Wedding Dinner

Accomplished much during this period!
Bought more furniture and appliances, met ID to discuss carpentry works and more, ordered more fixtures, met wedding co-ordinator to discuss the theme, table settings and colours, choice of flowers and wedding cake and so on...
Realised that i have not really focussed on the wedding dinner details.
Ok, here are some pictures on the theme for the nite. 90% similar...could hopefully only be better...hee..

Oh and btw, we have received the wedding invitation cards, so hopefully, we should be sending out them to u soon, otherwise, if we all do mt, i'll give u the "red bomb" personally...sigh, we would really like to personalise those cards for u, but we might have little time and resources, so please pardon us for not doing more. 'Cuz we have to fold the cards and inserts, tie the ribbons, write your names, and place the cards into the envelopes ourselves.

We have also engaged a wedding band that nite! And the song list is out! Mind u, i have listened to hundred over wedding songs over and over again, for 80-90 times over the last few months!!
How?
1. On the train
2. on the bus
3. at home
4. reading the lyrics of some songs to determine if they are appropriate
5. watching some music videos
6. bought some cds with jazz songs, oldies, classic love songs
7. sieved through the Singapore Brides Forum to find songs
8. brainstorming with DD
9. browsing at cd shops
etc
etc
etc...
only to bring u the best selection, of what we perceived as the best, i hope as well!

Oh, i mean "song list" as in the songs that the singers will perform, background music (when they are not performing), cocktail music, 1st dish music, march-in songs, and music for toasting, cutting the cake, even songs for the montage! I have shortlisted a total of 80+ songs!
DD said i'm crazy, yes i think i might have overdone it. To think that i have quipped at him for not contributing much to the song selection..haha. But i really want to make sure that everything, every little detail (that i try not to miss) will turn out good, if not fine. And i have got to know so many singers and wedding songs in much a short time! If i have the chance to release a compilation album on wedding songs, i think i may do it well..hee..oh, and if anyone of u need some information on any wedding matters in future, i can lend u all my resources!! =p

Will be attending the food tasting session this Sat, and oso the Mid-Autumn festival!! So stay tune, as I shall bring u the confirmed menu soon after...
Meanwhile, happy romantic Mid-Autumn festival!

Inspiration for our new house thru' a song...

Guess it yet?

Halfway thru Renovations - part1

It's been a mth since we last met Blogger! Was really really busy with teeny weeny little details on renovations and wedding preps, not forgetting the overweight workload nowadays! All the annual events at work popped up at the same time, what wrong timing it is..haha.

Didn't give me much chance to be indulged in my day-dreams of my wedding and new house. Didn't give me much chance to be brainwashed with CHANGE MANAGEMENT.

Let's just talk about the latest updates first.

Yesterday, after a 3-hr long session to decide/discuss on colours for walls and doors, electrical points, and other small details, ID Darren brought us to buy curtains! We finalised our lights and ordered them as well. So for fittings and fixtures, we have bought everything except for the built-in oven.

*Side-tracking...the problem with buying a resale flat and renovating for the whole house means that every little detail needs to be taken care of, taps, basins, toilet bowls, bathroom accessories, heaters, hood and hob, switches, electrical points..u basically start from scratch with the whole unit with just walls. Even the walls are "processed"!

Anyway, here's a picture of what our guest room would be like.

i love the wall colour! and i read from papers recently that this colour is in! Love the lights too, but they aren't going to be for real...boo~

Some of our lights...

Renovation commences...

Last Friday was the official commencement of the grand renovation of our new house!!

Went to the house yesterday for "photo shoot"...see how grand i made it to be! *chey* But we weren't around during the official commencement anyway...haha..

Notices were put up at the side wall of our main door, more likely to prevent complaints from our poor neighbours, who had to put up with the deafening noise!!

Wow, never occured to me that renovating is like cooking, cuz they are using ponni RICE, c.f. FLOUR and REFINED SUGAR.

Bye bye old tiles..

Bye bye old wall...

Bye bye old lights...

Bye bye....till then...

Excited...

Excited!!!

3mths+ more to our BIG DAY!

Going to start renovation tomorrow, i'm not sure if we are considered early or late to start renovation now. It takes max. 2mths to complete, by then it'll just be end-Sep only, which means we have about 1.5mths to settle furniture, appliances and move in!

We bought, or paid for deposits at least, our bed, TV and sofa...hey, the big-ticket items! And we have been scouting around for more, but i guess we still haven't done enough. Anyway, there's still time!

So this 1.5mth-period for new settlement seems sufficient, but boy! We still have to make time for our wedding preparations!

It is really a big challenge to do house and wedding simultaneously. Time challenge, money challenge...

Right, so we are expecting renovation very soon.
And meeting our ID on the coming Sun. (House)
And meeting the wedding co-ordinator at Marriott next Fri. (Wedding)
And going for facial and hair colour next Sat. (Personal Grooming)
And planning to meet a couple of music bands the week after next. (Wedding)
And planning to meet Ravi, our Thai "fortune-telling/geomancy" friend for auspicious dates and times. (House & Wedding)
And of course buying furnishings and fixtures (hell lot of them countless items!!) (House)
And lots more...

Pre Wedding Shoot 170709

Oh, i'm in a romantic mood now..really...listening to wedding/love/romantic songs...
"Forever my darling, I will be true, Always fall in love, I'll love only u.."
It's pledging my love, by elvis..hmm...hmm...hmm...

Yesterday would be one of the most unforgettable days of my life...it's our pre-wedding shoot, or studio/outdoor shoot, or whatever u call it.
Really like our PG (photographer), Jeffrey from Chris Ling Studio...trained by Chris Ling himself...he's handsome (*blushing* dun let Eric know), and patient, and understanding etc etc etc...*day-dreaming..

Ok, shall describe what happened yesterday.

It's really not a good idea to read too much related stuff on bridal mags and Singapore Brides forum..i ended up bringing too much things! i brought sewing kit (!!!), nail polish (!!!), props - the teddy bear, our love letters and cards (forgot to ask DD to bring the hat and red feathered fan (from his co D&D - hey, but maybe we can use them for gate crashing instead...i have ideas brewing up in my mind...), makeup essentials (!!!), one extra pair of heels, one dress (for casual wear shots), nude stockings (!!!), dry and wet tissues, perfume, contact lens solution, eye drop (!!!), oil blotter, extra accessories (!!!) etc etc etc.

And u know, those items which i put "!!!" were redundant! So, u r exclaiming? That's why i put "!!!" to mark the exclamation!

Ok, the point is (ok sorry, i'm only reaching the "point" now) i THOUGHT i would have enough time to pack those things in the morning..i wanna slp earlier, i slept at 11pm+ in e end, and i gotta reach the studio at 10am, and as u guess it, i was late! then i called a cab, "toh-long" the drive to drive faster, and he agreed that I could eat in the car, and so i finished my "tau-huay" for breakfast..whew!

Felt so apologetic to my MUA (make-up artist), Ah-Sia, though he didn't mind. U see, before the actual pre-wedding shoot, he did trial makeup one week earlier and we were late, and i promised him i would be early on the actual pre-wedding shoot day..but i didn't kept my promise...didnt think he remembered that anyway. heehee.

i like Ah-Sia too, like his style (the way he presents himself) as a MUA..hee..."soft man"..i even teased him during the makeup, and had some sudden giggles while he did my eyes (i couldn't control myself...kinda disrupted his "work") but funnily, he laughed with me together - for nothing. hahaha....and my giggles became loud laughters - all for nothing. hahahahaha...ok, stupid me. So much so for all the sudden 笑场..haha..
See those pics..

First two costumes were the kua (chinese traditional wedding costume) and the japanese kimono (?) followed by the evening gown (to be worn on actual day during banquet) with some sexy poses...(*whistle) and then the wedding gown (to be worn during the day and when banquet starts) with all our props and hand bouquet as well.
Spent a lot of time doing those studio shoots with Jeffrey (*blushing again*)...
We were very very stiff. The tons of weight lifting must have lifted my shoulders. Jeffrey kept asking me to put my shoulders down, but i guess they are like that. I felt so difficult to even do a simple pose naturally. Jeffrey then comforted, "nvm then, they r like tt." He really need to compromise, and make some adjts to his shots to hide our weaknesses (alot!) and show our strengths.
DD was worse. Not only stiff, but also slow in responding. He was too tired. He wasn't late, but he stayed up till 1am+ to prepare his own things! Including shirts, ties, bow tie, cufflinks, love letters, shoes etc.
And the verdict? Slow response, drowsy eyes, crooked smiles. haha. Ok la, he didn't want to smile widely (though Jeffrey kept asking him to show his teeth), cuz he didn't want to make his small eyes become slits. haha. oops. So Jeffrey joked, "So your 3 souls are still in bed. Just now I thought only 2 were on bed, and the other one with u." hahaha...正所谓醉酒三分醒...LOL...
So if u were him, are smiles more impt or keeping his eyes open more impt? Actually it's individual preferences, there's no rite or wrong. So can't really "control" DD. This is what Jeffrey said. True.
Had a really good time! While i was at the studio doing my trial makeup last week, saw two couples (one of whom was photographed by Jeffrey - lucky couple! ",) looking so "glum" and tired. Not me! I felt even more energised after the photo shoot, do u believe that? But of course, minus the fact that we were sticky, hot, messy. But those could be salvaged with a teeny bit of perfume and makeup for touching up. = )
Even met up my sisters for dinner and drinks at Brewerks. hehe...of course DD went with me. He wouldn't say NO to beers, nope, i should say alcohols. Oh god.
Even slept at 1am+, and was tossing around. i guess there were too many excited things to keep me awake still. Even woke up next day at 6.30am for my company's teambuilding event.
This is a hectic weekend. I'm also going for the 10km Shape Run tomorrow, starting at 7am.
But it's so fulfilling!! I like getting married. Like taking photographs. Like Jeffrey.
Like Jeffrey's job too. It's a job which his customers would like him. Being a PG allows u to reveal the different sides of the couple, alot of which they don't normally show in public at other times. The shy side, the sexy/alluring/provocative side, the teasing side, the genuinely happy side with actions. Change, change, change. Taking those photos with so many sides, some of which even the couple themselves would not be aware of, and taking those photos with ever so grand and attractive gowns and suits, which the couple might only have the chance to wear once in their lifetime. He actually recorded the special, once-in-a-lifetime memories that a couple would ever have, and discover themselves through the lens, the true bliss and happiness they would enjoy in a marriage, of which two persons become one. It's really a meaningful job.
I LIKE WEDDING PGs!!!!!! Who knows, i may be one someday...*winkz.
