Grandma Farrelly and the Spring Break Visit

My mom had a week off of work, due to spring break, and she decided to spend it with us in Michigan. She came for a whole week and it was so much fun having her stay with us. We did so many fun things including...

1. Walked downtown
2. Went to the park
3. Took Alexis outside so she could walk around
4. Went out to eat, twice, to restaurants only in Michigan
5. Bought donuts, chocolates, and other sweet tooth cravings
6. Went SHOPPING! Alexis scored with some cute new spring clothes.
7. Played games
8. Watched Chris's new Seinfeld series
9. Talked, and talked and talked
10. And, took videos and pics of Alexis

We did so much more, but the idea is that we packed a ton of stuff into her visit. Chris was working and going to school, but he took breaks to play games with us. Again, thank you mom for coming and please, come back anytime and often. And, you can bring dad with you next time. :)

Chris is 26 years old!

Yesterday, St. Patty's Day, Chris celebrated his 26th birthday. I cannot believe he is already 26. He cannot believe it either! Anyways, I hope he had a good day. He had to go to school, but after, the festivities began. We all went out to Buddy's pizza for dinner. It was amazing pizza. The food network ranked it the number 5 pizza restaraunt in the U.S; so we decided to try it. I am glad we did. Chris LOVES pizza so he was in heaven. After dinner, we came home and Chris, with Alexis's help, opened presents. Here is a list of what he received.

1. 2 shirts and a pair of pants from Mom and Dad Farrelly
2. Two games: Mad Gab, from Mom and Dad Farrelly, and Are you Smarter than a Fifth Grader DVD edition from me.
3. Junk food from Mom and Dad Farrelly, including IBC root beer, pringles, butterfingers, and pop tarts. (These are all his favorite things that I do not buy).
4. Lucky Charms pajama pants and a St. Patty's shirt from Mom and Dad Glidewell. He also got green balloons and a St. Patty's Clapper toy from Mom and Dad Glidewell. Alexis loved the clapper toy.
5. And, then, his favorite present of all, Seinfeld all 9 seasons on DVD. It came with a coffee table book. Last night, we watched two episodes. It was great without commercials.
6. Alexis got Daddy some balloons. One for St. Patty's Day and three for his birthday.

All in all, he made out with some good presents. For dessert, he requested strawberry cheesecake, so I made him strawberry cheesecake. I tried a brand new recipe for the strawberry glaze and cheesecake, so I was a little nervous, but luckily, it came out tasting fantastic, if I do say so myself. My mom said it tasted just like cheesecake you get at a restaurant and Chris had two pieces! It will be the cheesecake I make for now on.
Anyways, after we ate, Alexis went to bed, and we played mad gab and watched seinfeld. Happy Birthday Christopher and have a great 26th year.

Our Anniversary: #3

Today was our third anniversary! It was a great day. First, Chris surprised me with an icecream maker; a gift that benefits us both. It is so awesome. We have been talking about getting one for a while but never have so he surprised me with one. It attaches to my kitchen aid, it is so cool. Anyways, enough of that. But you can see I was excited. Next, I received flowers from Chris today. He had them delivered and everything. He picked out sunflowers, which happen to be my all-time favorite flower. Isn't he sweet? I can never surprise Chris with gifts for lots of reasons, so I made him a nice scrapbooked card. Chris loves cards, he keeps everyone from everybody so he liked it. Then, we got a sitter for Lexi and Chris and I went to Macaroni Grill for dinner. It was so special this time because we went ALL out. Meaning, we got appetizers, desserts, expensive entrees, and we even got dessert, to go. That is huge for us. We hardly ever go out to eat, and if we do we definately do not get appetizers, drinks, or desserts, so you can see how extra special it was. In fact, we got two desserts because we could not decide on one, so Chris got his and I got mine. Oh, the simple pleasures in life. Anyways, I am excited to be married to my cutie pa tutie for three whole years! A lot has happened to us in this amount of time. In fact, over dinner we were listing off everything that has happened to us. I thought I would share some of what we came up with.

1. Chris and I each graduated with our undergrad at ASU.
2. I got my first "real" job teaching second grade
3. Car got stolen
4. Lived next to serial killer, oh yeah, good times
5. Lexi was born
6. Chris got in to law school
7. Moved states
8. Rented our first house, instead of apartment
9. Bought our first car, meaning, used our own money for a vehicle
10. Waiting for baby number two. No, just kidding, wanted to see if you are still reading.

Anyways, I could go on, but I won't. The idea is a lot has happened to us in the short three years of our marriage. I love Chris and am grateful that our marriage will last beyond mortality. He is my best friend and my only true love. I love being married and am grateful we could be sealed in the temple so that our children can also be ours forever. If you ask me, I am one lucky girl.

Princesses eat Flower Cupcakes

Okay, so I went a little nuts with the pictures, but my family asked for details so here you go. Alexis's first birthday was fun. We had bbq beefs sandwiches for dinner, opened presents, and ate cupcakes! Yummy! Thank you all who gave Alexis presents, they are so great! Enjoy the pictures, they really tell the story.

What's Cooking?!

I have created a new blog dedicated to food. I want to share my favorite recipes with all of my friends. Recipes range from breads to salads to main dishes to desserts. Basically, everything edible. I have also included a list of foods that are currently in season and a fun quote I like from Rachael Ray. As time goes on, I will add pictures and make this a great recipe exchange site. I would also like you to send me your favorite recipes that you feel are blog worthy. I love trying new recipes. All of the recipes I have posted are the best of its kind. I feel confident in saying that. If you try one of my recipes and you feel you have a better one, please send me yours. I am always looking for the best of the best. The link is

Valentines Day 2009

Valentines Day this year was a lot of fun. This is the last first holiday for Alexis.
Chris and I do not like to go out on Valentines Day for lots of reasons, but mainly because the restaurants are too crowded and we are homebodies. So, we stayed in and I cooked, which I love to do. The menu included parmesan chicken, parmesan couscous, peas, and homemade dinner rolls. Then, we had strawberry cheesecake for dessert. This was the first time I made a cheesecake, so I was nervous, but it turned out really tasty so I was happy. Chris bought me some white tulips which was very sweet of him. They were the centerpiece for our table. Then, I decorated the table so it had more of a restaurant feel. We ate dinner by candlelight and Alexis could not stop looking at the flickering lights of the candle. She loved it. When Alexis went to bed, Chris and I watched a movie. The movie was good. All in all, it was nothing completely out of the ordinary, but for us, it was a perfect day.

Icicles Invade

Living in cold weather, we have come to learn some things about mother nature. Icicles, alothough pretty, are a bad sign. It shows that you have bad insulation. We have icicles all over our house. But the point is, we had an icicle on our sunroom's roof that is taller than Chris. We decided to break it off and show you guys what I mean. The thing is huge!
