SNOW DAY!
Welcome back to the little part of Harper Life called "Kate Blogs!" where, well, Kate blogs! Last week, we had some official SNOW days! Wow! Snow in Charleston!
Here's our house in the snow!
Me making a snow angel in the snow...
We went down to the marsh. It was so weird to see little clump of white in the cold waters.
In front of the marsh...
Here's my dad by the marsh!
Frozen plant! They looked so cool!
Lila in the snow! She loved the snow in Knoxville so much, so I bet she enjoyed the Charleston snow!
The boys made a snow fort! It was here until Monday, 5 days after it snowed!
Jackson with an icicle...
We had a Christmas Dum-Dum flavor challenge that ended with Jackson, Benjamin, and I stuffing out mouths with 5 lollipops!
That was our snow day blogging adventure!

Cumberland Island- Kate Blogs!
We're back! After a long time period... Jackson just had his tenth birthday, Benjamin is eight, and I'm eleven. Going back to just before my 11th birthday last April when we had our eighth year of Skogmooper at Cumberland Island with the Moores and the Skogmans.
Here I am with Clare, Emma, Jackson, and Benjamin putting up the kids' tent.
In the hammocks...
We had the best hammock set up this year!
The men with their coffee...
Some of the boys made a "band" to amuse us on the trail with Jackson on the harmonica, Baxter on his backpack emergency whistle, and Jasper slapping his water bottle.
We met a horse because that's one of the cool things about Cumberland: wild horses!
Emma and me on bikes!
S'mores!
Cumberland Island has the prettiest trees!
Beach!
Shadow pictures are just so cool!
Morning beach!
I think Benjamin's favorite part of the beach was digging holes!
The morning, complete with a warm fire.
I love always having the traditional Skogmooper pictures, so here is this years!
And there must be a funny version...
Heading back to the mainland on The Cumberland Princess! (That's what the boat is called.)
During our time on the island, we worked on our Junior Ranger booklets so we could become J.R.'s for Cumberland. Here we are being "sworn" in!
All's well that ends well!
Until our next blogging adventure, Kate is out!

Camping Birthday
Jackson turned 7 earlier this month. We planned a camping trip the weekend of his birthday so I made a S'mores pie for him instead of a cake. Very sweet and tasty!

He got a tool kit for his birthday-- love the expression on all of their faces as he opened it up! Hope he is able to create some cool things and learns how to be safe too!
Saturday morning we headed out for a weekend of camping and fishing with our Skogmooper gang! It's the first time our kids have gone fishing. The weather was warm enough that they were able to play in the creek as well and make a dam.
Finished product!
My sister's family came up to join us for a day and Jamie's brother stayed with us the whole weekend, so we got to spend time with so many special people! The kids were having fun with Emma's camera. They were doing individual portraits with the Skogmooper sign, getting people posed just how they wanted them!
And we have to do a shot with all the kiddos, of course!
We grilled the fish to have for dinner on Sunday. Great dinner!
There was a cabin on the property, which was so great because it provided a dry place for us to hang out! While it didn't rain much during the day, there were some storms during the night and we were all a bit damp inside our tents.
Beautiful old cabin!
We are so thankful for the chance to spend a great weekend with friends! Thanks to Doug's dad for letting us camp there!!
