Another summer. Another school year.

This summer flew by!  I can't believe that we officially have a Jr. High Student (7th grade), one that is in the last year of Elementary, and one child who is in their last year of preschool!!!
The first day of school was crazy and hectic for us all, but we managed to get a few photos before everyone was off to school.

In August we celebrated my dad's birthday at my parents house.  The kids love their pop pop!

Over the summer we had so much fun doing our normal family favorites!  Skating, Six Flags, swimming and more.

We celebrated father's day at the fire station this year, Rick was on shift...

I feel like time is speeding by with my kids!  Every day, every week, and month time gets faster and faster and I lose more time with my precious little ones.  They are all growing up way too fast.

Our crazy busy life

As always lately, I donno even know where to start because it has been so long since I have updated!
Our life revolves around the kids & work now a days!!!
The preschool is going really well.  We have a waiting list for our Pre-K room and are about to begin the steps toward the next school year.  It is always so busy busy busy around there!

JC learned to ride his bike without training wheels!  He has been a little hesitant since getting them off but he is doing really great!  He just needs to be started a little and then he is on his way.

Eevie has been waiting since October to have her birthday party, but with competition cheer season was going on it was just too crazy and hectic with being in and out of town, school work, and everything else that she is involved in, we had to postpone it.  So once the season was over that was the 1st thing that was put on the calendar.  Some of her closest friends from when she was a toddler were invited and it was a active evening full of fun!   They watched the movie Frozen (even singing along) they ate, and ate, AND ate, they did cheers, and flips, and so much more!  It was a good old fashioned all girls slumber party!

Eevie had her final cheer competition and cheer banquet!  It has been bittersweet, watching her grow and learn in this new sport that she loves.  It was a crazy cheer year for us as well.  We weren't used to all the cheer lingo, the schedule, and all the competitions but we are getting better at it all.

One of my sweet photographer friends had a baby, all of us were SOOOOO excited!  I went to Frisco (which is about an hour away)  to visit her and her family in the hospital.   He was the sweetest little thing!  We are happy to have another baby in our circle of friends.

Ricky hasn't been up to much lately.  He isn't playing any sports this spring, he wanted to take some time off.  He just finished swimming and did AMAZING!  I can't believe how strong he is in the water.   He is taking a break from baseball and he will start FLAG football in the fall.   He is doing really well in school.

We recently went and saw the Wizard of Oz at a little theater here in our town.  It was really neat and very old fashioned.

I think that is about all of the most recent events here with the Herrera Bunch!  Until next time...

2013 Has come & Gone

Soooooo... A lot has happened since June!  The photos are in no particular order, but lets just say it has been a crazy busy tail end of the year.

JC & I went with his best friend and her mom to Disney on Ice.  That child loves Mickey mouse to the moon and  back, so he was more than thrilled when we surprised him with a full day out with his best friend AND Mickey mouse!  Double score!  It hit the wallet pretty hard though, ugh.  1 spinning toy $20, cotton candy with crown $12, a drink $6, and I don't even remember what else we got but I probably spent close to $100.  Although it was expensive spending time with him while he is small enough to enjoy the small things is just priceless to me.

My lunch date Ricky at school.  I always love having lunch with the kids at school

Just a random sweet photo of my girl Eevie, I am just now sure how she got big so fast!  It feels like I blinked and she was a 12 year old.

The best part of Christmas!!! Putting up the decorations and preparing for Christmas day.

Towards the tail end of the summer we went out to the lake and rode on the boat.

Just some fun photos from different occasions

Eevie's 6th grade trip.  She was gone for a couple of days at a Christian Camp.  She had a great time, but gee we missed her!

I had a ton of fun attending Ricky's field trip in October, they went on a painting scavenger hunt, to the pumpkin patch and to the mission center to donate pet food and supplies.  It was a fun day!

Halloween this year...oh what can I say.  We are in this "scary" stage, where the older 2 no longer want to be cute & cuddly for Halloween.  Instead they wanted to be "SPOOKY".  One was a zombie, the other was a zombie dr.  My sweet little JC was a tigger,  That Tigger costume has been through all 3 kids and they all wore it around 4 years old.  I was so happy to get another year out of it.  It still looks practically brand new!

(YES...it is normal for Eevie to photobomb!)

JC started playing T-Ball this year!!! Oh boy what fun.  He loved it, he was serious about it too.  It was pretty funny.  He sure was cute!

Living the Cheer Life
I have officially moved my preschool into a nice big building!

Oh...and also got a haircut to celebrate the move, and to make life easier!

Here are some photos of the new building:

The cool red front door!  (My favorite color)

AND our classrooms & entry way.  We have added a few things but this is about it.  Our first day of school in our new building was in August, and it has been a busy and bumpy ride since.
JC turned 4 and had a fun little birthday party celebrating with his friends.  AND the best part was he only asked for a Firetruck lol.  So we made sure he had a great big fire truck pull up to the party with lights and all!  He was so excited.

Eevie joined the all-star squad at Spirit Cheer, it has been full on cheer life for us the last few months!  We are so happy she has found a sport she enjoys.  AND she is great at it!  So far her team is undefeated!!!

Eevie turned 12 in October, I am so sad one more year until I have a teenager!

JC's school pictures from Thanksgiving feast and Picture day!

We had a massive ice storm about a month ago, we were stuck in the house due to icy roads and dangerous conditions for about 4 days.  It was a nightmare!!!

I think that is all the updates for now.  Maybe I will gather up the energy to post about Christmas soon....
