Also known as the 7 year itch. I don't think I am feeling any kind of itch, but the past year has been a year of a lot of changes. Some stressful, some exciting, some fun and some not so fun. But through it all we have enjoyed the ride together. I could not imagine a better partner to go through life with than Haws. Let me brag about my husband for a moment.
He is the most amazing man. He is thoughtful, hard working, funny, righteous, smart, the best dad to our boys, a great baker and a rough and tough hockey player. He is easy going and game for almost anything... but he is not a push over. If there is something he feels strongly about, you will know it. He is a little stubborn, which I don't see as a bad thing. He loves me and I know it. I never question his devotion to me and our family. And... I think he is sexy :)
To celebrate we spent the day riding horses and then eating amazing food!!! It was really a dream date. I hadn't been on a horse for a long time and I was a little rusty, but it felt good to be back. I wish I had the time (and money) right now to pursue riding. Maybe someday we will own horses. It is my dream.
That night we went to the most delicious restaurant. The Copper Onion in SLC. It was seriously the best tasting meal I have had! I can't wait to eat there again.
It's been a great 7 years... can't wait to see what the coming years will bring.

The Heber Creeper

We rode the Heber Creeper for a Western themed ride. We almost didn't make it! This is the 2nd time we have been racing to make the train. Hopefully next time we will plan our timing better.

Haws is not trying to be a mountain man... he was sporting his playoff beard. It worked and the Kings won the Stanley Cup!
The boys loved the train ride. The only downside was we were sitting in the back on the first part of the ride, but then the engine switched sides to head back and we were at the front of the train... which meant every time the whistle blew, it was super loud and scared Davis and Calvin.
Here is Davis looking not so happy aout it.

When you got off the train they had face painting, a magic show, a tepee to walk through and a old west gun fight scene. The kids loved it all! I am glad we made the train.

Half way through the ride, the played music and encouraged people to get up and dance. My boys love to dance! James was a hit with his dance moves.

Happenings in May

With 3 little boys at home 24/7... you gotta get out and keep busy! Luckily we live somewhere that there are a lot of things to do with your kids that won't cost you an arm and a leg.

The dinosaur museum is always a hit.
We got a pass to the zoo
Some days we stay home... which means I need to find ways to entertain inside.

I was so excited to have my friend Melissa extend her Utah trip 2 more days so that she could come and stay with us! She helped me revamp our old hutch.
I wish I took a before picture! But here is the final product. I am sure I will mess with what I put in there.
I also painted this sofa tale to be a toy storage on the main floor.

We discovered a mini bowling alley. We also signed up for "kids bowl free" at the same place where they have real bowling. The kids love it.
It has an arcade and my kids love to pretend to play the games. The best thing about that is I don't actually have to pay for them :)
This was my car after bowling. Full of sleeping boys :)
They just opened the Museum of Curiosity near us and we got to go for a preview day since we are members. It was awesome! It was especially fun having haws there.

We even got to meet up with the Lippards for some fun.

This pretty much sums up what mothers day is like with 3 little kids who don't really get the concept yet. Haws made up for them :)

We spent the day at the Thanksgiving Point Farm, riding ponies, checking out all the animals and pushing around milk trucks.
Calvin is always along for the ride.

Calvin 4 months

4 month stats:
13.8 lbs (5th-10th%)
26 inches (70th%)
head 42cm (45th%)

Calvin had an eventful 4th month!
He started rolling from his back to his tummy and then from his tummy to his back. He started sleeping through the night on a more regular basis, he has become a super happy baby who giggles all the time, he was a champ on our road trip to and from CA. He babbles all day long and still loves playing on the floor and under his play mat.
Calvin is a sweet heart. I could just stare at him and talk to him all day! But I have two other boys who need attention too and they let me know it! Calvin is able to tolerate a lot of chaos. The only time his brother pose a problem is when he is nursing. He is at that stage where he is easily distracted during nursing sessions. I have to go up in his room and try to keep the other boys away so he will eat. This poses some issues in our house. While I am upstairs nursing, the boys know I am occupied and they take advantage of the time to be naughty. Those boys sure are smart.
Anyway. I am just trying to enjoy this age as much as I can. I know what challenges lie ahead with a toddler and I just want to enjoy my baby before he joins the "wild rumpus".
