We took our annual October trip to St. George to visit Chris' brother, Greg, and his family. (It was a couple of weeks ago, but hey...better late than never.) His cute wife Jill is amazing (yes, you are) and our kids get along beautifully. It is seriously the easiest and most enjoyable trip. They just play, without ever needing a referee, and then us "big kids" can sit around and visit or just relax. Lovely!
This year our visit fell on Conference Weekend. It was great because Greg and Jill have such a great spirit in their home, it just added to it. Jill made cute little conference bags for the kids which included packets (coloring, bingo, etc.), notebooks, pens, crayons and yummy treats. I don't have to tell you what a hit they were!
A new addition to our visit this year was our little niece Eme. She is sweet and totally delicious! My kids could not get enough of her! I know, that is expected of Zoe, but the surprise was Noah. He wanted to hold Eme every chance he could get. Just the way he would look at her melted my heart. Sometimes I forget what a tender, loving boy he is.
We did take in a movie (Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs...which I thought was disappointing) and a couple of soccer games, but other than that, the kids were just totally content to stay home and play together. We love being with them!
Of course, all good things must come to an end. We packed up and hit the road right after the first session on Sunday. (Jill even made us sack lunches for the road!) We were trying to get within radio range by the time the second session started. We turned the radio on about 2 minutes before the last session was to begin only to hear static. We turned it off, but flipped back in another minute. We listened to the static for a second, then just as the clock turned to 2:00, Mo-Tab started singing through the snow, becoming increasingly clear. Yep, we were able to listen to the whole session without missing a word. Perfect end to a great trip!
