The revisit

Greetings. I haven't stepped in here for quite sometime. Seems like the habit of blogging (to bitch, share or inspire) seems to have taken a vacation like Manchester United's recent form.

However, class is forever, whatever said here gonna be as epic.

So I went away for approximately a month, pretty tied down by auditing responsibilities in camp. Nevertheless, despite the little time I had to survive with for the past few weeks, I managed to squeeze time daily, without fail, to pop by my Girlfriend's inbox. :) She had been understanding and supportive throughout this period despite her tough schedule. And hence, behind every successful man, there is a successful lady. And even before I make my mark, my angel, already bright as she is, a successful ready I call mine.

Kinda low on cash. So for the next couple of months or so, I am gonna say lotsa, "no" to many people. I guess here shall be my breakdown:

Allowance : 820

Rainy day savings : 200
Insurance savings : 110
Unfinished business : 200
Girlfriend : 310
Myself : 0 .

YES, ZERO. I have to be discipline. I have to! 820 is totally uncool. I am dying to work. I mean, even if its giving tuition to primary school kids for 4 hours every weekend just to make a couple of hundreds more, I will grab it.

And so sorry Girlfriend. I know it sucks to shop with someone who can't drive you around YET, who can't skip around from mall to mall grabbing everything that we like without having to consider the price. I know it sucks. But patience please, I am working on it. Working very hard actually.

And hopefully the next time I drop by, I can happily declare that I have completed my unfinished business, moving to the next milestone of my life with her by my side.

Imperfection is a noun

Greetings. I am the noun , Imperfection.

I always had this thought which triggered me to ponder once awhile. Something annoying which I shamelessly put away all the time. Something which forced to convince myself to keep quiet about.

Yet, yet again.

Girlfriend showed me that a large percentage of women will not date guys who are of lower qualification and earns less than themselves.

My girlfriend will soon be a degree holder. Just right before I ORD, she will be holding a bachelor. And I ORD with a diploma, with additional 2 years of unpractical work experience which employers will not recognize if we were to pry their skull with a crowbar.

A bachelor equates higher income than a diploma holder. Enough said.

My poor Girlfriend. Her boyfriend is ugly, poor and uneducated. Offensive to many alpha male in Singapore, but fact is fact.

My Girlfriend tells me , " just throw a rock at any direction, anywhere. You will most probably hit a degree holder ". So I guess if the rock where to land on my grid, I shall kick it away, and save the embarrassment.

At times I am afraid to open up to her. It may pressurize her in some sense. She doesn't like to be in that boiler, she doesn't deserve to be in there.

Solo

I will not tell anybody of the hurdles I have to cross.

I don't believe in the people I love having to stand by me after I've failed. I am not made to fail. I am not created to fall short.

Depriving them of the knowledge will prevent them from expecting. Lack of expectations lessens the disappointment.

Nobody knows. And I am more than just a glass bottle.

I don't have forever to be with her. Because for anything, I will be the first to drop from her list.

And anything can happen.

Revival

Haven't been around for a long time. Somehow lost the touch to write something here. It wasn't something like a writer's block, just didn't have the mood to drop by. Girlfriend kept asking me to update something and I just procrastinated again and again

Anyway, the past 1 month has been pretty fulfilling. I've been surfing around, trying to get inspiration to do something for Girlfriend. I mean, I already got the idea. But just seeking that perfect location to reply to her snail letter. At times I really thought of giving up my idea, afraid she may grow impatient, and settle for something second best. But, what for when I have time to spare? We have time to share. :)

And proud to say, perhaps the last among my friends, I finally got to watch Despicable me last week with her. All the hype over the minions were not over rated as I dare say, this is the greatest animation I've caught so far after UP. Even Mary and Max couldn't match up to this awesome movie. However, Inception hasn't got registered in my brain.

I am having this mixed feeling about NDP coming towards an end. My Monday off days are on the brink of extinction.

Reima celebrated his Birthday with a blast. Met up with the gamers for awhile. Didn't really quite expect Leann to eventually bond so closely to them. I remembered her as my 1st FYP mate who asked me out for dinner and had to confirm time and time again that my friends wouldn't pop by. And Sharon's attendance was a surprise. Witnessing Reima and Sharon chatting happily was kinda nostalgic.

Sam went to Taiwan and dropped a postcard back. Taiwan, a place which Girlfriend and I gonna visit next year! I figured that her greatest fear isn't me checking out on those worldwide famous Tai-meis, but getting myself hooked on their flagship bubble tea! Watch the tummy grow, grow, grow!

It is relieving to watch Girlfriend interacting so well with my family. I mean, I haven't been blessed with the chance to spend quality time with her family other than her younger sister. But it makes me happy knowing that she feels comfortable with my family. Making orders, suggesting fun things to do, helping out etc.

I am a lucky bastard, if wouldn't for National Service

Rediscovery

This entry is about a week late. Excuse me for my tight schedules. However, I've mentioned about this place ever since I've set voyage. And here , I am going to share.

The date : Colorful Girl with Dull Boy .

Mint, Museum of Toys.

Many times we look at a place in pamphlets , all impressed with the advertising shots and flowery words decorating all over to entice you only to be disappointed after you actually set foot on that place. I know how it feels.

When my girlfriend showed me Mint's pamphlet, I was excited, yet, unsure. We promised each other to visit a museum and a museum of toys seems like a refreshing idea. I mean, since when was the last time you took out your wooden toy car and run them on the tiles of your floor and went , " ZRROOOOOMMM.. SCREEECHHHHHHHHHH" ?

Trust me, Mint will not fail you.

Okay, to suit the mood. She took the effort to get a little funky with her dressing. Appreciate it, in fact, love it. We actually had home made breakfast before setting off!

The place looked ordinary on the outside. In fact, it looked like, to me, a hotel lobby. And, that is the lift.

Walking through each gallery, you not only get to look at toys of that particular category, but also learn about their history. Like for example, I've learnt Germany, Japan and USA were once strong contenders for the World's best tin toy industry. And with that knowledge, I started to notice the difference in style and visual concepts of toys with very similar idea and mechanism. And odd as it may be sound, I felt that not only the gallery was an eye opener, it was quite an enriching one too.

Each level has its own specific category. They have :

Level 5 : Outer space. You not only get to see space ship toys, but also Star Wars life size mannequins and even ray guns.

Level 4 : Characters. Superheroes like Bat Man and Eagle Dan belong to this level. Popeye and TinTin along with many other comic book character shared this level as well.

Level 3 : Childhood Favorites : This is interesting. You get to see very old handmade wooden dolls and sewn toys.

Level 2 : Collectibles. For me, this is the most interesting level. They have a fleet of matchbox tin cars models. And this museum is not all about cartoon characters, comic super heroes, they even featured The Beatles and old movie posters like classic King Kong.

Now after visiting Mint, I kinda have an idea how a section of my future home will be like. :)

The option

First and foremost, thanks Ethel for inviting me to her birthday party. Watching Netherlands beat Brazil may be something I didn't expect, yet I am glad it happened. Brazil has lost their own unique playing style and they deserve to be beaten!

NDP rehearsal was different yesterday because Girlfriend and her friends were there during the combined rehearsal. It felt like a field camp earlier on as my socks were soaked ,many thanks to Poseidon anyway. The greatest irony was the reason I had to run in the rain was to retrieve umbrellas

EskiBar and Sarpino's pizzeria with the NDP supporters led by my Girlfriend. I was having a bad headache, my feet are aching, I was starving and I am almost broke and I miss Girlfriend. Then, I came to realize that it is not always beneficial to give options and choices. I mean, I know it will not be easy for her to have to choose spending dinner with me, or out chilling with her friends. And I know that no matter how tired am I, not being able to spend time with her isn't an option.

And with that, I am one step closer to a fuller adult, a higher mortal. And best of all, we witnessed this China Lady dancing on EskiBar's "dance floor" to RnB. She makes a good reference for SIMS 12, the mental hospital.

And seriously. C.S Cowboy at EskiBar is great. Lol. If you wanna give it a shot, try Sex on the Pool Table at Double O =] Same combination, just that EskiBar shot glass is taller and costs 9 bucks more.

Mood aside

I am going to share this once, and then forget about this whole statement and smile my day away, meaningfully

" The system taught me that none are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free."

Alright, Girlfriend is not feeling well. Guess it is due to fatigue built up for the past few days. She didn't exactly get enough rest after her Hong Kong trip, largely my fault. Have kept her busy all these while. So, I have a part to play in her recuperating process!

HELLO GIRLFRIEND, I WILL MAKE YOU HOT TEA AND SANDWICHES WHEN YOU ARE DONE!

To sum it all up :

Great weekend.

I haven't got the chance to retrieve pictures from Girlfriend's camera yet. We took quite a few "wallpaper-worthy" shots while taking a break at the Sky Park over at Vivocity. She was so excited about her new flats and to fuse into her joy, she suggested that we can perhaps take some shots of it.

Trust me, Sky Park on that day punched in that extra ounce of World Cup fever. Seeing indian kids running in that shallow pool of water above rocky brown pebbles with greenery as background made us felt as though we were at South Africa.

Okay, the reason we were at Vivocity was to celebrate my Dad's 61st birthday at Tajimaya Yakiniku. No doubt the price was steep. However, the food was pretty fresh. And best of all, they have a fan ventilation under every grill so the smoke from the grills doesn't stain your clothes.

See, no smell! Girlfriend smelt like she has just stepped out of the bathroom!

Then again, if you can't tolerate sub-standard services, don't bother patronizing. They are not worth the 10%. And glad, we didn't allow half-ass staff to spoil the fun!

And a peek into the future, this will be the configuration to my side of the family in the future. Unless we have a few more little ones coming along the way.

Speaking of little ones, my eldest sister just got married to Yide. It was held at a humble restaurant at Arab Street. And yes, Girlfriend turned up as well, as part of MY family =]. Emphasis made, "MY family" .

And yesterday made me wanna be a photographer. My sister engaged a photographer, word has it to be professional . He dropped by with a huge DSLR, and a set of lens cleaning kit. Took weird stances while snapping throughout the solemnization . To wrap up his new portfolio add-ons, he orchestrated this shot.

Well, its the king and his queen by the throne kinda shot. But wassup with the damaged wall and air condition unit? Seriously, the lighting, on set, with adjusted window shutters, was great but it wasn't captured. He wield his camera like a wand, and oh what a pity, nothing magical was being conjured

Well, this shot is better. Taking advantage of the colors and great placement of light above at the ceiling. At ISO 1600, the picture turned out grainy , but still, the composition and lighting study was there. And it was Roy who taught me the terms and setting, I ain't that good. LOL

And it was by me =x . TEEHEE

And the family shots.

And yes, Girlfriend took the effort to pick her dress, heels, accessories for this event. And it reminded me, once again, that I have to be presentable standing next to her. And especially, hopefully, eventually, in front of her family. I need to grow up, earn more, and be better!

2nd sister and Roy have left for Australia this morning. They will be there for couple of years to study. Mom cried as they walked into the departure hall and I guess my sister didn't really dare to turn back to see us waving and bidding our goodbyes. Well, after they've settled down there, we will all head over to pay them a visit. And hopefully, Girlfriend can join us too :)

For all the good things that happened to me, I hope you can derive joy from my happy days.

I love my Girlfriend. Random, but necessary to end it off this way. TEEHEE!
