Quick 40kUK GT Update
Not a long post this one. Just wanted to say thank you for all the 40kUK guys who ran the GT over the weekend. Was a really fun, well run (if 'casually' run :-P), and definitely enjoyable tournament. I didn't manage to stay for the Saturday evening entertainment as had to drive back to Nottingham (and drop a multitude of friends of on the way), but heard it was eventful!
I had some great games (well, all but one! If you're reading this... damn you Deathwing... :P), against some great opponents and well painted armies. I won't bore you with my final position, as its within the lower-mid table obscurity, but all the games were very close (even the losses, except for Deathwing) and enjoyable. I don't really frequent the tournament scene outside of Warhammer World, so definitely learned a lot from this experience.
So to reiterate, thanks again for all the work the guys did at running the GT this year!

Blood Angels Contemptor Dreadnought Painted
Just finished this bad boy (you can still see some of the wet wash...)! Brilliant model, great fun to paint, better than the brick-tastic normal dreadnought anyway. Will add more weathering etc, along with the rest of vehicles, when I get around to it.
Blood Angels Contemptor Dreadnought - Brother Viktor |
Painted him just in time as well, the 40kUK GT is tomorrow! Everything is packed and ready to pop in the car. Need to pick up my mate from the city centre in the morning, so it'll be about an hour trip to Maelstrom, even from the west of Nottingham where I live. Here's what i'll be taking this weekend:
- Librarian Armand - Terminator Armour, Storm Shield, Fear of the Darkness, Unleash Rage
- Terminator Squad Khayman (5) - 5x Thunder Hammer and Storm Shields
- Sanguinary Priests (2) - 2x Power Weapons, 2x Melta Bombs
- Assault Squad Corvinus (9) - Thunder Hammer, Meltagun, Rhino
- Assault Squad Tanis (9) - Power Fist, Meltagun, Rhino
- Assault Squad Mael (5) - Razorback w/ TL Lascannon
- Baal Predator - Assault Cannon, Heavy Bolters, Searchlight
- Baal Predator - Flamestorm Cannon, Heavy Flamers, Dozer Blade
- Dreadnought - TL Lascannon, Heavy Flamer
- Stormraven - TL Lacannon, TL Multimelta
We'll see how it does! Although not taking it to seriously, and not really expecting a very high place tbh, just going for fun :-D.

Mutagenesis Skirmish Game - Rules Download
I've just uploaded version 1.3 (and hopefully nearly final) version of my Mutagenesis sci-fi skirmish rules!
For those that don't know already, Mutagenesis is a sci-fi skirmish game written by me over the last 3/4 years or so. It uses an in-depth 'action' system that's really quick to learn and play, a cool mission mechanic, and the four current factions are filled with customisability (think 40k codex-esque). Here's the blurb:
In Mutagenesis, the Earth of the 23rd century is rife with conflict. The factions fight over resources, territory and the mysterious material known as Virenite. Mutations are commonplace, with psionic warriors using their powers to both heal and destroy, mutation-enhanced soldiers wielding an arsenal of futuristic weaponry, and tactically superior commanders leading forces on dangerous missions.
Mutagenesis is a fast-paced and aggressive 28mm table top miniatures skirmish game for two players set in a post-epidemic Earth. Players take on the role of elite commanders known as Primes. These Primes are hugely customisable heroes that lead bands of soldiers with varying abilities. Although the Primes are powerful individuals in their own right, it’s your skill in manoeuvring and positioning the rest of your task force that will win you the day.
Players collect, assemble, and paint the varied men, cyborgs, and mutants in their task force. This book provides rules for using those models in swift and brutal conflict. This is brutal skirmish combat, this is MUTAGENESIS!
In this update I've actually added a whole new faction called 'The Swarm'. As you can guess these chitinous critters are mutated bugs! Other updates include points tweaks, and general rules clarifying and tidying up.
As always, if you have any feedback you can email me (see my blogger profile) or comment on the blog.
