No country in the world which is politically unstable is able to develop economically or plan for the future general well being of its citizens. Political instability will not only frighten away investors but may also cause capital flight from the country by its own corporate players. Prolonged political instability will have immense negative practical impact on the ordinary citizen in terms of rising unemployment, increased cost of living, lowering of the quality and standard of living and so on. These in turn will certainly cause other social problems such as increase in crime rate, increase in corruption and wastage of national resources. In short, when the politicians fight, we suffer. UPDATE May 22 : MHC president Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah says; "I will sort this out", as published in Mailsport. ------- There seems to be an "issue" between national coach Paul Revington and 1Mas development coach Lim Chiow Chuan. Revington had apparently sent Chiow Chuan an email which saw the latter reply in what has been interpreted as a "threatening email". Revington then sends a lawyer letter demanding for an apology and retraction and Chiow Chuan adheres. The Malaysian Hockey Condeferation is well aware of the episode and considers the matter as "settled". Really? Word has it that not many people want to get involved in the episode. A motorcyclist claims he was knocked down by a drunk driver. Due to the unfortunate incident, the victim is left with one leg shorter than the other. Two years have passed since the accident. "My lawyer said I will only get about RM12,000 to RM15,000 tops if it goes for trial," the victim claims. How much is the lawyer's legal fees? "I don't know." Do you know the lawyer? "Not really."
