There was no school yesterday, so during nap time Grandma came up and we had a three generation sewing day!!! So much fun!!!
I can't explain how happy it makes me to see my daughter just soaking this quilting up like a sponge. She is currently working on a little quilt for her sister's birthday and already has another 5 projects or so planned when she finishes this one. (Yup, quilter all the way :)
I so look forward to years and years filled with more sewing days like this one!! It truly is Happy Quilting!!!
What a fun day for everyone!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful way to spend the day and time with family.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to get my daughter interested in quilting with me, though she is a lot older now.
Debbie
Isn't that so wonderful! Enjoy the quilting legacy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks like so much fun. Can't wait to have a 3G day with my daughter and grand children....strangely enough I think it is going to be my grandson who is the quilter. Last time I visited we were looking through my photos on my iPhone and he wanted to see all my quilt photos....had to love it!
ReplyDeleteLike mother, like daughter. You're so lucky it gives me goose bumps! :)
ReplyDeletewhat a wonderfull sewing day! ♥ that´s great!
ReplyDeletewhat a great day, you're lucky you have a little girl to teach, my boy(23) just isn't interested lol
ReplyDeleteWhat fun!! I love sewing with kids -- passing on a skill, but also having GREAT FUN as we create together.
ReplyDeleteOh that is just so sweet! What a fun memory you all made. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful family memories made today!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThats so great! I have twin daughters who are 4, and a a boy who is one. Its such fun to sew with my girls. I sit them on my lap and they help guide the fabric. My one year old boy loves playing with the accessory box of my bernina. He must think that all the feet hanging are cars because he gets them out and runs them on the floor while making car noises. It such fun spending this time with my family. Love it!
ReplyDeletemy kinda day
ReplyDeleteI would have like an earlier start with sewing, I didn't get to sew until I was in 7th grade and not again until i was out of school lucky girl, and to have such a great teacher!
ReplyDeleteAww, glad you all had a fun day!
ReplyDeleteJust precious. What memories and stories that can be told!
ReplyDeleteAll three of you are so blessed!!! Love it :)
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing blessing. I wish I had been able to learn to sew with my Grandma (she died of cancer when I was about 7 but we didn't live close and she had been sick for a while by then). I am looking forward to sharing the creative love with my daughter and my mother though (she does live close and we get to create together). How old was your daughter when she took to sewing, Amelia is almost 3 1/2 now.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! My almost 7 year old and is just starting to sew - I'm hoping to have a similar moment when my mom visits in two weeks! Thanks for sharing and loving your happy family moment!
ReplyDeleteThat's so wonderful! Hope you all had an amazing day!:)
ReplyDeleteThat's so lovely that you, your Mom and daughter all share the same love for sewing!
ReplyDeleteMy dil wants to learn to make a quilt and my son said he does too ~ we're taking a beginning class together ~ so excited!
I would love that. I'm sure you will cherish every moment.
ReplyDeleteI just love it, it's so wonderful to have everyone together and to have your daughter sewing as well :)
ReplyDeleteThis is to adorable, love the fact that she has other projects already planned too cute for words, a definite quilter in the making.
ReplyDeleteHave two older daughters in their 40's and I used to make all their clothing. Their grandmother always said when she washed their clothes, she knew they weren't going to fall apart. I gave the older one a Bernette sewing machine last year hoping she would learn to sew since she has a 6-year old daughter. The other one started making some Halloween costumes on a cheap machine she found at WalMart a few years ago so also I gave her a Bernette and she loves it. Now she's sewing up a storm. Has made draperies and even slipcovered some furniture. It's nice to see children learning things that you got so much enjoyment out of. I hope my oldest doesn't let her machine sit around in it's box and collect dust. I keep nudging her but she's always "too busy". That machine might still be in the box when her daughter gets old enough to learn how to use it. I surely hope not.
ReplyDeleteHow exciting to see the next generation coming through!
