Christmas 2007

Of coarse this Christmas was more fun for Harrison! Here he is enjoying his new toolbench that he got from Grandma Jeanne! It's so fun to get new things to play with!
The three - or should I say four of us Christmas Day by our tree!
No doubt there is always room for John Deere toys from Grandpa & Grandma Rogness! The competition has started though because my brother got Harrison a Case tractor too for Christmas! Either way, they are all fun to play with!
We hope you all had a wonderful time with family and friends during this Christmas season! We pray God's blessings on all of you as we enter 2008!

What's Worse - Teething or A Cold??

Harrison has been a little irritable by teeth and a nasty virus this last week. Fever, cough, congested - you name it, he's dealt with it. He also has 1 tooth that we know of for sure that has been taking its time making its way through his gums! His fingers are in his mouth constantly. Add in the runny nose and a cough, and you have a miserable boy. No fun, especially over Christmas!

Prayer Request

I just wanted to put out a prayer request for all of you prayer warriors out there! My brother-in-law Jeff is driving home from Canada today - trying to make it without stopping. He is in Camrose (by Edmonton) and has an 18 hour drive today! Please pray that he would make it home safely and that he wouldn't have any troubles with his car. He will be getting a more reliable one when he gets here, but the one he has needs to get him here! Much Thanks, Brooke!

Booster & Bottle

I'm not sure why the straps on Harrison's booster seat are so exciting to play with, but he LOVES to do this after he eats! Whatever makes the boy happy! This was just too cute of a picture of H and Daddy that I couldn't resist!
Last night Harrison found this 2 liter and had so much fun with it. This was mainly what was happening! He would tip it up (with/out hands), and when he would take it out he would lick and smack his lips. There wasn't anything left inside, but I'm sure a little sugar was left on the rim that he was tasting. This kid is always finding something new to figure out!

The Art of Scooping

I have tried to introduce Harrison to a spoon over the past week to see how he would do. He has enough patience for me to help him at first, but then decides that he would rather do it on his own (accomplishing nothing.)
So . . . needless to say, the fingers are put back to their good use and come to the conclusion that this is a faster mode to eating!

19 Weeks 2 Days - Dec. 10th

Okay, so some have asked to see the bump, so here you go! Kevin was sitting on the chair - sorry for the bad angle. I never took any pics of me pregnant with Harrison, so this is a little weird to be showing off. I know that I'm bigger this time at this point, due to it being the second, but I've been reassured that I'm not measuring big!

Soft blankie

Harrison has 2 of these blankies, which is wonderful because one is in the crib and the other goes with to Grandma's or Cassandra's for naptime! He loves buring his head in it, smelling it, and just snuggling with it!

Sniffles

Harrison started battling a cold at the end of last week. Which means that a runny nose is always involved! He hates it when we try to wipe his nose, but if he can do it himself it's okay! We can give him a kleenex, he'll put it up to his nose, and blow to his little hearts desire! I'm still trying to get a good video of it - it's quite hilarious to see and hear him do this! Most of the time he is on the run while doing it, so chasing after him is out. Along with this is another batch of teeth working their way up! I have a feeling that it won't be just one, so it will be interesting to see just how many come through.

UNO

"THE GRINCH"

Auntie Jill LOVES "The Grinch!!!" Last year for Christmas she got him the book and the stuffed Grinch to go with it. This weekend they got to come home and spend some time with family, so Harrison got to sit on Jill's lap and read the book. The book obviously didn't get read with all the words with complete detail, but none the less they had a great time together! Daddy and Harrison also saw "The Grinch" on TV and had to call Jill to let her know that they were missing her during such and important event! It was wonderful to get to spend some time with Jill & Zach while they were home and look forward to Christmas when Uncle Jeff can come home too!

Mama's Got Some New Clothes

Harrison was so excited to help me open up my package the other day (this goes along with the concept of opening presents.) Since my regular clothes are becoming harder to wear, I "had" to order some new ones. All of my other maternity clothes are for summer, so not tank tops or capris this time of year! Plus, it's always so exciting to get some new things to wear, at least for women!

A Piece of My Childhood

It's a little hard to pick out, but my brother brought some of our childhood things to our house to store since he doesn't have the room anymore, and one of those items was a baton that I had when I was in 4th grade (I think)! Who would know that a metal stick would provide so many hours of entertainment! Harrison didn't know whether to cry or throw a fit when we had to take it away one night. I can see the temper tantrums coming! He lights up everytime we bring this out to play with.

Thanksgiving

We got to spend Thanksgiving with my family at my Grandma's house. Grandma surprised everyone by having Christmas too, and having presents for all of us grand and great-grandkids! Harrison got these 2 little walking toys, a Santa and a snowman. They are so entertaining for him! And we also got the books in the mail today from great-grandma that hadn't come in time. It was so fun to see how he understood the whole concept of unwrapping presents. At his birthday, he didn't quite understand that yet, but he knew this time that the paper had to come off!

Sunny Patch

For those of you with cable and get NOGGIN, Harrison has come to love the show "Miss Spider and the Sunny Patch Gang!" He is more than happy to sit and watch these bugs on their adventures in Sunny Patch. He laughs and gets all excited with the things they do. It's also nice because he is so happy to sit and snuggle on my lap to watch. His attention span doesn't always last the length of the show, but at least for one of the 12 minute episodes. I never expected him to have a favorite show at almost 14 months, but whatever. All I know is my baby is a little boy now!

Learning Our Shapes

Harrison got a shape sorter barn for his birthday and will play for a long time with it. We of coarse help him find the right holes for the blocks to go in, and then he'll push it through. Open the door and pull them out, and repeat this process over and over again! Sometimes he just loves to carry the blocks all around the house, so we find them in some peculiar places!

House Project

We got all new window put in 2 weeks ago, except for the 2 bedrooms upstairs. They had been replaced shortly before we bought the house, so they didn't need to be updated. But every other window is brand-spankin' new! Now I just need to clean all of them! You can see my bottle of Windex on the table for good effort so far.
Saturday marked the day that we did our siding! Of coarse you saw pictures earlier of Kevin and my brother tearing off the old wood siding and putting up some foam insulation. Well, we now have our siding 75% complete. What do you think of the new creamish yellow??? You can see what the old was like just above the front door.
The doormer got white shakes put on it, so that gives it a new look as well. The sides of the doormer still need to be completed, so I'll be sure to put a finished product picture on the blog when it's 100% completed! We had an awesome crew helping us that day, and we couldn't have done it without them. What a blessing you are to us! A couple of the wives and their kids came to have lunch with us, and just to have some fellowship while our husbands were working so hard that day! It was only about 40 degrees outside, so not the most comfortable weather to be working on an outdoor project. There was actually a layer of snow everywhere when we got up that morning, but you can tell it didn't last for long.

Mover & Shaker

Hey everyone! Just a little note to share that I think we might have another mover & shaker on our hands! I felt Baby R. move for the first time this morning and it felt like it was doing aerobics! Or maybe I should say, water aerobics! This is about the same time in my pregnancy that I felt Harrison, so I've been waiting to see how soon this one would start in! I had a doctor's appointment last week, and everything seems to be very normal and progressing in the way it should! Only 3 weeks until I go back again! I know this pregnancy is going to go SO fast! Hope you all are looking forward to eating pounds of turkey next week along with all the trimmings!

HAT - Part 2

HAT - Part 1

Kevin had his Inspiration Point hat out the other day, so I plopped it on Harrison's head. Needless to say, its been a favorite ever since! What fun this boy can have with something as simple as a hat! He'll put it on, and take it off - over and over and over again! He also enjoys walking around the house with it over his eyes. It's amazing he hasn't seriously hurt himself in this whole process. Make sure to check out the video's on this subject!

Refrigerator Bandit ... CAUGHT!

Harrison thinks that it is too fun to check out what's in the refrigerator. But recently he got himself standing up on the bottom ledge. What was he looking for? He came out once he found his sippy cup! Thankfully he can't get it open himself, so don't worry, Kevin and I were right there watching the whole thing happen. What a crazy kid we have!

Pasta

Whoa, momma! You're giving me the bowl? What do I do now?
I couldn't pick them up very well with my fingers, BUT . . .
maybe I'll try it like this! That didn't seem to work either! But they still tasted good!

Favorite Pasttime

Harrison loves to go in the back room and empty out his diaper bag. This time he even found a sippy of water to quench his thirst after such a hard activity! It amazing the things that he finds. I guess it's all part of being a 13 month old!

Happy Pumpkin Day!

Harrison officially dressed up like our family picture that was posted earlier! He sure is one spunky pumpkin! We have the Fall Family Festival tonight at our church, so we are looking forward to that! Last year Harrison was only 4 weeks old and went as a rooster! We have obviously grown up since then! Hope you all will have a safe and happy Halloween!

Harrison and I had to make a pit stop at Interstate to see Grandpa Loran! He started walking around the showroom and told him to pick something out and grandpa would buy it for him! I would have taken a lawn tractor, but that wasn't on Harrison's list. Instead grandpa and I picked out a John Deere sweatshirt for him to sport around in! Grandpa also gave Harrison a ride in the toy store in the wagon! He kept getting closer and closer to the front of it because he would move his body back and forth meaning, "Go again Grandpa!!" I know that next summer we will have to invest in one of these little hummers for the big brother to ride in! I know the stroller will be filled with another one! Thanks Lynae for the pictures!

I'M ALL CAUGHT UP NOW! WAHOO!

HONK

One of Harrison's new favorite games to play is "honk!" I know all kids love this at some point, and I'm honestly not sure where he picked it up, but he loves to pinch our noses! Sometimes he gets his thumb curled just right and he picks your nose instead! He's also not very gentle with the squeezing either.

Harrison's New Throne

Now that I'm 1 year old, I can sit in a big boy booster seat! I'm so proud of myself!

Smirks

A few fun Harrison faces for you to enjoy!

BONK!!

This location on Harrison's forehead is now named "perma-bruise!!" We he falls and bumps his head it's always in this spot! Even though we are smiling for the picture, we were NOT happy about this bump! Talk about an EGG!

Leaves!

A few weeks ago we had a surplus of leaves in our back yard! We have 2 beautiful trees, so it is fun to gaze at them from Harrison's room! You can tell just how deep the leaves were naturally, so raking them into this pile!

Ode to Cracker

Sad picture, I know! But many of you have been asking how I'm feeling, and this might say it all for you! I was so amazed back on Sept. 14 (when this pic was taken) that I made the State of MN with my saltine. That was about the only thing that sparked my curiosity that day. Sorry to say, and I'm not a complainer (most of the time), but I do get really crumby with my pregnancies! And this time 24 hour morning sickness kicked in 4 weeks earlier than with Harrison! I'm hoping that it will get done 4 weeks earlier than last time, so my hopes are still up for that. Since I was sick so early we (me & my doctor) were wondering about twins, so that was one of the reasons for the ultrasound picture (only 1 baby in there.) Plus she couldn't get the heartbeat with the Doppler when I was in, but not to worry obviously, it was in the 160's! So...if I may make a prayer request, I would really appreciate a reprieve from the constant sickness that I have been feeling for the last 2 months!
Sorry to be lacking in the posts department as well! I'm usually so good, but Baby R. is requiring me to rest when possible with a 1 year old running in the house! Thanks for understanding!

1 Year Pictures

Harrison had his 1 year pictures taken on his birthday at Strom Studio! I'm borrowing these pics from their blog (listed at the right.) He did a good job, but like a 1 year old, was on the move and couldn't sit in one spot for too long! I can't wait to get all the proofs back from his photo shoot!

Family Pumpkins

I finally got the opportunity to go out and choose a few pumpkins to represent the members in our family!
For those of you doing the math.... you are counting correctly! We will be a family of 4 next spring!
Kevin and I had the opportunity to meet Baby R. yesterday at our first doctor's appointment! He/she was already very active and moving around alot! It was amazing to see how "human" this little one is already! May 6th is when Baby R. is due to arrive! We will be one busy family, but so worth it with this precious gift!

Growing Up is Hard on your Body

This smile can hide all the ouchies on Harrison's body! You can see the rug burn between his eyebrows and a big bruise on his forehead! All from learning to walk. He really is pretty good, but things seem to jump out and trip him up every so often. Now he's dealing with a cold, so the night's have been a little hairy! I hope he can get back to his old self soon!

Harrison's 2nd Party!

Harrison with his cake! He was being a little charmer at the same time!
His stash! All kinds of new fun things to play with!
Squashing Uncle Josh!
We had a great time on Saturday night! Jill & Zach were in town, but Zach was in a wedding, so they weren't able to be at the party, but we got to spend some good time with them too! Uncle Jeff was going to try and make it down from Canada, but things just didn't end up working out! We missed you Jeff and look forward to seeing you in December!
