Once Upon a Royal Christmas
Once Upon a Royal Christmas by Teri Wilson was such an enchanting story. The perfect Hallmark story.
Gracie Clark, Princess Snowflake, is a Party Princess who wants to take her business to the next level. But no bank will loan her the capital that she needs. Claire, her best friend, finds the solution. She enters Gracie in a contest to help a small European country wanting to boost tourism. With a hefty prize money, Gracie wins and sets out for the San Glaceras Christmas Festival.
Prince Nikolas is reported to be a prince with no heart. He cares for his people and his country, so when his sister announces this contest, he protests. Feeling that is more of a gimmick. When Gracie arrives, he meets her but, they each mistake the other. He thinks she is a real princess, and she thinks he is the actor to portray a prince.
Very entertaining. I loved the banter between Nick and Gracie. And the sweet way they fall for each other. Although Gracie tries so hard not to. This is a delightful story, clean and wholesome. Terri Wilson has a beautiful way of engaging the reader into her story. I could envision someone like Fiona Gubelmann or Jessy Schram playing Gracie in this Hallmark movie.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received via Hallmark Publishing and NetGalley. All views expressed are my honest opinion.

My Anchor Man
Recently, when I was driving, I heard a message on the
My admiration goes beyond understanding. I've seen
God always has His men. He always has a remnant of
An Anchor man is a man who will have no other gods
Men who will not make graven images. They love the
Men who will not take the Lord's name in vain.
Men who are motivated to work, but not so much that
Men who honor their fathers and mothers, and are
Men who will not murder.
Men who will not steal things, whether it is
Men who will not bear false witness.
Men who are a one-woman man.
Men who do not covet but are content and thankful
I am thankful for the covenant relationship I have
So this week I am wishing him a Happy Birthday!

What goes around
Have you noticed the new fashion trends? If you are older, like me, you will certainly notice that many of the "new" styles are reminiscent of the 70's.
I remember having a shirt very similar to this one. The white eyelet was very popular.Sunday, August 14, 2022

South Korea flooding
Yesterday I posted about my daughter teaching in South Korea. She has since told me about the flooding in parts of SK. Thankfully it is not in the area where she is located. Apparently it is in the lower parts of the country.
You can read about it here -

Crafting is Therapy
There are so many different aspects to crafting. I think we all need some kind of creative outlet. Whether we are good at something, or just enjoy the process.
Are you a sensitive person? Do you notice fine scents, sounds, tastes or works of art? I tend to notice sensory changes. For so many years I would stuff it down, and try to conform to what everyone else was doing.
Then I read an article on how crafting can actually advance healthy living along with joy and creative satisfaction, I stopped to ponder about this.
Whether it is cooking, gardening, knitting or sewing, crafts have become a proven way to bring sanity and calmness in a sometimes hectic world. You see apparently the brain cannot dwell on stress when it is engaged by the repetitive movement of your chosen craft.
Sometimes you come up with a solution to a problem when you give your brain a break.
So is that the reason we should cook, garden, knit, or quilt? No I think the reason is that we enjoy it. And in turn that becomes our "therapy".
To find out if you are a highly sensitive person, you can do the self test at this website Highly Sensitive Person.
Enjoy, and Happy Quilting!

What I am working on
Since taking up the Dirty Dozen challenge, I have unearthed some long forgotten quilt blocks. They were from this Bunny Hill pattern.
My daughter had started these blocks years ago, and never finished putting them together. It still needs the border, but I was able to find some fabric in my stash to make the alternate blocks.Monday, August 1, 2022
