Well would you look at that. Another list. Lucky you :)
Things I currently hate:
1. Vomit - this is nothing new, but it has ousted snakes from it's longstanding #1 spot. For at least a few days and for good reason. Trust.
2. MRSA and ensuing visits to the ER with a 2 year old.
3. Throwing away perfectly good red velvet cupcakes because they were made minutes before #1 kicked my butt. Painful it was hearing Doug throw them in the garbage on the off chance I contaminated my entire office with the stupid stomach bug :(
4. Snakes.
5. Pesky door-to-door salesman who refuse to take no for an answer and refuse to acknowledge my annoyance when I'm not even 2 seconds into my house from an hour+ drive home with shoes, purse, and Borders bag still in hand, and he doesn't pause in his schpiel of whatever crap alarm system he's trying to sell me for 3 TIMES the amount I'm currently paying and get the eff out of my house and stop using scare tactics about sh*t that could happen because I choose a cheaper and just as effective system!
And there you have it. The top 5 things I currently hate most right now. Ask me again tomorrow and it just might change :)

Music Association
Thanks to the uncertainty of stomach bugs, I drove into work yesterday just in case got a call from daycare to come pick up Sydney. I enjoy driving in for several reasons. First, I am pretty much guaranteed a seat in my own car. If not, I've got bigger problems. Second, there is no volume limit on my radio. Third, I don't have to make unwanted conversation with someone who is sitting on top of me instead of in their own seat. Fourth, I get to sleep in half an hour and still make it to work early. Fifth, I get home half an hour earlier than when I ride the bus, unless some moron decides to wreck his car on 295 and block 2 of 3 lanes of traffic right where a million cars are feeding into 295 from 395 on the 11th Street Bridge. But I digress.
On the same token, I also don't enjoy driving in for several reasons. First, I don't enjoy sitting in DC traffic whereas on the bus (see moron on 295 above), I just close my eyes and sleep right through it. Second, I am limited to how loud I can play my ipod without getting the stink eye from fellow passengers. This is normally not an issue but there are times when you just want to crank up a song and sing along at the top of your lungs. Hey, you try listening to old school Bon Jovi with locked lips. Go on, I'll wait...see? It's hard. Third, when my ipod battery is dead, I'm inevitably stuck sitting next to a chatty kathy who won't shut up the whole ride home rendering my napping attempts useless. Fourth, I get home half an hour later thanks to all our stops. Really, they should just have a Teresa Express route that picks up people at my stop downtown and drops off at my car. That's not asking too much is it?
Anyway, the point of all this is that on the ride in I heard three songs in succession, Hey Joe, Honky Tonk Woman, and Don't Fear the Reaper. All three reminded me of my friend Garry back home. I love that I think of him any time I hear those songs and it was funny they all came on back to back to back this morning. Made me a little cheerier being awake and driving so dang early in the morning. So here's a list of other people I think about when I hear certain songs thanks to bars, karaoke, concerts, or random life events that would require lots of adult beverages and more time than I've got to explain :)
Brickhouse - Miss Parker
Life is a Highway - Elias. Market Street anyone?
Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Newell. Is there a more perfect song for a duet at the Waterin' Hole?
Stop Dragging My Heart Around - Garry and Miss Parker make an awesome Petty and Nicks!
Anything by Aeromsmith - Garry and Steve. Nine Lives tour!!!
Pat Benatar - Garry and Elias. Do I even need to mention the House of Blues as the reason??
In the Air Tonight - Mike Tyson. Thank you Hangover for letting me know I'm not the only one who LOVES doing air drums to this song.
Summer of 69 - Tim, my brother-in-law. We carpooled to his mom's house once and he put the beginning on repeat over and over again. I doubt he remembers anything from that ride except me spilling peanut m&ms all over his mustang!
Angel Eyes - Miller. I don't remember why you were so fascinated with The Jeff Healy Band, but it amuses me every time I hear this song. And watch Road House.
Total Eclipse of the Heart - Jeff. Slo-mo dove!
Good music. Good friends. Good times.

2010 National Police Week 5k
It's that time of year again folks. Tomorrow I will run in my third National Police Week 5k. Like last year, when I picked up my race packet I was assigned an officer to run in memory of since I had not chosen anyone when I registered.

It is my honor to run for Assistant Chief Joseph Christopher Cannon of the Plumerville Police Department, who was shot and killed June 19, 2009, while making a traffic stop and discovering the vehicle was stolen. He was 2 weeks away from retirement after 27 years of law enforcement service.
I hope to make you proud Officer Cannon!

Warning Labels
WARNING: The following items may or may not increase the size of your hips, promote foot pain, and create a giant time suck in your already scarce spare time. Consume at your own risk :)
1. Cheez-Its. Or as I am going to start calling them, mommy crack. I struggle to put these in the diaper bag as a snack for Sydney because I know I'll inevitably eat all of them instead. You can't eat just one, unless by one you really mean an entire box in one sitting.
2. The Vampire Diaries. Have you seen the Salvatore brothers?

3. Food and/or baking blogs. You'll be shamelessly checking your google reader every morning in hopes they've updated. Don't say I didn't warn you. Joy the Baker, Bakerella, PW.
4. Bake It Pretty. Why do you have to make the cuteness so readily available internet?
5. My Blackberry.
6. Havianas flip flops. Like the cheez-its, you can't stop with one. You want them in every color!
7. Barq's root beer. A whole 2 liter will be needed to wash down the box of mommy crack you will inevitably eat while watching Vampire Diaries, checking for updates from Joy on your Blackberry, wearing comfy sweats and your favorite Havianas!

A hop, skip, and a jump...
In case you don't know, there's a fondness of sidewalk chalk in our household. Don't believe me? Just look at that happy face!

Now, that's not to say it's always used on the sidewalk or driveway, but there's a love for it nonetheless. Lately, Sydney has been asking for me to draw her hopscotch when we're outside. And who am I to say no to my sweet baby girl?

More cupcakes!
Red velvet, cream cheese icing, and the cutest little red sprinkles! You just can't say no to all that sugary goodness! Everybody at work seems to like them. I just hope Ollie, my afternoon bus driver, likes them too, since I made them for his birthday. Maybe I'll get a free bus ride if he does...

Again, Edward approves :)
