Christmas 2009

Christmas is always a fun family day and this year was no exception! The kids loved all the fun presents they received and played with their new toys with zeal. We were so blessed this year and lucky to have such wonderful family and friends who called us and sent cards and packages! We even got to Skype with my family on Christmas Day and that was super fun! What would we do without technology!?! Miss you and love you all!

Here are some pictures...

Jeanne made this adorable card!! LOVE it!! It is such gorgeous punch art!

Jessica has been so good and helpful this year. She is always willing to babysit for us and does a great job at it. We wanted to make her wishes come true for an American Girl doll and we were able to get her Kit. She was head over heels happy!

Jillian got a lot of fun toys but she loves her Aurora bath doll!

My parents gave us this beautiful picture of the Salt Lake Temple (where we were married!) Tears were shed... Thanks Mom and Dad!

Chris got these Scion cars FREE and the kids just loved playing with them and opening doors, checking the engine parts and all the cool options! Fun gift!

Jeremiah LOVES Legos and got three different sets! Yay!

My Grandma J sent Jess a beautiful little jewel box - I was checking it out...

I made Chris a little pocket album full of family pictures! He loved it!

My Stampin' Up! goodies! Thanks Santa!!

Miah's haul...

Waiting to go down to see what Santa brought!

Jilli got a fun scooter! She loves it and if it were warmer, she'd be outside on it all day!

Jessica's haul!

Jilli also got a Princess and the Frog doll set! So cute! (We loved the movie!)

Christmas Eve 2009

Christmas Eve finally arrived! Yay! The anticipation for this night had been building for months! We spent the evening with our friends, the Carrolls, and then came home to read the Christmas story in Luke 2 and open our "Santa's Elves" presents! Jillian opened hers so slowly (just to torture her older siblings I'm sure!) They loved their new jammies and were eager to get off to bed! (After placing their stockings and laying out the cookies and Mountain Dew for Santa!!)

Christmas Beauty!

I got these adorable photos of Jilli on Sunday! She wore a dress that Grandma H made for Jessica when she was little. I just LOVE it and it is perfect for the Sunday before Christmas! She posed so cute when I told her I wanted some pictures of her... She's so gorgeous! (I'm just a little partial!)

Winterland of Gingerbread event!

On Wednesday night, the kids and I participated in the Winterland of Gingerbread event through GVA (our homeschool academy). It was a fun event held at a local library. Everyone was supposed to decorate a gingerbread house to bring and display. We had a lot of fun putting ours together! We used a premade house and just decorated it. I suggested they use peanuts for the roofing material and it turned out really cute! The kids did all the decorating. They just told me where to scoop the frosting! I think Jillian ate most of the candy... but a little did make it onto the house! We got to see everyone else's houses and there were some really amazing ones! We voted on our favorites and they awarded prizes. They had lots of card games and board games to play and the kids made a few new friends. I just wished that Chris had been able to come with us! He spent the night at the barracks helping all the soldiers head out for Winter break. We didn't see him till the next morning... Poor guy!! But at least now the soldiers are gone for two weeks and we get to just enjoy having Chris home with us! No school for two weeks and I am beyond excited about that! Yay for Christmas vacation!!

Jess had the idea for the heart door!

Mr & Mrs Christmas...

On Sunday evening, we drove over to the home of a fellow who works with Chris. He had mentioned that he and his wife liked to host a Christmas open house for all their friends and their families and would we please come? Well, we did! And boy were we glad we did! Their house was unbelievable!!! So unbelieveable that my camera battery died... So all you get to see is the first two shots I took! It was amazing though! They had soooooo many lights up ousite their house and I have NEVER see so many Christmas decorations on the inside of their house! Their ENTIRE house is taken over by Christmas! EVERY room has a theme and is FILLED to the brim with Christmas decor of every shape and size!! It was AMAZING!!! We spent a couple hours there wandering through each room trying to see everything and then ended up in their kitchen where they stuffed our bellies with delicious Christmas goodies! They even gave presents to the kids as we were leaving! It was so amazing! It made my heart just fill up with Christmas goodness. Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Christmas (my name for them...) We loved our visit to your home!!

Just a bit of the front yard... I bet you could see it from Space!! The Griswalds have nothing on them!!

Ward Christmas Party!

Our Ward Christmas party was a ton of fun! We got the kids in their pajamas (except Miah who is a party pooper!) and took them out to the church. We invited our friend's along and Jilli was so excited! We ate breakfast for dinner and made a gingerbread castle from graham crackers and candy! They kids got to see Santa and color Christmas pictures. Jessica got a jingle bell painted on her cheek and it was an all-around fabulous time! It made us all very excited for Christmas to hurry up and get here!!
