SMOOches

Hello my friends! Today is our monthly i {heart} papers design team challenge and our theme this month is to think of the hot days of summer and how we "beat the heat" for our inspiration! Well, here in Minneapolis, our summer is winding down and soon it will be back to school time! (21 days to be exact. Not that I'm counting!) Now that it's not so hot out in the evenings, we can enjoy some time out on the deck with a favorite beverage. My new favorite beverage this summer is Raspberry Lemonade by Schwan's. It comes in these cute little milk cartons and that was my inspiration for today! I made 2 tiny cartons from some Springtime DP by Echo Park and my SU! die. I used a small scallop circle nestabilitie die to make the top decoration and then held it closed with a tiny clothes pin decorated with baker's twine. I was then surfing the net to find a cute little holder to put them in and came across this tutorial on the Paper Punch Addiction blog and whipped it up in no time!! Did you see that i {heart} papers now carries Paper Smooches stamps?! I've  been eyeing these cuties up since they first came out and now that IHP carries them- I have even more of a reason to buy them! (Like that's ever stopped me in the first place!) Anyways, the pudgy little cow fit my theme perfectly so I stamped him up, colored him with my Copics and then layered him up on a Fleur De Lis Motif nestabilities diecut. I tucked the sentiment under one of the clothes pins. Cute, huh?! I'm not sure what I'm going to put inside of my mini milk cartons but I'm sure I'll think of something {wink}. Now check out what the other DT members created!

Awesome

It's a beautiful day here in our neighborhood and my DH and 3 sons (along with Grandpa and a cousin) are off to the Game Fair this morning. They'll have oodles of fun looking at hunting gear, watching hunting dog competitions and shooting their shotguns. A real "guy" event that I am happy to stay away from so I can craft :) I whipped up this little card to give to my 10 year old boy for all of his hard work with a household project. I again used this month's "Get Your Diva On" challenge and incorporated a little tag for the sentiment. The layout is also this week's MOJO Monday sketch. I hand cut my scallops on the cork layer (my punch just wouldn't go through it no matter how hard I tried!) and they are a little crooked but that's the beauty of a hand made card (right?)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Rock My World

Yay the weekend is here! I needed a card for a 13 year old boy today and I decided to incorporate this month's Verve "Get Your Diva On" challenge. I made my tag from some Good Day Sunshine Boy DP by My Mind's Eye and Verve's Sweet Scallop die. I distressed around all the edges with my memento tuxedo black ink pad. The sentiment is from the Small Phrases set. Did you see all of the new stamps and dies that Verve released last night?! I have been neglecting my crafting lately while I ready my house for daycare again this fall. (I can't believe we'll be starting school again in just a few weeks!) I will be placing an order with Verve though to get me back on track! There is also loads of new product appearing in the i {heart} papers store so check it out!

We are in the midst of cleaning out the playroom, reorganizing and getting rid of some of the toys so I better get back to it! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Fly

Hi friends! Today the i {heart} papers design team is hopping along with the Unity design team. Be sure and check out all of their blogs to see some wonderful Unity creations and then hop along with us here! In celebration of this little hop, ALL full-sized Unity kits are $12 or less! But, there is VERY limited inventory and these past kits will not be restocked so don’t wait or you might miss your chance to get them at this price. Happy hopping and happy SHOPPING!

For my card I used the set "Total Cuteness". I stamped my butterfly in poppy parade ink and carefully trimmed it out. I layered it up on some Country Drive DP by Echo Park. My sparkly flourish is from the bargain bin at Michael's. Thanks so much for stopping by and be sure and check out my fellow DT members too!

Snow Day

Happy Saturday my friends! I had a bit of stamping time this afternoon and worked on more of the Dare to Get Dirty challenges. This card incorporates 3 of the DTGD challenges and this week's MFT sketch! (It seems like forever since I have participated in the MFT sketch) I know it's hard to see a winter themed card (it was hard to make one too) when it is this hot and humid out but I like how it all turned out! We are in for some rain tonight so it should cool things down for tomorrow (and provide me with more crafty time :P)

My husband and oldest son are with some fellow Boy Scouts backpacking on Isle Royale in Michigan this week. They have never done anything like this before so I hope they are having a good time! I'm sure it will be something they will always remember! (I hope they are taking pictures). We are enjoying ribs in the crockpot tonight for dinner while they dine on dehydrated spaghetti and meatballs. Shhh, don't tell them!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Cupcake

Oh I'm having so much fun with the Dare To Get Dirty challenges at SCS! My card today is for Dini's challenge and I chose this fun cupcake (another Itty Bitty by Unity) for my main image and for the sprinkles, I used some seed beads from my cross stitching days! My cupcake is colored with my Copics and layered up with my circle and eyelet circle nestabilities. You have to be a fan club member to see the challenge details so go here to join!

It's finally a nice day here- not so flippin HOT- and we have the windows open for some fresh air. Going to spend some time reading on my (nicely stained) deck this afternoon. Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

Dirty Fun!

Man- July just flew by in a whirlwind here! We enjoyed the big USA Cup soccer tournament, swimming lessons and just hanging out at the pool to keep cool during the day. Last weekend we stained our deck (that desperately needed it!) and now I think it's time to get back to my true passion of stamping!! AND, if you are a fan club member, this year's Dare To Get Dirty challenges have started on SCS! Yay, just what I need to get my stamping MOJO flowing again!

Another thing that helps with the MOJO is the NEW PRODUCTS that have started to appear in the i {heart} papers store from summer CHA! I started with Rose Ann's DTGD challenge and a new Itty Bitty stamp from Unity. I colored my roller skates with my Copic sketch markers using today's color challenge of white, turquoise and gray. I added some sparkle to the wheels and hearts using an Atyou Spica glitter pen and then some tiny brads to the wheel bearings. I embossed the card using my circle and lacey circle nestabilities.  A fun little card to get me back in the stamping groove!

There will be challenges posted throughout the week exclusively for fan club members with prizes being awarded too! If you're not a fan club member, what are you waiting for?! You can find all of the details to become one HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!
