Babies!!!!

Our boys are here!!
They decided it was time to come and we are so excited to have them here!
Bryson Evan & Scott Alan were born on June 30th
Bryson was born first and weighed in at 5lb 3 oz and 18.5 inches long
then came Scott at 4lb 3oz and 17.5 inches long.
I started having contractions at about 3 AM, and I knew they wanted to watch Baby "B" or Scott closely so I called Dr Leavitt and he told me to head to the hospital at about 6:30. We got there and I was 90% effaced, but only dilated to a 1. An hour later I had made a little progress to fully effaced and Dr Leavitt said it was birthday time. So we hung out for a while, they broke my water at about 11, and I got my epidural at 12 :D :D Happy day! After that, I progressed from a five to fully dilated in about 4 hours (as I happily took a nap, how bout that!) and they wheeled me into the OR. We delivered in the OR just in case something went awry so they could quickly do a c-section if needed. We got set up and pushed for about 30 min. Bryson was born at 5:45, and they were just geting ready to bring the ultrasound over to check Scott's position when Dr Leavitt looked down and said "Never mind, we have a head. Go ahead and push." :) Little Scott came just 2 minutes behind his brother, and they both did great!! No need for oxygen or anything, they ate well and held their temperature, so we all came home from the hospital 48 hours later. So many answered prayers and extra blessings!!
Here are some pictures of our boys, we think they're pretty darn cute! Sorry that they're backward as far as the order of things, but you get the idea :)

Here's little Scott in his MVP outfit. He is so tiny!! But really very awake and alert, he loves to just look around.

This is Bryson in his matching outfit :) I won't always dress them alike, but these clothes were just too stinking cute! He's our big boy, but still pretty tiny and oh so cute! He is a little more sleepy, but he has the funniest facial expressions. It's hilarious to watch him.

Burping twins 101
I've actually been able to nurse them both at the same time so their on the same schedule- yay!!

This is Bryson, our little "Glo-Worm". He had a bit of jaundice so this is a picture of him on his "Bili Blanket." I thought it made him look like those old glo-worm toys that their belly lit up :). But he was a champ at tolerating being wrapped up with this thing all the time, and was officially given the OK yesterday to take it back. Mom and dad are excited!

Here's one of their first moments together. It was so cute, they kept them in the same bassinet the whole time they were in the hospital. Priceless :)

Our first family picture, complete with awesome bed hair mom :D Yes!

A proud papa showing off his boys to the family who were anxiously waiting outside the nursery window. Big sigh of relief to have them here and safe.

Bedrest? What's that?!

Well, at my appointment on Thursday we hit a little bump in the road. Apparently "Baby B" has decided to quit growing as much as his brother. Now, there's only 6 oz difference between the two according to the ultrasound, but it's a bigger gap than there has been. Plus, B's umbilical cord resistance is higher than they would like it to be. Dr Leavitt explained this kinda like plaque build-up in your arteries. This may be one reason why the baby is small, because he's not getting as much "flow." So guess what that means...mom gets grounded! Not "completely down in bed" bedrest, but more of a "take it easy" bedrest. No more work (which I'm not gonna lie, those 12 hour shifts were starting to get pretty long), no heavy lifting, just taking it easy. That way we can ease some stress on mom, stress on babies and uterus, etc. Also we get to go to the doctor twice a week from now to D-day to keep a close eye on "Baby B," if his cord resistance goes up, then we're done. However, Dr. Leavitt says he thinks we'll have babies within the next week or two either way. So there ya go, we'll keep ya posted. I think Evan and I are both kinda in shock still because our month left just became 2 weeks, but we're SO EXCITED to meet our boys! Just please keep us in your prayers, we've already been so blessed with this pregnancy and are so thankful to be at this point in our lives together. Wish us luck! :D

Now for the icing...

SO, for so long I waited for the day that I could announce that we were having a baby and have one of those countdown thingys on our blog. lol Well, not only did I slack off, but I did it SO well that I've now almost missed my chance! Let me rectify the situation, which may not come as a shock to anyone by now, but just in case it is and to satisfy my own silliness...
WE'RE PREGNANT!!!
and not only that, but we are so excited and blessed to be having
TWIN BOYS!
We are beyond excited about our boys, and things are going great!! I am now 33 weeks along and things seem to be progressing very nicely. We could really have them anytime now, full term for twins is 32 to 36 weeks, so anytime is fair game. July 11th is D-day if they haven't come by themselves, so I guess we'll just have to wait and see!
I need to borrow my mom's scanner to upload our ultrasound pictures, but I will at least post some prego pictures as soon as I unload my camera memory card ;).

Rapid Review

To those who still wonder if we are even alive- YES! And doing great :D To prove this, here's a rapid review of our lives since my last post which was quite a while ago
I chose 1 picture to represent each month, so let's start with...

December
Here's one of my favorite pictures from Christmas this year. When we went up to Driggs to celebrate with Evan's family, we did a talent show. Well, all of the other siblings promptly "delegated" this out to their children- lame! ;) So Evan and I were left to our own devices. I'll admit, I played the easy card and read a story to all the kids. But it was a new book and REALLY cute! Then Evan dazzled everyone with a rendition of "I'm a Little Teapot" complete with the actions.

Needless to say it was hilarious and by far the highlight of the evening. I love that guy!!! :D
But we had a wonderful Christmas. Evan was spoiled with a GPS for hunting/camping and he spoiled me with a Wii Fit which is SO fun! Anywho, so there ya go-- a belated Christmas to you all!

January
Evan's 26th birthday! Yay to my handsome hubby!
We just had the family over for some homemade raspberry/huckleberry cheesecake -- YUM -- and dinner. It was a party, complete with balloons and some bubble-wrap from one of his other gifts that the kids started dancing on. Great fun ;). But I think this was his favorite...

Drumroll please...Cabela's Big Game Hunter for the Wii! It is hysterical to watch Evan and his brothers play these games. They get so competitive! But it's been fun for everybody.

February
Introducing our new nephew...the nameless wonder! ;) Let me elaborate...
This cute little guy was not due until April, but decided he'd rather come in February. He came at 32 weeks, weighing 4 lbs and 19 inches long- what a stringbean!! BUT, he did so well!! This is a picture of his first day, but he only ended up needing the darth vadar mask for about 10 hours, then just regular oxygen supplement. He was a trooper! As for the name thing, originally my brother Ward called and said that his name was Kyler James Gardner. Cute right? Then, a day or two later he called back and said Just kidding! His name is now Daegan James Gardner. What?! Anywho, since then it has not changed and we've loved having "DJ," as his grandpa calls him, around. Love you bud!

March
Evan and I celebrated our 4th Anniversary!! We've kinda had not-so-awesome luck with anniversaries thus far with being able to celebrate them :) so this year I really wanted to do something fun. But, I asked Evan to plan it -- hehe sneeky, huh? So on our anniversary he surprised me with a trip to SLC to attend the SLC temple! That is something I'd never done and wanted to SO BAD. It was such a cool experience!! We even got sorta lost getting inside because a very nice gentleman assumed we were there for a wedding :), good stuff. But we made it and loved it! Afterward, Evan was planning to take me to PF Chang's to eat because that's where we ate the night we got engaged. However, it was prom night in SLC. Yeah, no bueno on the wait time. So instead, we went to another favorite, the Rodizio Grill! YUM!! Thanks for a fabulous anniversary date babe- I LOVE YOU!!
Unfortunately, no pictures :( cuz Kerri was a twit and forgot the camera. Oh well! So instead, our picture for this month is of Uncle Evan and Daegan, to see what a difference even a month had for this little guy. Here he was just over 5 lbs. Now, 3 months later he is 15 lbs. DUDE!!

April
haha! Who said you couldn't have sunshine, snow, rain, and hail all in one week! Well in Idaho we can, and do quite frequently ;). My sister Jamie and her kids came to visit in April and we had SO MUCH FUN!! It was great to see them and hang out, and to see the kids' adventures- especially for Easter. My mom and I went out to hide the eggs for the kids to find when the skies opened up and started to snow... a lot! So we had fun, then laughed inside as the kids scrambled around the yard to find the eggs as quickly as possible so they could come back inside. I think we set the record for shortest easter egg hunt in history! But it was fun. I'll have to steal some pictures from Jamie's blog later though, I again forgot my camera. Doh!

May
Again, can I just say how awesome Evan is?! For those of you who have been to our house, you've seen the awesome settling in the yard, cracked steps, etc. Well, that is our project this summer and here is Phase 1. Evan dug out the front yard, ripped out all the concrete (which left us with no front steps, or back steps for that matter, for about a week hehe It was great) and then his friend John and his brother Shawn came over and they poured new concrete sidewalk and steps in the front, and new steps and a patio in the back. YAY!!!! It looks great, and now we're on to landscaping, then hydroseed so we actually have a lawn next year. Wahoo! Thanks to everyone that helped, and on to the next phase soon...

So there ya have it folks! Now we can enjoy some sunshine and a summer that is bound to be an adventure... ;)

Foiled again!

Hahaha! Well, my genious plans for painting were foiled by life in general. It got started, but alas, it will have to wait. I do have all the supplies now, so one of these days I'll just pull it out and "git'er'done"! Until then, I'm just excited to spend some time with family this Thursday, and joing the madness the day after with my mom and my sister. :D Oh ya, it's gonna be awesome...

Paint

I have finally found the paint that I want to use for our bedroom. But I am a little hesitant...why you may ask? Well, I will be the first one to admit that I am not all that crafty. Allbeit I am doing MUCH better in climbing up the "Crafty Scale," but I'm scared I will bite off more than I can chew in this one. :D
This particular look I want involves glazing. Not once, but twice. So from what I understand from all the little freebie paint pamphlets you can accumulate from the Home Depot, I will paint the base coat and leave it to dry for at least 24 hours. Then I mix glaze with paint, use a sea sponge thingamagig (hehe ya like that spelling? yeah baby!) to carefully sponge/mix on this glaze. Then let that dry, and apply a third, darker coat and blend that in. In the picture, this looks awesome!!! Under the direction of me...it could be interesting, let's just leave it at that.

SO, I guess I'm looking for people who have "Glazing Tips" that they would like to share that may make this process go a little smoother (no pun intended ;) hehe). Anywho, I am excited about it, I think it will look great. Now I just need to plan for about 3 days in a row that I have work off before Thanksgiving...

Hope everyone is having a FANTABULOUS fall day! Smile big! :D

Shame, Shame...

Yea, it is pathetic really to look at your blog and realize it's almost 3 months since my last post. HA! Oh well, here is the rapid overview of the last little bit to let ya'll know that we really are still alive and lovin' life! This is my favorite time of the year and I'm so excited for the rest to come!!!

First off, Happy 24th Birthday to me! :D We had a fun relaxing weekend at home, and enjoyed watching conference over at my parents house. I fixed a cheesecake and the family came over to celebrate with us. Good times!!
And I have some updated house pictures for those who are wondering how our painting and "remodeling" went...but these pictures are a little out of order- oh well.
First I have to brag on my very handy hubby! He has done a great job at building, adding, painting, everything. He's amazing! He built in these added shelves for our closet and also made it a double bar whatever you call it on the other side that you really can't see in this picture. But it made all the difference for space!

Then he framed in and finished some storage rooms in the basement. Here are the saweet roller shelves to help rotate canned goods...

And the view of the rest of the "Food storage"- we've really been trying to build up our food storage. I actually went to the cannery with the RS in our ward the other day and got some stuff. Fun stuff!

Here lies "Man Land" for now. This is our "Extra stuff storage" for things like camping gear, snowmobile gear, hunting gear...are we sensing a theme here? hehe

These things are a complete accident, but I love them!! Long story short, Home Depot messed up on our order of appliances and we were moving in without a washer and dryer. SO we went to the store and they gave us these as an upgrade, free of charge to us. Wahoo!!!!

Here is a view of the kitchen with the green paint that we did. Not the best picture, but I think it turned out nice with the cabinets...now I just need to finish adding some decorations. Ideas and suggestions welcome!

Here's the living room, we added all the brown paint...

Our corner shelf with just some nicknacks...but Evan actually pretty much this together himself. Two points for you dear!

And something I've waited a long time to see, our diplomas up on the wall. This was a goal I've always had, and I want our kids to know that education is important and such a blessing!!

And, as the die-hard Disney fan that I am, I got this "Wish" sign at a white-elephant gift thingy a couple of years ago. And I love the stars that people are using to decorate with, so this is what ya get walking out of the hallway...

In other news, my sister-in-law Jen and their baby Ethan came to visit for a few days!! It was so fun to hang out with them for a little while, and Ethan is SO CUTE! Anywho here's a picture of us together...

And this is my altime favorite picture of my oldest brother. Unfortunately, he kinda used to scare all the neices and nephews when they were small. He is such a softie, but he finally found his perfect little buddy! :D Also for Ward, he and Jonell are going to have a baby boy themselves next April (I think) and they are very happy. Trey is ecstatic to be a big brother too! It will be fun.

Anywho, that's the rapid review for the Hansens. Hope you all are well !! Come and visit anytime, we love the company and now have room to accomodate company. At least so that they don't have to camp out in the kitchen :).
