You Rock!

Hello my Friends! I have a quick little card to share with you today using a May Verve sketch from SCS. I love sketch challenges (I know I've told you before but I'm addicted!) and I am always looking for a good sketch! Some of my favorites are the weekly Viva la Verve sketches, MFT Wednesday Stamp Club sketches and the Wednesday sketch challenges on SCS. I also like Jen's Deconstructed sketch and I am SUPER excited that Jen delMuro is bringing back her infamous Sketch for You to Try starting June 1 on the Reverse Confetti blog!

For my card, I used a sentiment from Technique Tuesday's Big Thanks set and some Boy Crazy DP by MME. Next week is the end of the school year for my kids so I am working on some "congrats" cards for them and this will be perfect for my sixth (soon to be 7th) grader!

We have a busy night of 3 soccer games, a soccer practice and a band concert all between the hours of 6 and 10 pm so I'm off to find a quick (and portable dinner) and pack the truck with all of our soccer necessities including the umbrella. . .

Thanks so much for stopping by!

stamps: Big Thanks (Technique Tuesday)
ink: poppy parade (SU!)
paper: crumb cake, poppy parade, very vanilla (SU!); Boy Crazy DP (MME)
accessories: large scallop border (MFT); black gems (Kaiser Craft)

Hot Dog!

Hello my Friends! Yesterday I received my order from i {heart} papers and, knowing that I had oodles of stuff to accomplish before I could stamp, I diligently put it in my craft room unopened. BUT- as soon as my kids were out the door for school this morning, I ran down to my craft room and tore into my package! I was most excited about the dies that I ordered from Paper Smooches. I LOVE Paper Smooches stamps but had never tried the dies until today. The dies don't come with a guide or anything but I found them pretty easy to use! I started by cutting the dog out of Ultra Smooth white card stock and then laying my die cut on my black Basic Grey magnetic mat (making it easy to see the edges). Then I inked up my matching dog stamp with some Tuxedo Black ink and carefully matched up the die cut outline with my stamp through the acrylic block and pressed down. I think it looks pretty darn good! I then colored my pup with my Spectrum Noir markers and layered him up on some Family Ties DP. My sentiment is from Cas-ual Fridays Exclamations set and my layout is this week's Deconstructed Sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

stamps: Woofers and Tweeters (Paper Smooches); Exclamations (CAS-ual Fridays)

paper: Ultra Smooth white card stock (Crafter's Companion); Family Ties DP (Pebbles)

Hey, Sassy Pants

Hey Friends! Did you enjoy your long weekend? We had a soccer tournament (that was local) so we spent oodles of time at the soccer complex. Unfortunately the weather was not real summer like and we ended up wrapped in blankets while cheering on my oldest son's team! Many people had on their winter jackets but I refused to bring mine back out of the closet! Fortunately, the rain held off so we were only cold and not wet too! It was all worth it though with my son's team winning first place in their age division! (It was a come from behind win and really quite exciting!)

Anyways, today it is still chilly and overcast and the perfect weather for stamping! I found a 6x6 paper pad in my stash that I bought last summer and only used maybe 2 times (shame, shame) so I thought I would give it another go round before my NEW shipment of summer papers arrives from i {heart} papers! (Yes, I am a paper addict!). I colored my MFT Pure Innocence girl with my Spectrum Noir markers and carefully trimmed her out. I paper pieced her dress and added a tiny gem to her hair. My layout is loosely based on this week's MFT sketch.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

ink: memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko)

Hi!

Hello my friends! I have a quick Clean and Simple card to share with you today! I was inspired by this card that I found on Pinterest and put my own spin on it. I die cut my letters from Walnut Grove DP with my Red Tag Sale alphabet for my Cuttlebug. The sentiment is from Paper Smooches that I added to a banner die. A sparkly brad and some Baker's twine wrap it all up!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy Friday!

paper: cherry cobbler, positively pink (SU!); Walnut Grove DP (Pebbles)

Be Fabulous!

Hello friends! I enjoyed my creative time so much yesterday and ended up with quite a few finished projects to share over the next few days (hooray)!

Today's card is a little encouragement card for a friend who is going through a rough little patch in her life right now! She is always so positive and such a strong woman but we all need a hug and an "it will all be alright" pep talk every now and then and so I'm popping this in the mail for her today! When I sat down to make her a card, I wasn't quite sure what stamp set I was going to use and then while leafing through my 6x6 paper pads, I spotted these little tags in the Snippets Collection by Studio Calico! Perfect! I just cut out the sentiment, layered it on some black card stock, added some gems for accent and a clothespin/twine element to finish it off! I took my picture with the sun shining on my card so you can see the dry embossing I did on the black card stock for added dimension. My friend is already fabulous but it doesn't hurt to tell her that she is! I'm sure it will make her smile.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hi

Hi friends! My card for you today is another boy card. I find those the hardest to make and so, when the inspiration hits, I make a few for my stash! This one is pretty generic and I left the inside blank so that I can make it into whatever kind of greeting I need. All of my DP is from the Scoot collection by Echo Park. My cool patterned arrow is an old Quickutz die and the star die is by WPlus9.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Just a quick post so I can get back to creating while I still have the inspiration :)

stamps: With Flair (Technique Tuesday)
ink: Memento Love Letter (Tsukineko)
paper: whisper white, baja breeze (SU!); Scoot DP (Echo Park)
accessories: blue twine (Hemptique); star die (WPlus9); arrow die (Quickutz); circle punch (SU!); clear gems (Kaiser Craft)

Hippo Hooray!

Hello my friends! My card today is a boy birthday card for my stash. With 3 boys in my house- we are always in need of boy themed birthday cards! This time I used some Bundle of Joy Boy DP by Echo Park and a cute little hippo stamp from Paper Smooches. I colored my hippo with my Spectrum Noir markers and added the sentiment on an MFT banner die. For sparkle (which is a necessity in my book) I covered a star die in dazzling diamonds glitter. Some twine, a button and a tiny clothespin complete the look!

Thanks so very much for stopping by! Psst- see the pretty pink flowers in the background of my photo?! Spring has finally sprung here and my rhododendrons are blooming!!

ink: memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko)
paper: baja breeze, whisper white, so saffron (SU!); Bundle of Joy Boy DP (Echo Park)

Wedding Season

Hello my crafty friends! Yesterday's clean and simple challenge on SCS was to convey a message on a card without using a sentiment. That was a pretty easy one for me! I made a wedding card for my stash and decided to use the colors of my own wedding. I used a cake from Gourmet Rubber Stamps (that are on sale this month at i {heart} papers), colored it with my Spectrum Noir markers and added some Kaiser Craft gems to it for sparkle. The ribbon has a tinsel edge for even more sparkle! I found these fun little stick pins in my stash and added them to the ribbon. Still pretty clean and simple I think :)

Thanks for stopping by!

stamps: Swingin' Spring (Gourmet Rubber Stamps)
ink: memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko)
paper: whisper white, cherry cobbler, basic black (SU!)
accessories: tinsel edge ribbon (May Arts); stick pins (MM); Spectrum Noir markers; clear gems (Kaiser Craft); swirl embossing folder (Provo Craft)

The Best

I have the best Mother-in-law in the world so it was only appropriate that I used this sentiment from Technique Tuesday for her Mother's Day card! I also used some Walnut Grove DP by Pebbles and I created my yellow rose with an MFT die-namics and some 100% wool felt. The black gem swirl is old and from Zva Creative but there are some fabulous new ones out there that you can buy at i {heart} papers! Ooo and did you see that Jen De Muro  (of i heart to sketch) has created her own stamp company called Reverse Confetti and i {heart} papers is the ONLY online store she chose to carry it! I am soo excited and love her first release so watch for those samples to be coming your way soon!

I hope you all enjoyed your special day yesterday and have a great day today!

Thanks for stopping by!

Adore

Hello my crafty friends! I'm finally getting back into the crafty mode after some (unintended) time off! Soccer is once again in full swing so we are busy shuttling the kids all across town to the various soccer fields and my crafting time has become quite limited. . . Anyways,  I was so excited to see that Jen is celebrating her 100th Deconstructed Sketch this week! I love sketch challenges (I think I've mentioned that before) and her's is always a good one! For my card, I used my beloved Paper Smooches stamps, some MME DP and my Spectrum Noir markers. On my kitty, I added some glitter to her eyeshadow for a little girlie bling!

I have a bit of a confession to make. For my daughter's Prom a few weeks ago, her friend came over to do her hair and makeup. Her friend made my daughter's eyes look so beautiful and really "pop" with just the right shades of shadow and eyeliner. It was gorgeous but not too made up. I asked her friend how she learned to apply her makeup so nicely and she said that she watches Youtube videos! So, I've been watching them lately too! I'm not much of a make-up wearer but I love seeing some of the looks these women create just with different eye shadows, liners and lipsticks. It's amazing and really informative, not to mention entertaining! My favorites are the girls from the UK- I love listening to their accents! (so maybe I would have more time to craft if I stopped watching make-up videos?!!) So that's why my kitty has such sparkly eyes today!

Thanks for stopping by!

ink: memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko)

I used some Down by the Shore DP by Fancy Pants and my sentiment is from the Simply Said set by Paper Smooches. Also, there are some amazing products on sale over at i {heart} papers! Got to make room for the new stuff that is always coming in- like the NEW Paper Smooches stamps and dies (my favorites)!!
