Schools (not) out for summer...

the time has come...to start school again! We had a fun but quick 2 weeks of summer and back to learning we go!! I think with the excitement of new classes, new teachers and new friends, the kids were excited to go back!! Halles first day of 1st grade was a breeze! She walked right in, found her desk and got to work! It has been so nice to have her big brother to show here the roaps and explain the rules!! Their classes are right down the hall from each other so that makes it easy for me! Caden started 3rd grade and was excited to be IN the school; he was in a portable last year! Carson and I are quite bored without the big kids home! It's amazing how much you can get done when you don't have to worry about kindergarten times! Full day school is awesome. Carson starts preschool in a month and he is so excited! Apparently I'm not as fun to be with as Halle and Caden!!
Halle is in Mrs. Barkers class (she was my Laurel advisor!)
Cadens teacher is Miss Peterson (there is something wrong when your childs teacher graduated college in 2007! Am I really that old?)

After school, the kids home to fresh baked cookies (a first day of school tradition) and I went through lots of paperwork. Steve was out of town, so we all went to our family favorite, Training Table for dinner!
Oh, how we love the first day of school!!

The Oregon Coast

We have come and gone on our fun summer trip to the Oregon Coast. Oregon is such a beautiful state and trust me, I know, we drove completely thru it! In total, we drove 26 hours and 1900 miles! The kids did great! I think they are all at good ages to drive that much (plus they are used to the Lake Powell drive). They had fun playing musical cars, between ours and my parents, playing they're DS, watching movies and of course, sleeping!!

Seaside, Oregon! The water is not swimming water but most of us braved it and at least put our feet in!! The kids could have played in the sand all day! They loved it!
Every morning, Steve and the kids would wake up and walk down to the beach (we were 3 houses away from the ocean! It was awesome!!) and collect sand dollars. We had quite the collection.

Carson

I have never spent the 4th of July anywhere but Kaysville! This year was a first. Seaside has a huge 4th of July celebration and gets all decked out!

We had so much fun having our firework celebration at the beach! It was a fun and different experience to do sparklers in the sand! We even had a campfire. They had a big fireworks show right on the beach! It was so crowded but so much fun.

We drove down to Tillamook, Oregon. This is where they make Tillamook cheese, the best cheese ever! We got to take a little tour of the factory and milk a plastic cow!!!

A great view from the Pacific Coast Highway! Grandma and Grandpa

The other kids were sleeping!

Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock. Just a little bit chilly

Dad, Mom, Steve, Caden, Craig and Chris all went out for a day of deep sea fishing! Caden and his first salmon!
They caught 12 salmon which we enjoyed for dinner the same night!
No life jacket! Ahhhh!!
Look at my poor baby! Little did all these fisherman know, they got sooo sick! 4 out of 6 of them (pictured) all puked over the side of the boat the whole time!! When they called to tell us, Heather and I were laughing so hard. These big boys who said they wouldn't get sick...well they did. I felt bad for Caden but it was quite funny picturing everyone else heaved over the boat!!
Thank heaven my mom was there! And not sick!

Just walking distance from our house was this cute little aquarium. The kids got to feed seals and have a hands on experience with some star fish and crabs. Halle was the first to hold everything! Her inner tomboy came out!!

We went and bought these huge, fresh crabs and had them for dinner! Yum~!

All in all it was a great trip with lots of fun new memories! The beach house was great, the beach was great and the company was great! What more can you ask for?

Another fun trip

to Lake Powell! This time with Harris and Hart workers and their families!! I'm trying to get caught up on my blogging and Lake Powell a couple of weeks ago needs to be included. We enjoyed some fun in the sun, great food, and lots of laughs with some great friends from Steves work! We had everyone bring their kiddos so that was lots of fun for our kids!!
Cash, Carson and Easton
These boys are all close in age and had so much fun playing together

Carsons idea of wake boarding!!
Steve is getting so good at surfing and actually letting go of the rope! We are loving our new boat! It works great for surfing and wake boarding!
Caden learned how to wake board this spring and is getting so good! He is working on "getting air" and is so close!!
our 3 sun babies!!

yes, I made them do this! It was too cute!! These are pictures I will treasure forever! We sure love Lake Powell and can't wait to get back! We are going in August and it should be around 110 degeees! The water is going to feel great!!

We have a...

bunch of wood, that is resembling a HOUSE!!
Yeah, it's moving right along!

Last Day of School

Our last day of school was July 2! The kids had such a busy week with fieldtrips, end of level testing and getting ready for our week long trip to Oregon! It is crazy that we are already done with another year of school. Halle loved kindergarten and made so many new friends! Her best friends were Sarah, Elena, Hailey, Kaitlyn and Maddy. Of course she made friends with Parker, Jackson, Gage and Camden too!! That's my girl!!
Halle and Mrs. Syversen! We love her!!
Cadens 2nd grade program! His cute teacher made a DVD of the program and some pictures of the kids throughout the year. We were all watching it the other night and I was bawling! We are so lucky to live in such a great community with such awesome kids!

Caden and Carson at Cadens fieldtrip to the zoo. I only got 2 pictures, because, SURPRISE SURPRISE, my camera battery died.

Austen, Caden, Ellie (future Harris), Caleb and Noah
